I got the pabellon arepa and taqueños to go and there was a very short wait (they make the arepas fresh!), but it was so good. I also enjoyed house made mango juice which was very refreshing on a hot summer day. Parking is a bit tight, but there's more parking within walking distance. Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my bestie trying out their Arepas! It was a little after lunch rush but still had a good number of customers in the restaurant. The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Love the arepas here! I tried the beef and chicken arepas. Both delicious. They give you a green sauce and a cream sauce to add to it. Service can determine based on the day of the week and how busy this place can get. Exocet to wait longer during rush hours on the weekend. The arepa itself is exactly what you want: crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and holds together like a sandwich. My friend ordered the Fancy Monkey which included fried plantains, queso blanco, black beans and avocado. She said it was very yummy. I also ordered the Jax Blonde (shredded beef) to-go for my bf but had a taste. It was also flavorful but I preferred my Just Cheese a tad bit more. We also shared a side of fried yucca. This was my first time trying arepas and it was delicious, so love trying new cuisine. I ordered the San Marco made with black beans, avocado and cheese. The warm corn arepa was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and absolutely delicious. The side sauce was very tasty and even added more flavor to this wonderful Venezuelan sandwich. Very cute, eclectic spot to enjoy a quick lunch. Even though there were only 3 people that were working and only 1 person cooking, each order, they were very efficient. There were about 10 people behind me and all were served in less than 15 mins. Wish I had tried sooner and will definitely go back for more of these little treasures. The food here is delicious! Try the Mona chicken! The Arepas are simply chock full of their ingredients, so much so it's a challenge to finish one. The cachapas are like corn pancakes that can be stuffed with cheese or meats. And they make phenomenal coffee, too. We eat here at least 3 times a month. read more
