Our 2nd time and they didn't disappoint. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday morning. Filled with locals bragging on the food and service. Had a short wait of 10 minutes. We ordered the Grumpy Big Breakfast which comes with coffee and the Country breakfast. Great portions and sweet southern hospitality. The food was so good!!!!
We've been told we NEEDED to go to Grumpy's for breakfast so today we tried it! We were there before 8 am and were seated right away. By the time we left there were people outside on the bench waiting to get in (have free coffee/water pots outside for them as they waited...nice). I ordered 2eggs, crisp bacon and (said small pancakes) $9.29 (?) and hubby got 2 eggs, crisp bacon, hash browns and sourdough bread for $12.99. Let me tell you it was hard eating so much! I believe we had 4/5 pieces bacon each and they were crisp! If my pancakes were the small, I can't imagine the regular size. My hubby had a huge amt of crisp, hash browns which pleased him! My only suggestion-get real butter not the partially hydrogenated oils that were in the margarine tubs.
Our server amber was OUTSTANDING today and I commend her continuous smile and e energy! She greeted us with a huge smile and was most attentive! The portions today were huge. I don't know how else to say it! They give you an entire potato farm. It feels like with the hashbrowns. The corn beef patch was good could've used some onions and maybe big bell pepper but overall it was good. My uncle really enjoyed his Greek omelette which I will say was stuck to the rim. You'll always feel welcome to when you come to this location in Orange Park. Clean, friendly and family oriented. It's always worth the drive over the Buckman Bridge. Grumpy's really needs to commend Amber for she's a true asset to their team! She made this visit even more special by her energetic smile and embracing personality .

Grumpys is too good. My good friend and I wanted somewhere we could eat great and customize. I was craving potatoes and she was craving a combination of things. She ended up completely changing up her entire order but she got everything her heart desired, my hashbrown omelette was delicious and the portions they give allow you to enjoy your food more than once. My friend ordered a cinnamon roll to top it all off. The establishment was pretty busy but the food came out hot and pretty quick. Overall, the environment was decent and the waitress gave great recommendations.
If I could give Grumpy's a 100 out of 10 I so would!!! Phenomenal service, scrumptious food, and fun friendly atmosphere. It's crazy because the restaurants name is Grumpy's but the servers here are the friendliest people I have ever met haha! The portion sizes are massive and the quality is just outstanding with great prices! The pancakes are so fluffy and one of the best I have ever had and the sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and house fries are so fire! Keep in mind that Saturday & Sundays it gets very busy so wait times can be 45 mins plus. But definitely worth the wait. P.S Our server Jeremiah was the star! Great job and thank you. Highly recommend to anyone to check them out! ^.^
Grumpy's Orange Park on Kingsley Rd This is a diner with a diner atmosphere. There are mostly booths but they're are some table and chair seating and a bar counter as well. It is loud with all the people dining and talking. I came today to place a ToGo order. Welp, not all Grumpy's are created the same. I wasn't greeted at all when I walked in which left me confused. I was actually met with a death stare by people who later became known as the hostess. I was the referred to a waiter by the name of Chris. A pleasant difference to my first encounter. Today the order was for a ToGo Chef salad. It arrived packed in the normal container, utensils, napkins (plenty) and 2 sauce cups of salad dressing. The salad is large like WHOA! The Restaurant was already filling up. We were seated. Our server was Jassandra. Wonderful young lady. Attentive and friendly. Everyone is working together to make our visit enjoyable. Even the busters are friendly. Makes for a great experience and environment. This location has a melting pot of people dining in. Hubby orders orange juice. They have a machine in the corner that you can watch it make the freshly squeezed orange juice from the full size oranges. ! Everyone places their food and drink orders. We're talking and the food begins to arrive. #1) Huge portions #2) Everything is hot #3) You truly can't finish it all. Even with eating slowly while taking. So I understand the pricing. Opportunities: 1 scrambled egg is very small. In the future, I'll ask for a double order. The omelettes were seasoned perfectly. The grits had no salt. That was an easy fix. I understand dietary guidelines. Outside of that, it was truly an enjoyable meal. I slipped to waitress that it was Jessica's birthday. They came out at the end with a freshly cooked cinnamon roll. Topped with chocolate and sprinkles. Drizzles with icing and a candle. We all sang Happy Birthday. We made the commitment to have breakfast together at minimum once a month at Grumpy's! Mahalo
Went to Grumpy's on Kingsley and honestly... the wait line told the whole story. Folks were standing there like they were waiting for a blessing, and honestly, they were. Small place, packed tight, but the service was so perfect it almost made me emotional. The food came out hot, pretty, and cared for right down to the teabags, which somehow looked fancier than my whole week. If this is Grumpy, I don't even want to meet Happy.

I've been here a few times when I visit my parents in Florida. They like it. I've actually had a few good meals here but the last time was awful. Long wait times to get a table and after we were seated we sat for about 10 minutes without even getting coffee. We had to raise our hand and ask for it. She also never came over to refill them. I ordered a special they had and it was so gross. Not sure what leftover crap they threw on the plate but we were not impressed. Definitely won't return. read more

First time visiting and must say everything was delicious. Can't complain about any of the food and the service was amazing. The ambiance was family friendly and very busy. You will have a slight wait to get a seat but it's well worth it. read more

Early morning appointments and time for good food. Grumpy's did not disappoint. I had the grilled chicken strips with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Friend had the grilled Reuben and fries. Delicious!! Great customer service from the server, Hayley (I think, sorry she said her name fast). Manager came by to see how the meals were - stopping at tables nearby as well. Brunch is a tradition when I'm on vacation with my friends. Stumbled upon this place when asking around for the best pancakes in the area. The food did not disappoint. I got the avocado toast, my one friend got pancakes (which I tried and they were so soft and buttery), and my other friend got bacon and eggs. Our server was so sweet and the food got to our table pretty quick despite how crowded it was. I would definitely come back. read more

Listen, I love Grumpy's for an early breakfast and I am going to give them a five star review but really wish I could give them a 4.5 star review. I was greeted and seated immediately by the hostess at table a near the back. She asked if I wanted to sit at the counter, but it is so busy there it would not be a peaceful meal . This is the original location and can be slammed from start to finish. It took a while for my server to find me and take my drink order (black coffee and water). Their coffee is better than most restaurants you go to and their mugs are great (heavy and fit in your hand well). As usual, the food was spot on. I ordered the #3 (2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage patties, home fries, and wheat toast bc they were out of sourdough. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. I am usually a hash brown guy but their home fries are so well seasoned I decided to change it up today. My chief complaint was that the service was just off compared to their normal sterling service. It was slow and my coffee cup ran empty and I had to flag down a different server to get a refill. However, my server did volunteer to bring me a go cup without me asking (like I said they have good coffee). I also noted that some other persons in my area were waiting a long time for food or food was coming out in shifts (so tables were not eating together). Also, persons were waiting to pay. Fun thing I noticed today that I had never noticed before, they provide free water for customers who are waiting to be seated. I also noticed this AM they also provide free coffee (what a nice thought when you are waiting for breakfast and the need for caffeine kicks in). I will definitely go back, just hope this is not a harbinger of things to come. read more

We decided to grab lunch at Grumpys on our way through town and arrived 20 minutes until closing. We asked the first person we saw if it was too late to eat there and honestly SHE was grumpy but said it wasn't too late. We went inside and we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress (Summer is what it said on the ticket) was so sweet and fun to chat with. We ordered a pumpkin cinnamon roll which was very delicious but my fried chicken Benedict stole the show. It was so flavorful and the chicken was perfectly crispy. The little fried jalapeño on top was a perfect touch. I had a hard time stopping when I was full. My husband really loved his chicken pot pie. He said it was the perfect portion for lunch too. My daughter said the chocolate chip pancakes were great but couldn't finish both pancakes so we got one to go. The restaurant was clean and inviting. When we left we said we would love to come back (if we ever drive through town again.) read more
Grumpy's is your good-old-traditional-southern-big-plate breakfast/ lunch spot. So come HUNGRY! And early! The wait can be insane, but the location I went to had a nice bench outside with a few backyard games to fill the time. This is great especially if you need to entertain kids. I loved my loaded chicken biscuit sandwich that came with a spicy honey dip. I also ordered a side of cheese grits and they were ok. Mine was a little cold, but not inedible. read more

Grumpy is a great name cause you will walk in grumpy from being hangry and definitely walk out not grumpy lol Grumpy's have a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch choices. I went for the main classic 3XL egg omelette but create my own with American cheese, mushroom, peppers, tomato, ham and sausage with hash brown (best hash brown I've ever had) and four slices of white toast. Looking for something new on our way home. This a little off our path but it's new and had good reviews. Time for breakfast! Had a bit of a wait but not too bad. Ok I'm the shade. Once sat we had a booth by the window. Great spot. Server was right there for drinks. Took a while to review the menu as it is large and everything sounded yummy! Started So I landed on the grumpy BLT. Loaded with all 3! Nice and fresh on the sourdough bread. The proportions were perfect. So good! The fries could have been crispier though. It was our first time at Grumpies, we just moved to Middleburg and wanted to check it out after a mention in a FB group. I'm so glad we did, the menu was big, the prices were decent, the food was outstanding! Unfortunately they do not serve alcohol, however, Elizabeth our waitress told us to just grab some mini bottles at the liquor store next door and we could make our own. So THATS WHAT WE DID! It was amazing. And the orange juice they served alone, worth the trip to Grumpies. Fresh squeezed and I've never had a better mimosa lol. They had a special today, Oreo pancakes that they graciously made into kid sizes for us, I admit I had a taste and I regret not getting one for myself! Everything was excellent. The service, spot on. There was no wait for a table of 7 at noon on a Friday. We will be back and we will be bringing friends. Thank you, Elizabeth! read more

Standard southern breakfast food like eggs, pancakes. This isn't a high end restaurant but it's really good and the perfect place to quickly stop in for breakfast. Everything was really good but I just have one complaint. The waitress initially brought out undercooked pancakes and honestly they did not even look done when she brought them. I did ask for another stack and she returned less than 2 minutes later with a nice brown stack. read more

Not really. If you're celiac I wouldn't suggest it. I'm only gluten intolerant and can handle certain items such as sourdough bread. So I got the eggs, turkey sausage, grits and sourdough toast
