    Classic Breakfast

Love, love, love!!! Will definitely be back. Johnny Angels is so nostalgic and the food/customers/vibe is EVERYTHING that you just think it would be. There were just 2 people, day date with my husband, so we got sat instantly at the bar. Groups of 4/5 were pretty common and they had maybe a 20 min wait. I got a Ruben with fries and side of ranch. It was toasted to perfection! Not nothing overpowered each other. Not overly sauced, just pure deliciousness. And that RANCH, phew... it was heavenly. My husband got the pancake and egg breakfast with sausage and a side of home fries. The pancakes were slightly sweet and fluffy and just YUM! But let's talk about their sausage.... I'm not that big on restaurant sausage as most are pre made or frozen, but dang... I wish I could buy their sausage in bulk for real. I think the patties are made in house to be honest. They were cooked to perfection and juicy. The whole staff just worked well together and almost like they really LOVED their job. They flowed around each other with no problem and it's a small space. I will definitely be back and I most definitely encourage you to go if you haven't been. This will be in my list for bringing out of town guests to when they stop in.

My daughter took me here as a treat for brunch. I had not heard of it before and was so pleased by it. It doesn't look like much outside, just located in a strip mall, but wait until you walk in the door! It's super kitschy with the whole 1950s vibe. Really made me smile when I first saw it. The waitress was lovely and personable. We arrived at that sweet brunch time immediately between breakfast and lunch, where there was a slight lull before the next wave of customers. Nevertheless, even as it continued to get busier and busier, we were always treated well and the waitress was very efficient. My Popeye's omelette was perfect, with tons of spinach, Swiss cheese, and crispy bacon! The egg was cooked well, not dry, and not a bit of brown. The biscuit and potatoes were very good. My daughter had the Salem's Benedict. I had a bite and it was perfection. So were the grits. We still ended up taking some leftovers home because the portion sizes were great! She wanted us to have milkshakes too, but we were too full and had too many errands to run. I do hope to come back here (with my husband) and try those milkshakes!

The food is amazing. The service is top tier. The ambiance is like living back in the old good days. Definitely worth the money what I get to eat.

Angel's Diner is such a fun spot for breakfast or lunch! The 50s-style decor is absolutely adorable and gives it so much charm. Our server was a total delight and made the experience even better. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese in a pita with home fries, and the portions were massive--definitely come hungry! I'm already looking forward to coming back to try something from the sweet side of the breakfast menu as well as lunch.

I've been in a few times when visiting friends. Always good food and service! The portions are generous for the price! I got a custom omelet and my friend got French toast and said no meat so the waitress asked if I wanted it since wed get charged... um yes! Love the decor and the juke box!

Today, my aunt, uncle, & I decided to come here for a change. We love the nostalgic atmosphere of this restaurant. I love the old remnant from the movies including I Love Lucy television program. (Life-size Elvis I'm indifferent about ha ha ha). I'm gonna start out first talking about our server, Alexis. What a phenomenal individual she is, greeting us with the most genuine smile, knowing her menu options, very well and maintaining such a great sense of humor. She is a true asset for Johnny Angels! The food I have to say was very good, my aunt loved her banana pancakes (we specifically came here because she was craving tremendous pancakes, and she believes these are the best in town.) my uncle and I both had more the traditional breakfast, with large portions. You definitely do not leave here hungry. Their corned beef hash was full of flavor and I really did enjoy their potatoes which was an unexpected treat. (they were brought to me by accident, but it was worth it). Overall, this was definitely worth the drive! When I go back, I'm definitely gonna have to do the pancakes because they looked perfect, they were not dark brown, rather a beautiful golden brown

Fathers day weeknd! Happy Fathers day to all the Yelp dads! I carouled my grands and son to a Fathers day breakfast/brunch. One son was missing. Johnny Angel missed the mark on several accounts. Mimosas were on point and huge, unlike flutes the mimosas come in. Silver dollar pancakes were out for the kiddos and were devoured. There were only 3 pancakes though on the plate. The La Bamba Omelette and Belgium Waffle with scrambled eggs came later. I asked the waitress to bring coloring books and crayons. All in all , Johnny Angels had a nice vibe. The La Bamba omelette had a nice flavor. However, the cheese sat on the omelette for minutes. The plates were sized well. Wifey and I will definetly visit in the near future

The Restaurant is located in a strip mall tucked back from St John's Bluff. Plenty of parking. As you walk up to the restaurant your not expecting what's inside because the outside of the restaurant is modern looking, but as you walk in you're transported back in time with the checker board counter, the memorabilia hanging on the walls and even the booths had the 50s vibe. A TV in the back we were sitting close to was playing a Doris Day movie. Really cool concept. We were greeted by a bubbly server promptly. The menu items are names appropriately. I ordered the Elvis Special and wanted to try something unique and different from the standard breakfast. It didn't disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back! The Burger is next!

If you want to feel like you've stepped straight into the 1950s while still in 2025 Jacksonville, this is the spot to visit. The restaurant is packed with retro memorabilia, and the waitresses bring the nostalgic vibe to life right down to serving classic root beer floats. The food is just as impressive: I tried the Captain Crunch French toast topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and graham cracker crumblesabsolutely delicious. A fun, unique experience all around!

I'd give 4.5 stars. This is an old style diner. Has its own parking lot. Old diner decor with actors and singers on the walls and music and tv playing. Service is great and the food is really really good. My husband swears his best chicken fried steak around. There's a counter/bar area and seated tables. Can't wait to get back here when we're in the area again. Amazing breakfast spot!!

Finally made it to the Jacksonville location! It did not disappoint. The second you step in you are time traveled to days that use to be! The posters, statues and photos could take you all day to view. We sat at the bar across from the kitchen. The sweet tea is tall and delicious. I ordered "The King" a delicious Reuben. The meat was tender, flavorful, sauerkraut had the perfect amount pucker, the cheese was smooth and the dressing was perfect. Grilled perfectly! I love crinkle fries and they were delicious. No pics I was starving. My server was fun, talkative and was continually busy. I am already planning my breakfast visit in the near future!

This place is "out of sight" fantastic! Their slogan is "A Taste of Heaven", and that could not be more spot on!! From the adorable 50's diner decor, Rock-in 50's tunes playing, friendly smiling staff, to the best over easy eggs I've ever tasted.....Heaven is exactly where you feel like you are while dining at Johnny Angel's! The chef, Cole cooks EVERYTHING he touches to absolute PERFECTION!! I think I drooled the whole time. If you're in the Jacksonville area, don't miss the opportunity to stop in and see Alexis' beautiful service with a smile and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Joe! Highly recommend and we will definitely never forget this experience. Best breakfast ever!

I had the 3 waffles, medium eggs, sausage, and bacon; we are so full after this meal; didnt eat till the next!

I ordered the short rib, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and served over a rich parmesan risotto that struck the right balance of creamy and savory. The red wine demi-glace brought everything together with a deep, refined flavor that you'd expect from a much more upscale spot. The crispy pork belly, though, completely stole the show. Easily the best I've ever had--perfectly crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. I travel frequently and dine out often, so it takes a lot to impress me--but this place did exactly that. The atmosphere was relaxed and authentic, and despite the "hole-in-the-wall" feel, every dish was executed at a high level. I was there with coworkers, and every single one of us walked away impressed. This is the kind of spot you almost want to keep to yourself--but it's too good not to share.

The restaurant was super clean and our waiter was nice and attentive. We ordered the following: Appetizer - Torresmo (Crispy pork belly with smoked guava sauce and lime) - 7/10 - The pork belly was salty, crispy, and had lots of flavor but it was a tad dry. The star was the guava sauce! It was sweet, smokey and paired so well with the pork belly. There was not enough lime and the pieces we had were dry and not juicy. We could barely get juice out of them. Regardless, the appetizer was good. A bit heavy though on the stomach. Entrees: Costela ao Molho Madeira com Risotto de Parmesão (braised beef short rib with madeira sauce over parmesan risotto) - 8/10 - The short rib was super tender and fell off the bone! It was pretty hefty piece too and plenty of meat for the dish. The flavors were good but I didn't really like the taste of Madeira wine (personal preference). The parmesan risotto was really delicious, creamy, and had a strong cheesy taste! Reminded me of elevated mac and cheese and it went so well with the braised short rib. Picanha Rustica (steak served with fried rice with bacon, eggs, onion, and potato stick, chimichurri sauce, and fried yuca - 8.7/10 - my husband had this and he enjoyed it very much. I had a bite of his steak and it was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The fried yuca was hot, crispy, light, and airy. The chimichurri sauce was so fresh and went well with the well seasoned steak. I tried the fried rice and it was delightful as well. We would definitely get this dish again. Overall, it was a pleasant evening and the food was delicious. A bit pricey but the quality was great. I personally won't get the braised short ribs again because it was a bit wine flavored heavy but if you're into wine sauces, you would absolutely love it! Service was good and we were taken care of. Can't wait to try other things on the menu!

The ambiance kept making me think of Coco for some reason but it was a vibe. I love that they aren't the typical Mexican restaurant with chimichangas and speedy Gonzales and all that mess on their menu. They sell what they'd serve their families, served on beautiful ceramic dishes and you can taste the love in the food. I ordered the horchata, my drink of choice. It was delicious. I only know 2 other businesses in town who make it right. My son has a Mexican Coke and water. The salsa was fresh and perfect. I loved how thin the chips were. For dinner, I ordered the enchiladas de mole and all I can say if you like/love mole, you should try them. My son ordered the birria tacos. This was his first time trying birria and he enjoyed them. Their tortillas are homemade, tender and delicious; which makes this restaurant top tier in my book. As a lover of Al Pastor, I couldn't leave without placing an order of pastor tacos to go. By the time our food came out, others started coming in for dinner. I guess we just got there a little early. Before we left, there was a good amount of patrons there and more pulling up. I was stuffed by the time I made it home but I tried a piece of one when I got home and that's lunch for me today. lol. They are delicious. I ate my leftover enchiladas for breakfast this morning.
