Her actions demonstrate her commitment to working with people and making a difference and today she did. The eggs were cooked. Perfect today the pancakes, however, a little more overdone than I would prefer, but they cannot always be done perfectly every time. I'd never heard of this place but tried it while I was in town and was VERY impressed. It's almost hidden in a shopping center near Publix but it's worth checking out for sure. I don't like eggs so that eliminates half the menu at breakfast places so I usually have pancakes or waffles. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were as good as I've had anywhere in a long time. They're huge and take up the entire plate and they don't skimp on the blueberries either. I was hungry and still not quite able to finish them all....but if you do their pancakes are automatically all you can eat so you can order more for no extra charge. The bacon is also a must try, it's four large strips of perfectly cooked bacon, not too crisp and not too soggy and they're lean cuts so not too fatty. Gotta have coffee of course and the coffee is solid as well, with quick refills. They also have cocktails etc. but I stuck with coffee this trip. Service is very fast and friendly here, they weren't too busy on a weekday but I can see where they'd get packed on a weekend. Was excited to try this spot, everything looked good when it came out but it turned out to be a Very basic breakfast with not much flavor.. tried the French toast breakfast with the house made sausage(not worth the up charge) . French toast was very bland no sweetness at all, house made sausage had a weird after taste and texture felt like ground beef rather than sausage. Grits were watery with no flavor The biscuit platter was okay, biscuit nice and fluffy, tasted like they were homemade. But the flavors just didn't do it for me Cinnamon roll pancakes were ALOT, overwhelmed by the crème and pecans couldn't really taste the pancake itself.. This is a new location in Baymeadows. The have bottomless mimosas and I like that they had different flavors. The crab Benedict was ok , could use some more seasoning. The shrimp and grits were tasty with lots of cheese. They are open 7 days a week until 230pm which is nice. I would go back and try a few lunch options next time read more

We stopped in at Scramblers Restaurant in the Deerwood shopping center at Southside Blvd and Old Baymeadows Road Sunday morning 02/01. Our pick was based on two things: we hadn't been to Scramblers in a while and we heard they started doing Bottomless Mimosas since the last time we were here. This review originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group on 02/01. I went with the Classic All American combo which you get to make a lot of choices with. I picked scrambled eggs, turkey sausage patties, pancakes and hash browns. The eggs were huge, light and fluffy. I like turkey sausage to begin with and this was the kind that damn near tasted like regular pork sausage. The hash browns were standard, but still good. The pancakes were great and enormous to the point where I didn't make it through all of them but I still like what I was able to eat. My wife ordered the Southern Biscuit Benny which also came with a choice of side. It's worth noting that you can pick from a ton of sides for no charge so I included photos of all of them. There are sides for an up charge of $1.99 and they're listed under the Extra Bites section. My wife picked the Yogurt Parfait (err'body like parfait Shrek) from that as her side. She liked the chicken, she thought the egg was poached perfectly and the biscuit was a standout. She would order it again and she thought the parfait was nice as a side choice. It's worth noting that our server Krishon was running like mad because they were busy in the dining room along with a LOT of (I assume) DoorDash orders. He was super nice to us the whole time and never actually mentioned how busy he was to us. I'm only making mention of it in this post because we observed it while he was being great at his job. PHENOMENAL!!! Found this restaurant on Yelp and I'm so glad we tried it! First of all our server, Cynthia, was AMAZING! So kind, upbeat, friendly and hospitable! She is the perfect example of what you hope for during any dining experience. On to the food. We ordered the All America Classic Breakfast with hash browns, the firecracker bacon and the strawberry short (pan) cakes. Everything was delicious..the bacon is probably the best bacon I've ever had...the pancakes had a dollop of cream cheese in the middle so just note that they're on the heavier side but still yummy. They don't have peanut butter so I ran to the Publix next door to grab some for our pancakes. We also ordered the Uncle Moose's Manhandler Skillet with a gluten free pancake and I literally ate every bite! Everything was cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY! If I had to suggest anything it's that there were too many onions and they should have been sautéed instead of raw. We will definitely be back! One of our favorite new breakfast spots! read more

First visit to the Scramblers chain of restaurants. I visited the one located off Old Baymeadows this morning. A nice spot to eat, very clean and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the classic breakfast and was only slightly disappointed. The eggs were fluffy and well cooked, the bacon was very tasty, I upgraded on that I recommend! The hit was fresh baked thick cut rye bread toast. I got the hash browns and they definitely needed more time on the griddle, I didn't east most of them for that reason. Order the stuffed French toast with a side of bacon and pineapple sunrise drink. The food was nothing to ride home about. Stuffing in French toast was bland, bacon was overcooked and had to be sent back and sunrise drink was okay. However, I feel like it could have been an off day with the large crowd there. I've been here multiple times and the food is always delicious! The salted caramel banana waffles are some of the best I've ever had. Had a good balance of salty and sweet without being overwhelming. The caramel sauce is so good it honestly doesn't need syrup. The breakfast tacos are good although a little underseasoned but I just sprinkled some salt, added some hot sauce, and it was good to go. Our waitress was sweet, professional, swift and knowledgeable. I wish I could remember her name. The food was excellent. I had the "mini" breakfast and I put mini in quotes because it was huge! I had 2 eggs scrambled eggs, two pieces of crispy bacon, crispy hash browns and a huge piece of french toast. All I can say is, mmm-mmm! I had three Diet Pepsi drinks and our waitress never let me go empty! It was a bit loud in there and that is the only thing that I can think of that wasn't perfect. We were a party of eight so we were somewhat responsible for the loudness. So there's that. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely go back. They don't stock it, so I got honey. When it came out, the fruit was fresh; but, two strawberries and 12 blueberries for 4 bucks!?! The "butter" in the side cup was too yellow to be true. So I asked. Mixed reviews on this place- it has cute decor and has great potential. Food was pretty good but the service was mediocre. Our server maybe came over 3 times our entire breakfast and it took a long time to get our check (and we had 2 antsy toddlers who were ready to go). I also noticed servers were gossiping and complaining about other coworkers near our table which I think is what was impacting the service. Food wise- the kids meals were great portion sizes for the price ($5-6 for entree, side, and drink). However, the waitress told us the OJ was included with the kids meal and they upcharged us $3.99. My husband had the Eggs Benedict- hollandaise was a little runny but the flavor was good. He liked that the ham was thinly sliced. I had the veggie delight omelette and added ham. There were plenty of toppings and a lot of cheese. Most people, I think, enjoy a lot of cheese, but I removed some because it was too much for me. My toast was borderline burnt, and the server took too long to come back around that it wasn't worth it to ask for them to redo it. We all chose fruit as our side and it was fresh and tasty. Surprised to see it wasn't an upcharge because a lot of places do for fruit. I appreciated that they brought the coffee in a mini carafe so you could give yourself a refill. They had a Bogo coupon in the mint magazine and we figured let's go try it, we did not expect the level of yummyness we got! It was kinda busy on a Sunday morning but we got a table with in a few minutes, our server was great and friendly, we looked over the menu and both went with a southwest style breakfast. I really wanted to like Scramblers, but overall the experience was just okay--and for the price point, I expected a lot more. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and unfortunately, the chicken reminded me of the kind you'd get at a concession stand during a high school football game: processed, a little rubbery, and lacking any real flavor. The waffle had a noticeable cinnamon flavor, which might be a hit for some, but it just wasn't my thing. The scrambler was our pick for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is very airy and bright. It is a bit loud for the amount of people here which was not many. I started with the tipsy tomato. However, there were printer issues so my drink was delayed. Wifey ordered a mimosa. I was ready to order but the waiter just left after telling us there were printer issue. When we entered the hostess just looked at us. However, our server, Russell made up for the delay. Wifey ordered the stuffed french toast while I ordered the classic. The classic consisted of grits, eggs, cornbeef hash and toast. The meal was at our table in seconds. It baffles me how it was seconds and not 10 to 15 minutes. Scramblers gets vote for a new breakfast spot. I had dirty silver ware but no matter. I work in a service industry. Russell was attentive but I asked for coffee but never got it. Off, I go to Ellianos for my daily chai tea latte. I digress. I wish wifey would have sat outside with me. We mostly are insiders. Scramblers rating 4 out of 5 stars and I mean a close 5. Walking in I was amazed at the ambiance of the restaurant. It had a bright and cheerful atmosphere. Ms. Gwen greeted us with a down-home Louisiana charming smile, and she was also our waitress. She was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu. I had the Hash & eggs with a side of grits. Had a long weekend and didn't feel like cooking today so I checked out my delivery app and found Scramblers. The omelets sounded really good especially the South of the Border Omelet (Chorizo sausage, green chilies, onions, homemade salsa, a blend of Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses topped with sour cream and chives). I decided to order my man and I the same omelet, one with hash browns, fruit and extra portobello mushrooms and the other with hash browns, sourdough toast, and fruit. I'm not sure what happened but somehow I received a yogurt. No matter, it still got eaten. I have to admit, I was very impressed.
