    Mango fruit tea
    Maisha R.

Da Bang is the boba and dessert vendor in the food court at the Lotte Market. It offers a few milk teas, fruit teas, sparking fruit teas, and ice creams. After eating in the food court and shopping in the market, I headed over to grab a boba tea on my way out. I got the mango tea ($6.50) with boba added ($0.60). It was made quickly and it looked good. But with 100% sweetness, I was expecting a slightly different taste. After the first few sips, it was very bitter. I assumed it was due to the large orange and lime slices, which seemed out of place anyway for mango tea. Additionally, with the large pieces of fruit and the significant amount of ice, it was very challenging to get any of the boba up. And when it did get up the straw, it was slimy and sticky and actually got stuck in the straw. I think this place is still trying to find its footing. But with the great traffic at the market, hopefully they will tweak a few things and do well as the lone boba spot there.

I got the mango milk tea. The workers are young and efficient here!! It was packed but they had a good system and it came out in a good amount of time. They give a lot of boba and milk tea. It was yummy and a good, cold treat after grocery shopping.

Passion fruit sparkling with lychee jelly

The checkout is fast and efficient. I had a hard time choosing between the passion fruit and lychee so I went with passion fruit with lychee jelly. I chose the 25% sugar level which was still very sweet.

Some restaurants surprise you with one great dish. Others deliver a memorable experience from start…read moreto finish. Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. My husband ordered the ribeye and his was medium, his was also spot on. Then of course, we had to get dessert. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. The only negative thing that I would say is that it's a bit cramped, so it was very loud and hard to hear each other at points. This was an amazing dinner. We will be back

Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! Would absolutely request him in the future.

Mai Xiang Garden Bakery - Delicious but I wish it was packed in sustainable packaging, and the size was larger. It is very small for $5 and change after tax.

I made it my mission to find the and send her fresh mooncakes. I was thankful for this establishment, as they had five different flavors of mooncakes. This was the only place I located, close enough to Callahan, that actually sells mooncakes. They are located inside of R & D International Market. The bakery is well stocked with a very off sweet treats or savory baked goods. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They labeled each mooncake so we knew the flavors, as they are indivvidually wrapped. We shipped them overnight to her. We also bought doubles so we could try them.as well. The flavors were black sesame, green tea, pineapple, red bean and lotus. The black sesame and red bean were very dense. The lotus and green tea were a lighter texture with great flavor. Our favorite was the lotus with the red bean in second place. It is a quiet, quaint spot among the food court with a few tables to enjoy your purchase while you are there.

The next morning, we had the sausage and scallion bun at home. I liked it, maybe more than the pork bun, and would get it again, though it had the advantage of being reheated at home in the microwave. My wife liked the dough, the hot dog less so (and I must admit the hot dog in the croissant we had a while ago at Cruffin & Tea was better). I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.
