Great setting, great food and drinks, friendly staff. There's nothing left to say...stop thinking about it-Just go!

1/5 Stars I was really looking forward to trying this place, but my experience was extremely disappointing. Despite placing my order and waiting, a customer who arrived after me was served first. The staff was not very friendly, which only added to the frustration. When I finally received my muffin, it was cold and hard, and I had to ask for it to be warmed. To make matters worse, after all that, I was given the wrong muffin. While the ambiance is nice--with a retro feel and attractive brick floors and walls--the poor service and order issues completely overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I stopped in on a weekend to grab breakfast to go. A friend recommended the savory pastries and I was not disappointed. The oregano sun dried tomato pastry that had some of the flakiest pastry I've ever had. The cardamom cinnamon roll was a pleasant surprise. I didn't know how I would like the cardamom addition but it was well balanced and the dough was pillowy soft. The parking is street parking only which isn't ideal but wasn't too bad as it was earlier in the day. I would definitely return.

Came in on Sunday morning after my Pilates class to grab a quick coffee. Parking is street parking so might need to walk a bit if there's no open spots. Inside is very cute but small, this place was incredibly busy and definitely not enough seating. The menu is huge, lots of different options (pastries, sandwiches and salads). They do up charge for alternative milk options ($0.95 which I think is a bit excessive). I ordered a decaf latte with oat milk and the coffee itself was good, but the wait time was pretty long (waited about 15ish mins for a latte). Would recommend the place but would suggest to avoid coming here during peak hours

Free parking is just steps away from this beyond-delicious bakery. The neighborhood might feel a little rough around the edges, but don't let that fool you--the people here could not be kinder. Inside, the bakery feels welcoming with wooden counters facing the street, small plants, and a hand-painted sign declaring "community comes first." The décor--brick walls, colorful umbrellas reminiscent of Japan, and beautiful glass lighting--sets the perfect tone. And then there's the bakery case, overflowing with treats that will stop you in your tracks: vegan strawberry muffins, flaky croissants, hearty breakfast sandwiches (they'll happily swap bacon for tomato), and matcha lattes where they don't skimp on the matcha. Don't miss the hand pies, filled with carrot, onion, and feta, perfectly seasoned to brighten your morning. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed. Soft music hums overhead, blending into the chatter of customers who can't wait to dig in the second their food arrives--only to finish within minutes and look a little sad it's already gone. Many, like us, head back for more to take home, despite swearing we wouldn't. (We caved for a blueberry muffin, and yes, it disappeared just as quickly!) The staff? Beyond friendly. They didn't just take our order--they asked questions, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the whole process smooth, even with a line forming behind us. With plenty of staff on hand, no one waits long. Whether you're visiting for the weekend or lucky enough to live nearby, this is a place worth enjoying again and again.

12/10 experience - if someone tells you different they may just have a bitter bone because I'm extremely picky with my food and lattes !!! Every time my husband and I visit our friends in Jacksonville beach we cross the bridge just for this coffee shop!!! Great coffee, amazing food, even better service !!! The little merchandise section is super cool too!!! I always get a little gift for family while I'm there !!! The table turn around is pretty fast too ! There's never a spot open when you're waiting in line but by the time you order there's a table available or a high top by the windows ! Such a cute place and the last time we visited we went every morning

I was searching for a bakery to buy a sourdough loaf so I decided to stop by 1748 Bakehouse. The line was almost out the door but it did move fairly quickly. I ordered a sourdough loaf and was on my way. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best. I thought it was dense and the crust wasn't developed well. It was okay toasted, still not great. I ended up using about half the loaf to make croutons which came out pretty good. Nothing else on their menu really jumped out at me so I'm not sure I would return.

Employees super patient and sweet. The ambiance is just a cute little coffee/bakery/lunch place. I didn't even feel like I was in Jacksonville. Big city, sweet feel. Lots of bakery choices. Lots! It's hard to make a choice. All the baked goods looked delicious. I ordered the chicken salad with green goddess dressing. The place was busy on a Sunday @12:45pm. Practically every seat was taken and people kept coming. Good sign!

Anytime I'm craving a yummy breakfast, I want to go to 1748! I can't believe it took me so long to go to their shop after years of waiting in line for their pastries at RAM. Their food and coffee are 10/10. I love trying new pastries in their bakery case. While the coffee shop is cute, I do wish it was in a better part of town. Would be ideal in an area like Riverside!

Shopping while you wait in line- pimento cheese spread is delicious.

Everything we ordered was delicious- breakfast sandwiches on homemade English muffins were perfection but it was equally delicious on their toast. Took English muffins to go and ate two days later and still perfect.

    Jennifer T.

What more can I say about this place. The line at RAM to get some of their pastries is the longest of any of the vendors. Every now and then I pop into their shop and get to try savory pastries I would have never considered - the picture posted is an asparagus and leek pastry I believe. Delicious and flaky and a combination I would have never guessed would have worked. The pastry is crispy and well constructed and their coffees are delicious. Their shop is picturesque and always full of happy people.

You have to order inside and then head to a table with your number and the servers will bring it to you. With a party of 5, our food came out in good time and we got an array of items-- from a breakfast croissant sandwich to little pastries, everything was wonderful. Most of us ended up trying their seasonal matcha drink which was a linzer matcha that came with black cherry and a pistachio cold foam. It has a specific taste but I liked it a lot! It's not a mix of flavors I'd normally think of but I ended up finishing my drink which I don't always do, even with matcha drinks. The croissants & bread were fresh and each dish was beautifully plated. I love a dish that both looks good and tastes good and it delivered both. The outdoor patio is covered and a great spot to enjoy your meal if the weather is beautiful and breezy which is was the day we dined here. The inside is also such a cute vibe. Experience to say the least. Now I know that La Petite Paris is SO GOOD in person at the restaurant. A big part of it being good at delivery is the way the restaurant packs the food. Each meal was packed with care to make sure it arrived safely and didn't fall apart or spill or anything crazy. And... coming in clutch... they wrote the names on each order. It's always tough with like 10+ people to be certain everyone gets the right meal. They made it easy. I also got a latte to go halfway expecting it to be room temp or so when it arrived. But it was still HOT! So they timed things very well. Also really good. Their lattes are always awesome. I had the fig, bleu cheese, and walnuts croissant. It's my favorite thing to order here. Ultimately, I decided to sample the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. It was quite good. I believe they used a cheddar that was a bit strong for my taste and would have preferred some milder cheese options (like provolone). Regardless, it was tasty. My only complaint (and this may be specific to me) is that they did not have a cola flavored diet drink to offer. Yes, I admit, I need my Diet Coke with my meal. So, I had to walk around the corner and find a place to sell me a soda. Other than that, a great option for a meal.

Our visit to Biscottis in Jacksonville's Avondale neighborhood managed to do both. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated immediately, and the atmosphere had a welcoming energy that made the restaurant feel like a true neighborhood gathering place. Susan ordered the Quiche Lorraine, and after the first bite we both knew it was something special. The crust was delicate and buttery while the filling was rich and perfectly balanced. It was so impressive that we awarded it our Culinary Duo Best of the Best dish recognition, which is something we reserve for truly standout dishes. Peter went in a different direction and ordered the Sweet Potato Pancakes with house made white cheddar hash browns. The pancakes were flavorful and comforting, and the hash browns were crispy with bold cheddar flavor that made them impossible to stop eating. Another thing we appreciated was learning that Biscottis carries the Slow Food First Coast Snail of Approval, recognizing restaurants that support sustainable agriculture and local food traditions. The service throughout the visit was cheerful and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. If you enjoy restaurants that combine great brunch dishes, incredible desserts, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, Biscottis is definitely worth visiting.

The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment.

Some items were excellent and well-prepared, while others felt a little pricey for the portion size. The cocktails were creative and well-made, though drinks can add up quickly. Service was friendly and professional, but during busy hours things moved a bit slower than expected. Parking can also be limited depending on the time of day, so arriving early helps.
