With the limited food options around the Regency area, it can be tough -- especially when you're trying to eat healthy and avoid fast food. Café Veneto is such a hidden gem. It's a cute, small, family-owned restaurant with so many great options on the menu. I came in today and it was quiet -- which was perfect for me -- but I would absolutely love to see this place booming with people because it truly deserves it. I ordered the chicken caprese omelette, and let me just say... it was one of the best things I've eaten -- and I've dined at a handful of Michelin restaurants. You can literally taste the love that goes into each dish. I'm not sure of the owner's name, but she is so sweet, clearly hardworking, and an amazing cook. Love this little European style cafe. We are staying at a hotel nearby, so having this cafe at walking distance is great! Have tried three different coffees and all have been excellent so far. The sweets are also really good. Love the crepes. The savory foods are also very good. Husband has the garlic shrimp omelette with polenta and it was amazing. We were a little hesitant since there were no cars out front of the establishment. Nevertheless we ventured on to try this 4.6 stars and boy were we impressed. I had the Belgim waffles. They were very light with homemade whipped cream. Light and fluffy just how I like it. Hubs had the veggie omelette. OMG the flavors were incredible. Definitely will return. So frustrating. Me and my girlfriend spent 20 mins trying to find a spot to eat up in Arlington just to find this one spot and we get there and they are closed. It's a Friday afternoon at 2:45 when their hours say 8:30-6:30. I am extremely frustrated lol as well the Apple Maps took us through the neighborhood right next to the restaurant which is not connected what so ever. I love this place! I've only been one other time 3 years ago for a quick to go drinks. This time though, I was able to sit down and eat and it was amazing. All of the food is obviously homemade and excellent. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich which was double the size we were expecting and came with chips. We also got macchiato and a spicy chai tea which was fabulous. I love chai and am very snobby about it and this is probably the best and coziest chai I've ever had. There is a wide range of choices for everyone and wide a range of flavors too. The service is also amazing. Its run by a sweet older lady who was smiley and obviously puts a lot of effort into the atmosphere. The cafe is full of warm lighting and string lights outside. It's also full of beautiful lights and lovely music. I'm so glad I live near this cafe now and hope to become a regular. read more

We ordered breakfast, I got the apple crepes and John really ordered dessert- oreo cookie waffle. Good gracious we were in sweets heaven! Plus I got myself a hot caramel macchiato and John went with straight black coffee. My coffee was absolutely delicious! I also grabbed a couple apple struedel to go- I was leaving town and figured it would make a delicious snack on the road! Service was wonderful and the food and coffee- oh I will be back!!! Also ordered a crepe and it was made like a crepe should be to taste as well as the thinness. I have not found another place that makes a crepe true to what it should look and taste like. First time experience was pretty good. I missed breakfast & needed to eat somewhere nearby. First off, it's pretty hidden, surrounded by apartments. When I tried following the map instructions, I was lead to a gated community. Just drive in front of the Walmart and turn right to Lantern Square. You'll find the restaurant around the corner of the barber shop. The service was good and the workers were very polite. I ordered an apple and cinnamon waffle with a chocolate frappe. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing & the waffles were warm and delicious. The music was very calming too as I ate my brunch on the window counter. My only thing is that the frappe was a little ice-chunky and I could barely sip it through a straw. I ditched the straw and was practically chewing on ice. Wish I have tried other things in their menu but was just in the mood for something sweet. Maybe next time. I ordered a macchiato, lamb gyro, and baklava. I'm a bit of a snoot with coffee and the macchiato was just ok. I was given instructions to pour in my own sugar and creamer lol (so cute but no thanks, for the price I should've just ordered a regular coffee then lol) The lamb gyro was great! I am appreciative of the generous amount of meat I was given. Baklava is my absolute weakness and hers was quite delicious. The interior is cozy. Italian music plays in the background (I think it was italian lol some foreign language). Overall, a nice quiet cafe with soooo many options to try. Definitely a new go to as prices are VERY reasonable for sweets craving. When I visited this establishment, it had such a sweet, family vibe. It was very welcoming, I was greeted the moment I walked in, and I immediately headed for the bakery display. I absolutely had to take a look and see what was there, and they have in authentic Romanian dessert which is to die for by the way it's called Cremșnit and it is the creamiest, softest and fluffiest desert you will ever have in your entire life and the way that the owner of the shop bakes it is absolute perfection. The coffee was also incredible. I just had a shot of espresso and it was absolutely divine. I would definitely visit this place again if I'm in the area and if you're visiting Jacksonville or you want to try something new I highly recommend visiting this café. Cafe Veneto is small, independently owned cafe off the beaten path. To be honest, I had no idea this is where it was actually located. I met a few people here for a meeting and overall had a fine experience. I stuck around for a few hours and ordered a few iced coffees. Since the owners are foreign, I think there was a language barrier with my orders. They served me iced coffee with milk, whipped cream and a powder of cinnamon. If you know me, that's not typically my cup of tea. The woman was so nice that I almost felt embarrassed to ask for something else, even know it's not what I wanted at all. Although they serve coffee beverages, I wouldn't consider them a coffee house. Apparently the pastries and baked goods are on point, and I will have to try them the next time I visit. I'm still a little torn by my experience, but it's not enough for me to not return. When back in the area, I'll give them a shot for lunch! read more
