[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great little diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I only stopped by for a coffee, it's the one thing that can make your day or spoil it when tastes a little burnt. Whelp I had 3 because it was perfect, and perfect every time. Although I didn't have a bite this time, I looked at the menu and at other tables and this is a place that gets it. The pancakes next to me looked fluffy and hot right off the grill. The bacon that I was wasn't over done. Hash browns weren't greasy. If this Diner wasn't all the way across town, this would be my breakfast spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the home team support, friendly staff and overall great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ok this place makes their own corn beef hash. Even if you don't eat corn beef you will fall in love after eating this! Their grits are also cooked well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is an old school diner with a counter and merch and I love that they have cats on TV.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great and I would return! There are other things that caught my eye on the menu but I think I'll get the corn beef hash again!

Husband and I went to University Diner for dinner tonight. We were greeted by the new owner (son took over recently) and our waitress was very pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant was bright and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband ordered- Country Fried Steak dinner and I ordered- Tuna Salad Sample. For Dessert- Apple pie. Food was very delicious; we cleaned our plate. We definitely will be going back to University Diner again.

Juiciest, huge Cheeseburger with all the fixings.

Another outstanding meal at UD. Their cheeseburgers are huge. It takes two hands to pick it up. The service was awesome as usual. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love what you're doing to the place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've never heard of this place but seen it every time I go to the Dairy Queen close by. My husband and I decided to try it out one morning. I think it's a small mom and pop joint. Order: French toast, diner breakfast The diner breakfast included of eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, all of which were under seasoned. The French toast were okay, just okay.

Haven't been here in years! Looking forward to seeing how it is today!

And, well, my sons both have the facial fur thing going on, so the name got my attention as well! I stopped by for lunch today with one of my sons. We decided to order the Steak Wrap, the Murphy Chorizo Burrito, and an order of loaded Hash Rounds. Our food was ready in about 5 minutes! We brought it home to eat, but I have to tell you, the tantalizing aroma of all those spices and goodness was enough to make me want to rip open my box right there in the car! This is some of THE BEST food I've had anywhere in a long time! The grilled veggies (peppers & onions) were perfect-not too hard, not too soft (although personally I prefer mine a bit softer, I think the Bearded Chef has it just right, cooked to please almost anyone. The steak in my wrap was tender. Cheese oozed out of everything! My sons burrito was equally tasty with all sorts of flavors combining to make really an ultimate burrito. The Loaded Hash Rounds are plump fried mounds of potato (handmade) with chorizo sausage, cheese and topped with lime crema. Go to the Bearded Chef website Beardedchefbrunch.com or call 904-772-5976 to check out the hours as they can vary. And then go get you some AmAziNg grub at the Bearded Chef Food Truck!

We also got some lattes to fuel our morning and I opted for their special brown butter sesame latte -- yum! The bakery itself is very cute with some market and pantry items available to shop as well. The staff was very patient as we asked a million questions about all the pastries before making our selections. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the downtown Jax area!

The pork chop looked good, but it didn't seem seasoned, and there wasn't enough gravy on it to really be considered smothered. My husband's soda also had a strange aftertaste, which wasn't pleasant. I know every restaurant can have an off day, and because we've had great experiences here in the past, we'll definitely give them another chance. They greeted me as soon as I walked in, asked the right questions, and made me feel welcome. However, there was a young man who was incredibly rude. The first thing he said to me was, "What are you picking up?" I responded, "Let's start with a hello. How are you?" Instead of acknowledging that, he simply repeated the same question. At that point, I walked over to the ladies, who were extremely kind and helpful. Now, onto the food. I'm genuinely not trying to let my customer service experience influence my opinion, but I have to be honest--the food was pathetic. It lacked seasoning and flavor. Even after adding the salt and pepper packets that came with the utensils, it only made a slight difference. Unfortunately, nothing about the meal would make me want to come back. Even my one-year-old refused to eat it, which meant we had to spend even more money to get food somewhere else. The one highlight was the biscuit. I believe it was homemade, and it was genuinely delicious--probably the best part of the meal. Aside from that, I can't recommend the food based on my experience.
