    TEQUEÑOS.
    Allison C.

We dined in on a weekend. We started with an order of tequeños which were good although the cheese wasn't as melty as I had thought they would be. We got a grilled chicken wrap and a domino arepa. Both came out piping hot. The arepa was generously filled and came with a delicious green sauce. The wrap was crispy and the fillings were a bit soggy but tasty. Overall we would eat here again.

Whenever i am craving food that tastes like home, here is where i come! I always have the Pabellon and it is amazing every single time. Service is fast and the staff is always happy to be there. I love the ambiance, it always includes great music that i can vibe to while i enjoy my meal.

Love the arepas here! I tried the beef and chicken arepas. Both delicious. They give you a green sauce and a cream sauce to add to it. Service can determine based on the day of the week and how busy this place can get. Exocet to wait longer during rush hours on the weekend. I have also tried the natural fruit juices and they do not disappoint. Staff is very friendly as well. There is plenty of seating inside but the parking situation can be a little hectic as there is only a small lot for a couple of cars. They share the lot with another business.

Great arepas and empanadas, small local feeling place with friendly quick service. Parking lot may be a little bit tight

When the line is out the door, you know you chose correctly! I was around the corner with friends at Zorbas rooftop bar and Debbie needed some food- empanadas on the way! I love the vibes- the huge mural outside I have admired for years, inside the art continues- I loved the painting on the far wall and the lighting to change the colors/look. The line was moderate- I probably had the smallest order with simply one beef empanada and one chicken empanada- both were so yummy and I was thrilled to see the green dip! I only took a bite of each and left it to Debbie- but super yummy- my other half would love them here! And no that I have finally made it in, I want to try more!!!

Over all a good experience. The service was quick and the staff was super friendly our food came out pretty quickly considering it was a Friday night. My only complaint was that the arepa was extra crispy. The chicken was HOT and the plantain was perfect. Loved all the plants and how clean the restaurant looked over all.

We went here during peak lunch time (12:30 on a Saturday) and luckily were able to snatch the last table open. There was a constant influx of people going in and out! Super cool decor and a fast paced environment. Food was amazingly good. This was my introduction to Venezuelan food and dang it was a good one!!!

Yummy carryout lunch for a quick break with my daughter this week. So many wonderful options to choose from with fresh ingredients. I ordered the San Marcos arepa with black beans, avocado, and queso blanco. Definitely fork and knife eating but so good. We also got an order of fries to share and they were super crispy and delicious.

Cute little downtown spot -- small but charming, with a whole wall of avocado cuttings propagating in glass jars, which adds a nice touch of green. Walked in on a Saturday around noon and it was surprisingly calm. A few people trickling in, but not noisy at all. Great weekend vibes. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Service was quick and smooth. I got the Queen and the Porko Loko arepas -- both hit different notes and were really good. The Porko Loko leans a bit more American in flavor, with BBQ pulled pork energy, but it works. Salty-savory and juicy, and the cotija crumble adds a great contrast. The arepa itself is exactly what you want: crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and holds together like a sandwich. The Queen is a cold arepa filled with avocado chicken salad, and they're very generous with the avocado. Light, fresh, and creamy -- perfect balance to the richness of the pork one. We also added yuca fries (sold separately), which were hot, crispy, and not too greasy. Only knock? Would've loved a water cup option without having to buy a drink. But overall, everything was super tasty and I'd definitely come back.

Ordered lunch from here while in the area. I got the chicken arepa it was delicious and loaded with meat. It came with a green sauce that was delicious as well. Only thing I'd say is it could have had a little less mayo. But other than that it was great would visit again.

Cute little spot near the beach. It's decorated so cutely with beautiful pictures. The arepas were delicious and came out quickly. I will be back!

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

Yesterday was my first visit, and I ordered the Reuben sliders, the regular Reuben, a turkey slider, and the beer cheese soup. Everything was absolutely delicious! I also tried the key lime cookie, and it was so good that I had to go back today for another one. Because my first experience was so great, I returned the very next day to try something different. This time, I had the sausage and chicken gumbo, along with (yes!) another key lime cookie. The gumbo was flavorful and comforting--definitely a great choice. What truly stood out the most, though, was the service. On my first visit, my waitress--who was also managing--along with another server, were incredibly polite and courteous. Although I can't remember their names, they were both exceptional. Today, I had the best cashier/server who even brought me a sample of the gumbo before I ordered. I also met the kitchen manager, who was friendly and confident about the dish, and the general manager came out to introduce himself and was very welcoming. This place is a 10 out of 10! I will absolutely be coming back on my next visit to Jacksonville. I love this place! Kesha Bentley #MississippiGirl

My go-to is the Hoss burger, because I love the onion rings and special sauce, but their steaks (ribeye and tenderloin) are also perfectly aged and fresh off the butcher block. This is a small deli with seating tucked away on a neighborhood street where you're guaranteed to be greeted with a friendly smile by someone willing to answer any questions you may have.
