I was in the Riverside area and decided that it was essential that I found me a Boba place. I stumbled upon. Tutem Tea and was pleased surprised. The establishment is very easy to miss and sits on the very end with not a lot of signage. It was a little warm inside but definitely gave a very mom and Pop vibe. There is a sign in the front at the front register that says "press the button if you want Boba". I pressed the button twice. The cashier was pleasant but he seemed to be one of the few people working so he was doing a little bit of everything. He made my drink quickly and it wasn't as sweet as I expected but it was still decent. Im also used to boba teas being a little colder - it almost like more ice needed to be added. It did get better as I drank it. I do believe I would ask for extras to get the sweetness right. read more

I have been waiting so long for a boba spot on this side of town! Totem Tea is attached to the Dim Sum restaurant next door so it's a great two for one spot. Focusing on the boba, they have a good selection of flavors and their tapioca boba is prepared well. I like getting the matcha or taro flavor. They are made to order and you can control your sweetness level which is great. They also have a good selection of flavors and that is always a bonus. The service is generally quick and enjoyable. The cafe side is also very nicely decorated and clean. It is a pretty standard boba spot but it's great you can hop over just a few steps and stay in for food at the connected dim sum restaurant. read more

I love that S&R dim sum has Tutem Tea adjacent to the restaurant. Located on Margaret Street across the Memorial Park, this is a wonderful addition to the many establishments in Riverside. Tutem Tea boba is usually good. I will say.. I've had Tutem Tea before (on Beach Blvd) and this is my first time getting boba at this location. This may be an off day for them. I ordered their Uji Matcha Tea with Cheese foam. The boba was over cooked. The matcha and cheese foam were delicious though. I just wish the boba wasn't so slimy! Overall an ok drink today. An acquaintance told me about this spot as I was looking for a grapefruit green tea. However when I got here they didn't have that on the menu, the item they have close is the half citrus and half lime tea however they were sold out already we ended up ordering the fruit tea and now we are IN LOVE with the fruit tea! I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much when I walked into this boba spot, mainly because I have so many boba spots near where I live in Atlanta and the competition there is fierce. The staff person behind the cash register was nice and she also put our drinks together. It came out quickly and it tasted refreshing and not too sweet. (Normally I ask for less sweet drinks, but I forgot this time, but the drink was made perfectly, anyways). I got a small yari milk tea. They were out of regular tapioca so I got white boba instead. My husband got a rose milk tea with no ice. They forgot about the order detail and still put ice in the drink. We already walked away and didn't want to bother with getting the drink remade so we just dealt with the extra ice. Both drinks were great and tasted like their flavors should. The environment inside was quiet with ample seating and large tables, so one could even pop in there to get some work done or hang out for a bit. For me, it was a bit messy and could use a little upkeep/decluttering, but the experience inside went so smoothly I'd still give it 5 stars. Tutem Tea no longer exists. I went into the Poke Bowl place and they had boba so I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba at their recommendation. The tea itself was very tasty and sweet. Made me think of ice cream. The tapioca bobas were not great. They were a little too chewy and had hard pieces in the middle of each one. Kinda felt like a plastic-y texture. I don't really recommend going here for boba. Yelp needs to remove this location or update it to be part of Poke Bowl. read more

In my family we always two things are always true! 1) We try new places. 2) We LOVE trying new boba spots. The reviews looked promising minus the one off reviews. Despite those reviews we gave it a shot, buy those low ratings were very accurate. The shop is awkwardly attached to a Dim Sum restaurant. The counters of the boba shop look like they were just thrown together and holding on for dear life. There is a cluster of junk all over the counters (mostly boxes). We ordered the Taro Milk with Boba (add tea) and the the Mango Coconut Milk with Boba. Kinda strange that the Taro Milk was not a milk tea. I had to pay extra for the tea. The taro tea was all right. It was not overly sweet which I liked but it didn't have that nice Taro flavor I typically experience in other Taro tea. The Taro is made with powder which I prefer over the actual Taro root, but the flavor was underwhelming. The Mango Coconut Milk was awful!!!! The gentle man puréed a fresh mango with water and ice, added coconut milk and some boba. It was so bland and watery. We just threw it out. The boba texture was a 2/5. The boba had great chewiness but had no sweetness at all. And it was goopy and stuck together. This made it extremely difficult to get through the straw. When making the drink the boba plopped into the cup. That's definitely not how boba should be served. The staff was extremely friendly, but the boba was not worth the $13. My favorite boba shops in the area are Aroma Corner and Tsaocaa! The prices are about the same but the quality and store fronts are much much better! read more

The quality of the tea isn't as good anymore. I got the avocado smoothie with boba and they didn't even add sugar in my drink. This was the worst boba drink I've had. Especially for $7. The watermelon slush was mediocre. I wasn't really greeted when I came in and the kids had the music blasted loud. Said the owner was out and they were out of a lot of ingredients. I take back my experience from the past. Maybe it's just the kids working the store but they should be able to do a lot better. It was pretty much a waste of my money. I left them a tip and they didn't even thank me or say goodbye. I made the mistake of drinking the boba when I got home instead of trying it first before I left. Aside from placing an order first, we didn't get our order until after a couple people who ordered after us got ours. Everytime I go I like to try something different, and I love bringing my friends and visitors here! I have been going to S&R dim sum for quite sometime and I was always so sad to see no one in there. Such great food and service. I hadn't gone for months and I finally came back this month and OMG they added a Tutem Tea inside where they used to have the bar (that no one ever used lol). I was ECSTATIC guys. I never go to the original Tutem Tea cause it's so damn far from my place. This location is more spacious and perfect for dessert after eating some siu mai The first time I tried the matcha milk tea but it wasn't sweet at all (I found out later that you have to specify the sweetness level but hey my dude didn't ask lol) much better the second time I came in! Ordered the customer favorite of the Caramel Milk Tea with added Boba. Yes, it is very sweet and way more sugar than I personally needed. But it was cold and delicious on this hot afternoon. Whats really cool is you can get boba tea and dim sum all in the same spot!. I've never had Tutem Tea before so when i learned that they opened a location in the Riverside area, which is closer for me. I was very excited to try them out. I went out there Saturday after noon after I got me car alignment done. I ordered the salted caramel boba tea. Absolutely delicious bob tea that i have never tried before. What was really cool was that later that day Tutem Team DM about their concerns that the tea they made that day wasn't strong enough and ask if I was satisfied. I replied yes I was satisfied but did notice the tea wasn't strong how I liked it to be. They said next time I visit I get a free drink on them just show the message. That right there goes to show they go out and beyond to make sure customer satisfaction is 100! read more
