Everything is always made fresh and you can tell they carefully select their ingredients because the food quality is always top tier. My favorite is the veggie wrap with a side of fries. The Beach Diner, a breakfast and lunch place is in a strip shopping center on A1A, address 880. It is cheerful, with blue and yellow as the main wall colors. Our waitress Jojo was attentive, once she knew we were there in a back booth, which was kind of hidden. The scrambled eggs were prepared to perfection, the fruit was sweet, bacon was crispy and you had a choice of bread or a muffin. It was priced at $12.99, which was reasonable as prices are these days. The coffee was just OK, but we arrived just before they closed. The check came in a timely fashion. It's been awhile since I went out on a weekday for some brekky. I was dying for some French toast and this was a classically well done version. Nothing fancy, no fancy flavors. I think they were a little more like a hash - onions and all. The coffee was also good - and here is my only complain - a cup - not even a carafe at the table - was $3.75. Holy. Moly. (To be fair they may have included free refills - I didn't need that much coffee.) The service was absolutely wonderful! We did have a little trouble locating our waitress for the check at the end, but she was otherwise pretty present. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air before the day got too hot. The menu is extensive, offering breakfast and lunch, as well as about ten daily special dishes. Our party of three had the grilled chicken Cobb salad, the meatloaf special, and the godfather submarine. The Cobb salad was a very large size with lettuce, tomatoes, boiled egg, bacon, and blue cheese crumbles. The godfather sub was also a nice size and very tasty. The meatloaf was also good. Visited here with my mom and my 5 year old daughter. Mom and I shared the eggs on the bayou and my daughter had the kids waffles and bacon. You can get a double order of the eggs on the bayou for a very small up charge! We sat outside and there were plenty of open tables when we got there even though it was Saturday. (It was busier inside) My daughter is special needs and I usually find it easier to sit outside where there's a little more freedom. The service was good, our waitress was attentive. We have eaten here several times and it is consistently excellent. We went for Sunday brunch and there was a wait. However, tables were bussed quickly and the servers did a great job handling all of the tables. The food was delicious. I had the avocado toast which was slices of avocado with pico de gallo and a drizzle of balsamic, I believe. It was so fresh and tasty and very different from other avocado toasts I have tried. Fresh fruit was very fresh and flavorful and the roast beef sandwich was basic but delicious. They use a great marbled rye bread. This is the kind of a place that I probably rate a nine on a scale of 1 to 10, but I'll round up since my mother from New Jersey referred to this as the first "real diner" she experienced in Florida. Her definition of a real diner is a big menu with the availability to get breakfast well into the day. I had a Godfather sandwich which was good, but probably not the kind of item that I should be getting at a diner. The other two guests at the table had true diner food, and we're quite pleased. Service from Mackenzie S was quite friendly and efficient. Pricing was reasonable at about $25 per person all in including tip and tax, so we will certainly be back before too long. read more

I've been dining here for the last few years and it's still amazing! The staff is super nice, friendly & helpful. They all seem happy to be working there. The food came about 10 minutes after ordering so they have pretty fast service. The diner isn't too loud either, can still carry a conversation perfectly without any noise or distractions. This review is for a visit that took place in November 2023. Two of us were on special eating programs which required modifications of the menu items as presented. The modifications were made for us with no issue and provided exactly what we were requesting and it was all delicious!!! Well we were a party of four arriving today Sunday at about 10:10 am. We put our name in and were told the wait would only be" a few minutes". Half an hour later I asked the young lady how much longer it would be " you're coming up next". Meanwhile people that arrived AFTER we did were seated ahead of us. 50 minutes after arrival we were seated. The service was good, and the food was ok not five star. It's breakfast, not that hard. Paying Ponte Vedra prices for a 50 minute wait for breakfast isn't worth it. What's disappointing is the fact that their other location in Amelia Island is so good, compared to this one. We stopped in for quick breakfast on our way to the Jacksonville Airport. It's a beautiful stretch of driving from St Augustine and the neighborhood seemed quite nice. Inside the restaurant is very charming, decorated in a lot of white and blue. The paintings of the doggies in swim suits were super cute. We sat outside to enjoy our last bit of warm weather. There were several families outside as well and even two doggies. It rained on and off a few times but the large awning kept us dry. Our server was very pleasant but a bit forgetful. We asked for creamer for our coffee but she never came back with any. After two requests, she finally brought it over with an apology. My veggie omelet was fantastic! Large fresh vegetables and crispy hash browns made my meal. My friend enjoyed a breakfast sandwich with home potatoes. I tried a taste of her potatoes and loved them as well. I went to this place after going to Mickler's Beach. I was headed to more of a fast food breakfast but this place was in the same parking lot. After seeing it had a good yelp rating-I decided to try it out. Angela was my server and she was great. I was having a hard time deciding and she helped me in choosing the ultimate-eggs over easy, sausage, bacon, grits, hash browns with cheese, ANNNND pancakes. I knew I would need a box. I got half and half iced tea. Well let me tell you the food was amazing. So often over easy are overcooked-not these. The sausage and bacon were great. The grits were perfect. Usually these are thick and don't seem fresh at other places. Not these. Warm , perfect consistency. But...those potatoes. I am not exaggerating-may be the BEST potatoes I have EVER had. There was onion in every bite-sweet onion I think. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. They just about melted in your mouth. I took the pancakes home (they were great) and half the other stuff. It was just as good reheated the next day. Amazing. So husband comes up-and I take him there two days later. Missed Angela but we got Shelby this time. She was also excellent in helping us select. I forget what we got but we got over easy eggs. I got sausage patties this time (excellent). My husband is so fussy about tea-and agreed theirs was great. A PVB breakfast standard. We really enjoy Beach Diner. We're generally a Saturday AM patron, so can't speak to mid-week, but on the weekends there is usually a pretty good crowd. But the wait isn't to bad and they do have outdoor seating which is a plus (outside of July and August). Let's start with the food: My standard is the eggs benedict. I try them everywhere. Beach diner does a nice job with this meal. Its listed as "one" benedict, but ordering a 2nd (odd, because two is pretty standard) only add a couple bucks to your meal. But the sauce and eggs are done well an I enjoyed it. Plenty of healthy options as well as other standards like buttermilk pancakes, a ton of omelet choices and grits. They also serve lunch items, had a very nice club sandwich there. There isn't one meal that just stands out for me though so I can't really point the finger in exclamation saying "GET THIS!" But we are keeping it in our breakfast rotation. read more
