Plenty of parking options and an accessible location with lots of indoor seating (no outdoor seating from what I saw). Visited on a Friday morning at around 9AM and the place was busy, but not packed. Friendly staff who immediately made drinks that were ordered after taking the order (order was just cold brew - very simple). High quality coffee in the Jax area that I highly recommend.

BOLD BEAN '26 (Riverside) - Afterthoughts... Not my first visit, and certainly not my last! This very hippy, laid-back spot is one I frequented often in my pre-COVID downtown workdays, and I'm happy to find myself returning more regularly in 2026--especially since their partnership with Coffee (JAVA) Culture, which supports local coffee shops around town and beyond. Bold Bean has always been a well-kept, spotless, and spacious café--perfect for meet-ups, studying, or simply enjoying your caffeine fix while admiring local art displayed throughout the shop. Service was neat, friendly, and refreshingly quick. Order: Large take-away Honey Latte with oat milk + extra shot (3 total). The taste was just as I remembered: a clean first sip with zero burnt aftertaste. Well done. (Next time I'll ask for extra honey--lesson learned from my BFF.) Noticed they now have a dedicated pick-up order area, which I'll definitely be trying very soon. A must-try and repeat spot. .5 out of 5 (4.5 of 5)

The milkiest, void of coffee, vanilla latte I've ever had the displeasure of paying good money for.

Bold Bean has been my favorite coffee in Jax for years. After my third recent visit, and the coffee constantly being mostly milk and almost having no coffee flavor, I am done. Sad sad times. Absolutely horrible.

This is a great coffee shop! A lot of space to sit. Great set up and aesthetics! Coffee was real tasty as well!

We were looking for a coffee shop on our way to Orlando! We stopped by for a cup of coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere and open concept, however, I didn't love the flavor. The coffee was on the sour side which I'm not used to. Staff were friendly and responsive.

The coffee is okay but we prefer to just make it at home because it tastes better. The food is also okay but they really need to have a menu for their food items along with prices. I paid just under $7 for a bacon and egg sandwich (ok, reasonable) and $10 for the croissant sandwich that just had sliced meat and cheese, not even a top. Pictured is my $19 breakfast with no drinks or sides. Was not good. Next time we will go to Starbucks

Bold Bean Coffee Roasters in Riverside is a solid stop for fresh, well-made coffee in a clean, cozy space. The baristas were friendly. Coffee was the highlight for me, though the croissant fell a bit short of expectations.

If you are looking for a great local coffee shop with a hipster/chill vibe - definitely stop into Bold Bean. I stopped in to grab an iced matcha latte and catch up on some work. I did park on the side street at no cost. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday mid morning however I was able to find a table to sit at. I got a chance to watch the barista make my matcha and I was pretty impressed. Some places I have been to have it pre-made however, she literally took her time to whisk the matcha powder with hot water. It was pretty good as it was paired with almond milk. This was not sweet at all which I enjoyed unlike a lot of commercialized coffee shops. Working here was a great vibe and atmosphere. Everyone was so productive and it just made a perfect afternoon to get tasks completed. They do have free wifi and extended outlets for charging purposes. Whenever I'm in Jax, I will definitely come back to this coffee shop for not only a pick me up but a productive afternoon.

Very first time coffee drinker friendly! The menu explains the different milk ratios and sizes of cappuccino, macchiato, and latte. There are 5 options for pour overs, with the origins listed. We tried the Burundi Nyagishiru pour over and it has a delicious taste and a richness - not too fruity or floral, and not bitter. The coffee process were also reasonable. There's a lot of seating and beautiful art on the walls. The cappuccino was also well made with an option of all different milks, to include almond, oat, whole, and skim. The parking in the area is street parking and it is free.

Super cute coffee spot! We ordered vanilla iced lattes, chocolate croissants and cinnamon sugar croissant and mango popsicles! The croissants were delicious. They served them warm. I would have liked for them to pf plated them as I had flakes of pastry all over the table. The coffee was solid. I ordered a medium iced vanilla latte. It came with 2 shots. I personally like a strong latte and next time I come I would order a extra shot in my latte. Mango popsicles were delicious.

Nice ambience with plenty of room to work or socialize.

Nice place and good selection of coffee and food. They offer hard boiled eggs at a great price which is nice to pair with the delicious pastries! Would love to see a few creative tea drinks on the menu but overall highly recommend!

I'm looking for a quiet wifi spot to do work and enjoy a cup of joe... other than Starbucks. How's Bold Bean? Open for any other suggestions!

Even though it was busy it never got loud while we were there. My husband and I went on a Saturday morning if that helps.

I was there for a Cheeselandia event and I must say they picked a lovely spot. As soon as I walked in I noticed all of the plants scattered throughout the space. And the presence of the plants instantly gave me a peaceful feeling. I took home a piece of cake as well as a piece of spinach quiche. Both were delicious but my favorite was the quiche. The piece was big enough for me to have it two days in a row. Service was friendly and inviting. There was also a huge patio and a parking lot. They host regular events such as trivia night which I learned from reading the flyer on the bathroom wall. And they are open later than a regular coffee house. I suggest stopping in and checking them out!

The chai specifically was made from the generic tazo concentrate served in every chain coffee shop. The ambiance of the store was very nice tho. I loved the plants draped all around & the fact that they were for sale. Lastly, I also wish there was better seating there was one couch but otherwise you're stuck with hard plastic chairs and tables inside. The space is not good for lounging for an extended period of time.

When we ordered, he mumbled back and forth and seemingly didn't understand our relatively simple order, which was a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich and a PBJ on a bagel. My wife also got an iced coffee drink. The man at the counter had an attitude with us the whole time, especially after my wife asked for an iced coffee rather than the hot coffee he served. He was huffing and slamming doors and dishes, and it was really unnerving. The most egregious part was the cost. For the above three items, this man actually charged $31. I didn't even bother to argue with him and just paid the tab. There's no way we weren't overcharged, but I'm equally certain he would have resisted any attempt to examine the bill or gotten angrier... over nothing. We didn't say anything or do anything to this man other than place the order and return the hot coffee, which was his mistake. The whole atmosphere was uncomfortable, and I will strongly recommend no one visit Old Cup cafe. You will be ripped off, or retaliated against, and you will not enjoy the experience. Places like this need to just go out of business, and I can't imagine they're long for this world with so many better and more affordable spots in Avondale. Head to Southern Grounds and avoid Old Cup at all costs.

It's like visiting a neighbors for a quiet morning cup plus all of the pastries are fresh baked on premises each morning. YUM
