This self service place comes in clutch for the morning coffee while I was visiting. I didn't try any of the food but the menu is pretty big and there's a lot of good looking food coming off of the line. It was pretty slammed when I was there so the employees were in the weeds for sure. But I was happy with my espresso. The location is right in the 5 points area so the walk factor is legit. The seating outside is probably my favorite part. Who doesn't like sitting on picnic tables in the end right. read more

This is a really good place for açai smoothie bowls in Jacksonville, FL! They have two locations in Jax, but I visited the one in Riverside off of Oak Street. Their menu has a lot of fresh and healthy food options like smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt bowls, breakfast wraps, and my favorite - avocado toast They also have a full-service coffee bar with espresso and iced coffee! I ordered the SoCal acai bowl topped with: -bananas -granola -peanut butter -honey They're very generous with the portions too! The staff was friendly, offered some recommendations, and were accommodating with adding or removing items from some of the things we ordered. I LOVED the flavor of the tempeh & mix of avocado, spinach, kimchi, & tasty sauces served with it. I also got an iced coffee with the housemade seasonal syrup, ginger snap. I would have preferred a cold brew! The coffee was a little weak, so I'm glad I ordered it without ice. Very little syrup was added, so I asked for a bit more, which made it perfect. When we arrived, we found this pleasant environment with ample seating outside. As we began to review the menu, the manager of the shop was very friendly and helpful in navigating their menu. Ultimately, I decided to sample the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. It was quite good. I believe they used a cheddar that was a bit strong for my taste and would have preferred some milder cheese options (like provolone). Regardless, it was tasty. My only complaint (and this may be specific to me) is that they did not have a cola flavored diet drink to offer. Yes, I admit, I need my Diet Coke with my meal. Stumbled upon this place near 5 points that serves a variety of "healthier" foods-- bowls, wraps etc. in a Chipotle like format. My wife and daughter each had bowl variations of the 'farmer'--a bowl filled with organic eggs, organic fresh greens (one was with mixed greens and the other spinach), peppers + onions, avocado, cucumber quickles, avocado cilantro lime sauce, and house seasoning. This Vegetarian dish can also be had as a wrap. Both bowls also contained deliciously spiced potatoes as well. Both versions were delicious and came in very generous portions. My grandson had a value meal of nacho spuds that he gobbled up. I had a Mediterranean bowl that contained dry rubbed organic chicken thigh, peppers + onions, cucumber quickles, feta cheese, healthy grain mix and cashew tzatziki. This dish was absolutely delicious and employees said that this was one of their most popular dishes. Everything on the menu seems customizable and there is plenty of complimentary double osmosis filtered tap water as well as other flavored and bottled waters for purchase if preferred. Atmosphere is fairly plain but my only and biggest complaint is the ordering procedure-- there are two touchscreens that you can order from but when I was there neither was working properly. You can also order from two registers on either side of the long counter but be careful as one only rakes cash and the other only takes cards which seems unnecessarily confusing. However, if you're looking for a cornucopia of healthy options and you're in Riverside/5 Points area, Homespun Kitchen is a nice option. read more

Stopped in to satisfy my Acai bowl craving so I came to 5 points around lunch time. Parking was a little tough but to be expected. I parked a bit far and walked down to Homespun. I ordered the SoCal acai bowl to-go which came with pb butter, honey, granola and bananas. Very fulfilling and exactly what I needed to satisfy the craving on a hot Florida day. We all got different bowls, from build your own to Mediterranean bowl. The vibe in Homespun was good as they played the new SZA album in the background. Our food took about 10 minutes and it was very fresh. We all had the dry rubbed chicken which was perfectly seasoned and very juicy. My favorite topping still remains to be their cucumber salad. It is tangy and fresh and just compliments the bowl. They have a great variety of dressings that are perfect for vegans as well with their dairy free option like the cashew tzatziki and cilantro lime cashew aioli. Homespun Kitchen has a modern, health-focused vibe that's typical of many cafes these days. It's a bit on the pricey side for what you get, though. The service was slower than expected--20 minutes for a lemonade and an acai bowl with only one person ahead of us. The lemonade was a bit too sweet, and it tasted more like concentrated syrup. Luckily, they offer free water on the side, so you can dilute it to your liking--basically, getting two drinks for the price of one. The acai bowl, however, was disappointing. It was more of a banana-based blend with a hint of acai, and as someone who's not a fan of bananas in anything, it was a letdown. The banana flavor was too strong, and it seemed like they were just diluting the acai with banana to stretch the portions. I also ordered agave on top of my bowl, but they forgot to add it, which was frustrating. On the plus side, the place is clean, and I do like the kiosk ordering setup, so you don't have to interact too much with staff. Overall, not a bad experience, but not great either. I ordered the chicken plate. It came with a hefty portion of chicken as well as street corn, about a 1/4 of an avocado, black beans, steamed rice with an avocado dipping sauce for the chicken. The staff was very friendly. They are dog friendly having an outdoor space with multiple picnic tables that is covered and has a gravel bottom. They have kiosks so you can take your time ordering, and they have a register if you need to order with a cashier. The service was a bit slow considering how empty it was but it was worth the wait! The vibe inside is very hipster and bright - soooo cute! I tried the Mini Sweet Heat Wrap ($5.50) with the sauce on the side and wow was it good. The sauce is the perfect amount of spice and I loved the turkey bacon. I also got a Small Make-Your-Own Acai Bowl with granola, strawberries, blueberries, almond butter, and agave ($8.50 altogether, it was $6.25 to start, plus each topping was $0.75 except the agave and granola). Sooo good! It was a little melted by the time I got it, but it tasted amazing and satisfied by sweet tooth. My boyfriend tried the Regular Egg and Cheese Wrap with Ham and Sriracha added ($8.75 altogether, it was $6.25 to start, plus the ham was $2 and the sriracha was $0.50). He really liked his as well. We also got the Large 20oz Strawberry Lemonade ($4) which was so fresh and yummy. I can't wait to come back and try some more items!
