I've been here a few times when I visit my parents in Florida. They like it. I've actually had a few good meals here but the last time was awful. Long wait times to get a table and after we were seated we sat for about 10 minutes without even getting coffee. We had to raise our hand and ask for it. She also never came over to refill them. We've been told we NEEDED to go to Grumpy's for breakfast so today we tried it! We were there before 8 am and were seated right away. By the time we left there were people outside on the bench waiting to get in (have free coffee/water pots outside for them as they waited...nice). I ordered 2eggs, crisp bacon and (said small pancakes) $9.29 (?) and hubby got 2 eggs, crisp bacon, hash browns and sourdough bread for $12.99. Let me tell you it was hard eating so much! I believe we had 4/5 pieces bacon each and they were crisp! If my pancakes were the small, I can't imagine the regular size. My hubby had a huge amt of crisp, hash browns which pleased him! Our server amber was OUTSTANDING today and I commend her continuous smile and e energy! She greeted us with a huge smile and was most attentive! The portions today were huge. I don't know how else to say it! They give you an entire potato farm. It feels like with the hashbrowns. The corn beef patch was good could've used some onions and maybe big bell pepper but overall it was good. My uncle really enjoyed his Greek omelette which I will say was stuck to the rim. Grumpys is too good. My good friend and I wanted somewhere we could eat great and customize. I was craving potatoes and she was craving a combination of things. She ended up completely changing up her entire order but she got everything her heart desired, my hashbrown omelette was delicious and the portions they give allow you to enjoy your food more than once. It's crazy because the restaurants name is Grumpy's but the servers here are the friendliest people I have ever met haha! The portion sizes are massive and the quality is just outstanding with great prices! The pancakes are so fluffy and one of the best I have ever had and the sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and house fries are so fire! Listen, I love Grumpy's for an early breakfast and I am going to give them a five star review but really wish I could give them a 4.5 star review. I was greeted and seated immediately by the hostess at table a near the back. She asked if I wanted to sit at the counter, but it is so busy there it would not be a peaceful meal . This is the original location and can be slammed from start to finish. It took a while for my server to find me and take my drink order (black coffee and water). Their coffee is better than most restaurants you go to and their mugs are great (heavy and fit in your hand well). As usual, the food was spot on. I ordered the #3 (2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage patties, home fries, and wheat toast bc they were out of sourdough. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. I am usually a hash brown guy but their home fries are so well seasoned I decided to change it up today. My chief complaint was that the service was just off compared to their normal sterling service. It was slow and my coffee cup ran empty and I had to flag down a different server to get a refill. However, my server did volunteer to bring me a go cup without me asking (like I said they have good coffee). I also noted that some other persons in my area were waiting a long time for food or food was coming out in shifts (so tables were not eating together). Also, persons were waiting to pay. Fun thing I noticed today that I had never noticed before, they provide free water for customers who are waiting to be seated. I also noticed this AM they also provide free coffee (what a nice thought when you are waiting for breakfast and the need for caffeine kicks in). We decided to grab lunch at Grumpys on our way through town and arrived 20 minutes until closing. We asked the first person we saw if it was too late to eat there and honestly SHE was grumpy but said it wasn't too late. We went inside and we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress (Summer is what it said on the ticket) was so sweet and fun to chat with. We ordered a pumpkin cinnamon roll which was very delicious but my fried chicken Benedict stole the show. It was so flavorful and the chicken was perfectly crispy. The little fried jalapeño on top was a perfect touch. I had a hard time stopping when I was full. My husband really loved his chicken pot pie. He said it was the perfect portion for lunch too. Super busy Sunday late morning, uber cold and there was a line of shivering folks out the door. A brief 20 min wait for our table, server was very efficient and friendly and extremely accommodating of our wheelchair. Food was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad we did, the menu was big, the prices were decent, the food was outstanding! Unfortunately they do not serve alcohol, however, Elizabeth our waitress told us to just grab some mini bottles at the liquor store next door and we could make our own. So THATS WHAT WE DID!
