We went to The Local for my mom's birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish! We were greeted with a sweet birthday card from the staff, and they even treated my mom to free drinks, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our waitress was amazing and had the best recommendations. The food was incredible! My boyfriend and I shared the steak Cajun pasta and the goat cheese burger, and both were absolutely fabulous. The Local has that perfect relaxed yet elevated vibe, with amazing cocktails, incredible food, and such friendly, attentive staff. We had the best time celebrating my mom and will absolutely be back. This was my first time here for a family gathering with my mom and sister. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating, but with temperatures around 100 degrees, we opted to sit inside. Our waiter was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My sister and I shared the Tuna Poke Nachos, which were delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. I ordered the Honey Toum Chicken, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry, and the pita was slightly overdone with some burnt edges. Considering the price, I felt the food fell short of my expectations. That said, I still enjoyed spending quality time with my mom and sister over good conversation. As the restaurant filled up, the noise level increased quite a bit, making it a little harder to talk. I did see a few other items I would like to try so a return visit is possible, but definitely will expect more of a food quality is needed. read more

Went to lunch with some friends at this fairly new spot. Sat out on the patio, which is a huge space and very nice. It is covered, for some protection from the elements! Our server was very patient as it was our first time. She made recommendations and answered all of our questions. I went with the fried grouper sandwich with fries. My table mate got a blackened grouper sandwich, and the other opted for a salad with figs and other goodies (can't remember the name of it!). The sandwich was served nice & hot, and the breading was perfect. Not too thick, and very crunchy. The fries were hot and flavorful. Look forward to returning and trying other menu items. read more

Oh no! We got takeout for late lunch and so disappointed. I ordered my usual fish sandwich lightly blackened. I guess they thought lightly blackened meant lightly cooked. It was near raw in parts and did not taste fresh. I had to take the fish off and finish cooking it! The pickles were missing, and the bun was not as good as it's been. I asked what sides could be substituted for fries and told small salad, which I ordered. My husband picked up the food and when home saw my $20 sandwich was now $25!! The salad was fine. My first time at this restaurant and the food was very good. I thought the salad with the fig dressing, grilled chicken and arugula was delicious. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and said they were delicious. I didn't get a picture. The portions were a good size. Service was ok. We had to ask instead of being asked but the order was correct and we enjoyed our meal. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The food here is fantastic. Also, I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant I think the piece that lowers it a little bit for me is the service seemed disjointed like maybe it was some people's first or second week of being at the restaurant and so they just hadn't gotten their sea select quite yet. The food was delicious. I ordered a fig and prosciutto salad that was heaven in every bite! I also ordered a side of cheese, grits, and bacon. They were good, but I probably wouldn't order either again. I think being a new restaurant I'm excited to come back to this place in the future because I think it will only continue to get better and better. I picked The Local to have dinner with my boyfriend and my family for my birthday. I was glad I did!! My family had ordered appetizers and they came really quickly. I am obsessed with their hummus platter and also tried the hot honey chicken which wasn't spicy. I've always been amazed at how tender the chicken is at The Local. I would definitely get both appetizers again. After asking the waitress for advice, I decided on the crispy skin snapper which came with spaghetti squash and edamame. The fish was cooked perfectly, it melted in your mouth. I've gotten the salmon before and liked it better because of the sauce. They gave us complimentary desserts and I'm obsessed with their crème brûlée it has a strong vanilla flavor which I love. The blueberry rum bread pudding was good too. The chef came out at the end of the meal with a card and a complimentary appetizer for our next visit. I can't wait to come back and the get the hummus appetizer! Just opened & doing it right. I think I may even like this better than the Atlantic Beach Local, and so much closer to home. Decor is bright crisp and clean. The outside bar area is a great space. I noticed what looks to be a band area outdoors. That would be great to have live music. Our server Dawson was engaging, helpful & efficient. Shaun filled us in on the secret to the amazing blueberry bread pudding. This is where I say " Eat dessert first." Our appetizer of hot honey chicken was super moist and delicious. Grouper tacos were also yummy. We upgraded the fries to truffle fries. That was the only disappointment, No flavor. They need improvement for sure. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, the local is an absolutely stunning spot. They have a large wrap around patio with a bar and music set up. The space inside and outside is just beautiful. The outside space is very warm. They have ac coming but right now it is almost stifling hot. Stopped in and grabbed the tuna nachos real quick. So delicious with big chunks of tuna. They were doing construction on one part of it, but the decor and vibe in there is very cool. Very chill. I don't have all the answers to life, but I do know the Hendrix, Burger and espresso martini at the local is one of them. Hands down the best burger and martini in the area. This is my go to at the local and it never disappoints! I've had the hummus ceviche a few of their bowls and salads, but I always go back to the burger. I feel like I formed a slightly unhealthy love for this meal. My service is always great. I love sitting at the bar and the ambience is wonderful. Great addition to the neighborhood. I've been for brunch, dinner, and after-dinner drinks. All great experiences. For brunch, I had the Mediterranean egg dish, which was a nice shakshuka-type meal. The Hendrick hamburger has arugula and goat cheese, which is delicious. The French onion soup was pretty good, although it was a little on the cold side. Definitely could be way hotter. Went the weekend before Halloween, and they had a live band, and the dancing was great. Everyone was in costume. Really great big screens for watching sports, and nice heaters out on the patio. read more

Menu was a warning when the "grouper sandwich"was listed as "beer battered haddock". Decided to give it a go anyways. Food was on the pricey side, ok, but farm from remarkable, didn't feel like good value. Granted, eateries in PV tend to charge more than other areas, but some, like Boathouse actually deliver food that feels worth it. My husband and I went for first time since the restaurant renovated and it's a beautiful restaurant, not what you would expect in a little strip mall. We were very limited on time in between appointments and let them know upon arrival that we only had 30 minutes and asked if that was possible. They checked with kitchen beforehand as they had a couple large parties. They said if we ordered immediately, they could accommodate our timeframe. The server was very sweet and made sure we got our order in quickly and we had it faster than expected. I'm getting a rush order you never know what quality it will be. My husband ordered grouper tacos and I ordered the grouper sandwich. They were both delicious and I'd highly recommend both dishes. Came in for dinner at 8:05pm on a Tuesday. Totally empty. No one up front to greet us, bartender either didn't see us (yeah right) or pretended not to (most likely). Thought oh is it closed??? Says open til 9, was there a private event tonight we didn't know about? Nope. Someone from our three person party went into the kitchen to hunt someone down to see if we could be seated. Server finally came out a good while later-were the ONLY table inside. I think one table was outside and was done or finishing up, idk I couldn't see them. We ordered quickly, like we were ready. I asked for a soup TO START and a salad with protein as my main, and then the server hurried away from us, so I didn't have a chance to confirm with him I wanted the soup first. Food comes. Never got the soup. Someone else dropped off the food, so I asked if it was coming, got a weird look and a quick "oh crap he forgot" look, and recovered with it'll be out shortly. Cool. Server came out halfway thru our meals and I asked if I could get the soup...he paled and made up some excuse to why it wasn't ready yet....ok. By this point, I'm over it. Friend is done with his meal, other is almost done with his, I'm 3/4 of the way done. Finally brings the soup out. French onion. TASTELESS. No bread just cheese on the top that conglomerated into a thick ball and would take scissors to get thru it. Felt super rushed to get out, servers walking thru dining room eating/chewing on whatever dead snack was left in the kitchen from the rush. I get it. Hour before closing after a busy night (we only knew this because our server made it known they were SLAMMED earlier and it finally died down; never asked) three ppl walk in, yall just wanna be done n go home. However. We came in, knew what we wanted almost immediately, and didn't make a fuss about any of it. But cmon..Open til 9 isn't late. And we didn't dilly dally. Food was mid. Service not great. I think we visited on opening day or very close to it. Absolutely zero hiccups in service in spite of being newly opened. The food was amazing as was the patio seating outside. Not sure how the patio will work out in the summer, but we enjoyed it on a mild fall day. Prices were a bit in the high end, so I'm not sure we'll be frequent fliers, but definitely a great spot for a special meal with a special someone. The remodel from the previous tenant took a LONG time and I can see why. You'd never know from the new interior and patio. read more

This just opened in a Ponte Vedra Beach, always glad to have another restaurant open close by. This is my opinion only. Cons: very very loud inside when crowded, maybe even when it isn't. The acoustics are terrible for noise as it seems like everyone's voices from other tables are bouncing off the walls. We could hardly hear what others at our table were saying. Next time we will sit outside, weather permitting. Menu is fine, do think,it needs some tweaking, which I'm sure they will do as they find out what locals like to order, and what they don't. Pros: parking is good, service is good, good vibe outside with a big seating area and bar, with a big screen TV to watch games. read more

Tonight a big group came in on a Tuesday night from the wine bar from a birthday party we were all hungry. The manager was so rude and was cutting things off. I get it. It was close to 10. The staff at the local was trying to accommodate for drinks and food and the manager acted like he was doing us a favor. I have been going to the local in AB for years. Do better!! I will emphatically never go back to this location and will spread the word to my Roscoe friends. I left very disappointed. The manager was so rude. Ponte Vedra Woman's Club annual LUAU PARTY is being held at the new THE LOCAL restaurant and bar located in Ponte Vedra Beach where Woody's used to be at the corner of A1A AND Solano Rd. What a beautiful renovation they have done to the interior! The outdoor patio is fantastic and a great new destination place. The buffet dinner was superb with a true beachy flair. Great trained staff and management who aim to please. The event is a huge fundraiser for the club that awards grants to 5 local charities and gives 5 college scholarships to local high schoo seniors heading to college. We went to The Local when it first opened and the food was disappointing. Decided to try again with another couple Friday night and unfortunately the food was the same. Onion soup had no flavor, the special was fish and had to use a knife to cut it (first time I've ever had to use a knife and should not), steak was tough and what they call blue cheese stuffed olives is a tad bit of blue cheese on top of the pimento. Early dinner on a Sunday evening and we were surprised at how beautiful the renovations and dining room appeared. Very warm and comfortable furnishings. The service was excellent we were seated quickly. Cocktails and water service was prompt. Our waitress Emily was very helpful with suggestions. My husband and I ordered the black and red fish and the wasabi ginger salmon entrées. Everything was served promptly. Both our dishes were tasty satisfying and something we would order again. We've been SO excited for this to open in PV. We have been here twice now and both times, we hoped to sit outside. On our second visit, we made outside reservations. Upon arrival, we were told no outside tables were open and it should be no more than 20 minutes. After waiting an hour, we settled for inside. It was an extremely loud and unpleasant environment. My wife and I had dinner Saturday night April 11, with the exception of our waiter it was dreadful. My wife's French onion soup was terrible, virtually a bowl of broth with lightly sauté onions not caramelized onions and melted cheese. My shrimp and grits consisted of 5 rubbery shrimp with a weird variation of grits not Cajun as typically prepared. The $10 bread service wash 6 slices of very hard crusty bread. My husband and I ate at the newest site on Solana Road. The decor was welcoming and furniture very comfortable. We have previously eaten at the restaurant in Neptune Beach so it was nice to have one closer to our condo. The food was delicious. Both of us really enjoyed our meals.
