Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my bestie trying out their Arepas! It was a little after lunch rush but still had a good number of customers in the restaurant. The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Overall, wonderful experience at the restaurant of the food, service and great interior feeling creating a great ambiance. Definitely will visit again and try out more menu items. read more

Love the arepas here! I tried the beef and chicken arepas. Both delicious. They give you a green sauce and a cream sauce to add to it. Service can determine based on the day of the week and how busy this place can get. Exocet to wait longer during rush hours on the weekend. I have also tried the natural fruit juices and they do not disappoint. Staff is very friendly as well. There is plenty of seating inside but the parking situation can be a little hectic as there is only a small lot for a couple of cars. They share the lot with another business. read more

When the line is out the door, you know you chose correctly! I was around the corner with friends at Zorbas rooftop bar and Debbie needed some food- empanadas on the way! I love the vibes- the huge mural outside I have admired for years, inside the art continues- I loved the painting on the far wall and the lighting to change the colors/look. Over all a good experience. The service was quick and the staff was super friendly our food came out pretty quickly considering it was a Friday night. This was my first time trying arepas and it was delicious, so love trying new cuisine. I ordered the San Marco made with black beans, avocado and cheese. The warm corn arepa was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and absolutely delicious. The side sauce was very tasty and even added more flavor to this wonderful Venezuelan sandwich. Very cute, eclectic spot to enjoy a quick lunch. Even though there were only 3 people that were working and only 1 person cooking, each order, they were very efficient. When I walked in on a random Tuesday afternoon, I was the only patron. Immediately greeted by two smiling gentlemen behind the counter, they helped me pick an arepa and a soursop juice (bonus points for uniqueness and flare!!). I sat down in one of the booths and admired the moving art piece on the east wall and the happy plants in the windows. When my food arrived, the arepa had perfect grill marked and was packed to the max with pork, plantains, black beans, and this green saucy sauce which I could bathe in. I had to use a fork to eat some of the filling before I could pick it up and get a true sandy experience. It was yummy, and I would eat it again, but I wish the arepa was a touch thicker so that creamy crunchy bread-like texture could balance all the fillings. Also, the vintage playboy art on the west wall made me realize I probably wouldn't bring my kids there in the future - not that it's advertising as a kid place or that it should - but for me, it's something to consider when picking a place.
