I was on southside blvd and needed to pass some time. I wanted some coffee and Brass Tacks caught my eye. The parking right in front isn't the best but there is ample parking in the shops surrounding the business. The environment was lowkey with several patrons on laptops or catching up with friends. I had no idea what I wanted but definitely wanted to try their drinks and a biscuit. I ended up having them customize an iced caramel latte and ordering a cheddar and cheese biscuit. Everything tasted amazingggg. The biscuit was fresh and I didn't feel heavy after eating it. The latte had the perfect amount of sweetness. Both items complemented each other well and the pricing was very fair. They do sell their own coffee and it seemed like everyone had a cup. I think one of the better things about it is the drive-thru for people who don't want to get out the car. I am confident enough to use the drive-thru now that I have a go-to order. I rate this place a 10/10 and I will definitely be back to try some of the pastries and different coffee flavors.
The food here is AMAZING!!! I got the classic sammie with biscuit, bacon, pimento cheese, and fried egg. The biscuit was soft, flaky and just delicious. The pimento cheese was a nice alternative, not offered at most breakfast places on a sandwich. I could eat this once a week! The Island girl coffee was perfect. All my favorite flavors in a coffee. Great service nice decor. Will be back!

First and foremost they get all the gold stars for having all gender bathrooms! The coffee was super hot and delicious. The music was vibing and the soft pretzel was delish. Southside for the win.
This peanut butter short stack is amazingly addictive! I wish I could say more on their other drinks but I just keep coming for this one! I haven't been inside the coffee shop, just drive thru but the staff are very friendly and patient. They have a great menu of coffee, teas, food. They make their own fresh biscuits that I need to try because who doesn't look a homemade biscuit!?
I am always looking for great coffee around me. I needed a quick pick me up and i found this coffee shop just 5 minutes from my house! The coffee here is amazing, very smooth and well made. They also have pastries that look to die for. The ambiance is very relaxed, great for studying or working.

Hip, great for the young crowd. I ordered a blueberry muffin and classic Turkey egg and cheese biscuit. Tasty but too dry and crumbly for me. The muffin was sweet but just okay. The chai was delicious though. The crumb cake was dense and delicious.
Stopped in before an appt and had forgotten how much I enjoyed their coffee. This time I tried their classic sammie on a homemade biscuit completes with fried egg, bacon and cheddar. The biscuit was the star of the show and deliciously crumbly and delicate but not enough to fall apart. I ordered my go to lavender latte but they have lots or original creations to try. I love the brand and shop's funky style and vibe. This location has nice patio table seating, a drive thru and both large high top tables and small 2 person tables. When I visited there were quite a few people working on laptops so appears to be a nice spot to get work done.
Let's talk breakfast sandwiches real quick because I don't really like breakfast, in fact I normally skip the meal all together but the bacon egg and cheese biscuit at Brass Tacks is so good I would live exclusively off of them for a week! They are first come first serve so after a certain time every morning they seem to run out so wake up early to get there but I promise if you do you won't regret it. I occasionally work at an office near by and have now convinced everyone that comes in they need to try the biscuits and they all agree they are delicious! I their coffee and matcha are also delicious so I would also suggest picking up some caffeine with the biscuit sandwich! There is a drive thru and also plenty of room to sit inside or on the patio outside and enjoy your breakfast!
After errands on a humid Jacksonville morning, we ducked into Brass Tacks Coffee on Southside Boulevard, hungry but not desperate. Two biscuit sandwiches, a couple of pastries, and something to drink seemed like the right call. The Rex and The Classic are essentially fraternal twins, each built on a scratch-made drop biscuit with egg and meat, turkey sausage in one case, bacon in the other. The difference is cheese, pimento on The Rex, cheddar on The Classic. The pimento has a little personality, the cheddar just does its job. Both were satisfying in flavor, but those biscuits... They crumble on contact, the sort of bread you hold with one hand while sweeping up shrapnel with the other. Fine for sitting in the café, but impossible for a commute. The crumb cake was inoffensive, the blueberry muffin less so, dry enough that the only bursts of flavor came from the berries themselves. The coffee was dark and straightforward, the iced chai latte sweet and cold, doing exactly what it promised. 3 out of 5 stars A place worth sitting down in, but maybe not worth taking to go.
From the several locations around Jacksonville, to the number of friends who have recommended Brass Tacks to us, when we finally gave the Southside location a try we were pleased with the results! There was a of seating and drink options, and the whole coffee vibe was both very relaxed, but also upbeat. There was a good mix of people coming in and out, some socially hanging around, while others were working. And everyone seemed to also be enjoying their coffee. We'll have to try out some of the other locations, but I imagine they're all similar - offering a wide range of drink options, which taste great!
This is my daughter's fave coffee place and, of course, was the first place she took me to when I visited. It was SO BUSY for first thing on a Sunday morning! The drive-thru line reached into and around and through the parking lot. Luckily it moved fast and we ordered and received our coffees quickly. The young lady at the window was friendly and polite. I had one of their specialties, The Churro, iced, and it was so delicious with a nice kick of caffeine. It was so good that by the time I finished. I wanted another. Hah! I highly recommend coming here, don't let how busy they are deter you. It's worth it!

Absolutely fantastic coffee place with the sort of strong coffee you need in the morning, offering accommodations for dairy alternatives (oat and almond milk), friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a thorough menu of hot and cold drink options. I wish I lived closer so I can go and grab breakfast more frequently. Their sausage, egg and cheese biscuit is delicious. I also get a cold latte with peanut butter foam which is chef's kiss. They have a drive thru which makes it easier to order your items without getting out of the car! read more
If you're looking for a cool, laid back coffee shop with a relaxed vibe, this is definitely the place. Angela and I stopped in and ordered two cappuccinos. We really liked that they use single origin coffee unlike Starbucks, lol. The space feels modern yet comfortable, with plenty of windows for people-watching or enjoying the nice weather. They offer both indoor seating and an outdoor patio, making it a great spot to sip your favorite coffee, tea, or espresso. They also have a nice selection of breakfast items, including pastries and muffins that pair perfectly with your drink. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and created a positive atmosphere from the moment we walked in. As an added bonus, they also have a drive-thru if you're in a hurry. I am going to highly recommend that you get the peanut butter short stack! It is amazing. And I'm not really a cold coffee drinker. It's espresso and sugar over ice with peanut butter cold foam. I'm still thinking about it hours later. Friendly and fast service even though they were fairly busy. Clean and nicely done interior. Easy to park because it's in a shopping center. Would recommend and return. read more

I've enjoyed all of the lattes I've tried so far at Brass Tacks. But what really keeps me coming back is their scratch-made biscuits- they are delicious! I've not used the drive thru yet but it is always doing brisk business when I've been inside enjoying my coffee and biscuits. read more
In town for client meeting and ended up having to stay the night. Went on Tik Tok to find recommendations for coffee shop with good coffee and decent food. Brass Tacks was highly recommended and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. Ordered the Sweet and Salty iced coffee and it was perfect! Great balance of expresso and milk with sweet/salty coming through. Also ordered the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and wow!!! The biscuit was warm, moist and delicious. I highly recommend Brass Tacks. Everything was delicious, the staff was extremely kind and the service couldn't have been better. Highly recommended read more

We recently saw that Brass Tacks Coffee had one of the best biscuits & I had to try. John and I both ordered specialty coffees. I tried the Island Boy, a chocolate, coconut & macadamia latte. It was delicious. John got the Nutty Irishman- which he enjoyed. I snagged one of the French toast muffin- delightful, reminded me of coffee cake. John ordered the last biscuit (they run out early!) & honey. Very good biscuit! And I confess, I'm a biscuit snob. Lol. Great service, I enjoyed the coffee date. read more

What a nice quick and refreshing coffee shop. I was randomly passing by and googled coffee shops. This is where I landed and it was great. The drive thru was quick and easy. Only bad thing was the huge hill to exit. lol The variety of drinks was amazing. I found myself wanting to try a few. I guess I'll have to come back. The server in the drive thru was knowledgeable and kind when I asked my million questions. I took a shot of the inside too but stayed in the car. #Goals for later. read more

Came to Brass Tacks on our way to a wedding and the coffee here is a little sub par to other drive thru coffee spots in JAX (SB, DB, etc). Felt rushed on our order and missed that the drinks were all supposed to be hot. My drink was so extremely sweet I couldn't finish it. On the good side; their bagel was yummy and my dad's black americano was pretty solid. I want to give the benefit of the doubt as well that there was like one girl in there and doing drive thru coffee is hard. read more

I went here twice while staying across the street at the Springhill Suites. This is a dope little coffee shop. The food menu is pretty limited but honestly it works. The biscuits are homemade and bomb. The speciality coffees were most dope. I got the churro one day and then the French toast the other. Basically served ice latte style with two shots of espresso. Love that I found this place and would definitely return. Comfortable vibe inside too, could hang out there and work all day if needed read more
