I love croissants- so when I saw a post about this local shop I had to make time to try them! Today was that day! After lunch, John didn't want to go straight home, I plugged in the directions to Cruffin & Tea and we were off! A small warning- their parking lot is horrible, no one wants a parking lot designed in a spiral (I don't hold it against the small business though). Google dumped us in the parking lot across the street, but I spotted the building sign and we managed. Inside- light, airy, beautifully decorated. I love the bookshelves full of books. The case had delights a plenty! Croissants, Cruffins, Cookies, Pastries and more! I have a friend who also loves croissants, but her local bakery won't sell them plain! You can grab one here! And I think I will be back to pick one up for her this week as a treat! John picked the cruffin- he inhaled it and loved every bite! California Girl Here ‍ Visiting from SD to & oh boy this is my new favorite spot to visit. The owner did so well in making this place comfortable, welcoming, and yummy all at the same time. I got the Matcha Mango sticky Rice because my sister has not stop raving about it. My sister and I are obsesssssedd with matcha. We have this favorite spot of ours in Austin Texas and not even California matcha can beat it. Oh boy, this place was just as amazing. This matcha was not too heavy cream and felt light and the mix of the sticky mango was to its TEAAA. The pastries smell sooo delicious and I'm looking forward to visit Jax and come back here to try the Lavender and pastries! Honestly, better than any place in Cali!!! This may be my new favorite place. It has the perfect trifecta of easy and plentiful parking, delicious matcha, and gorgeous ambiance with lots of seating. Perfect. I've been wanting to try this place since they opened and finally had a reason to go to the southside. The establishment is small and quaint, but it seems like the perfect environment for someone that just wants a nice pastry and to handle business calls. The lobby had a few patrons with mostly everyone focused on their laptops and work. It's not a huge establishment, but it is very cute and has a boutique vibe. I decided to get a croissant and it was 10 out of 10. I loved all of the natural light inside the business and it was a great place to just sit and finish my food. The cashier was extremely nice although I use the kiosk to order my food. The only downside to this business is possibly the parking which was a bit of a struggle. There is parking around the building, but directly in front seems to always be full. I came here to get some studying done and a little snack. Great atmosphere and has about 10 plugs lined on their plant wall/divider so it was helpful with charging my laptop. Seats are comfortable. All the workers are very sweet and I believe the owner was also in shop today and was super kind to every customer. I got their dog croissant and the croissant was sooooooo flaky! I had to post it on my social media and text my bf right away about how amazing it was. I usually wouldn't think it's worth $8 but most prices are going up so I would expect prices to be close to this in other places but it was just SO flaky and warm that it was worth it. I'm also going to take some sweet croissants to go but my order hit the savory spot for sure! I have to come back to try their drinks but first time in and I was pleasantly surprised and will be a repeat customer. It can get a little cramped if there is a lot of people. Also, their WiFi does not load Canvas, which is frustrating for a student perspective. They have a variety of options for matcha and pastries -- which are all handmade!! I like that they do not pre-sweeten their matcha, so to adjust the level of sweetness on my own. I'd love to gate keep this cafe for myself cause I genuinely enjoyed the peace and quiet while I was there. There's big enough seating for business meetings or work from home girlies who want a different view while working. I like how their matcha is not overly sweet. You can taste the strawberry and the matcha doesn't taste grassy either. Their croissant buns are perfectly flaky and not oily at all. And last but not the least, their macaron is simply divine. Service is similar to other cafes but I noticed a handful of customers that the cashier knew so they must have regulars already even though they just opened. Love and hate that this new bakery is down the street from me because I'll be coming here so much! The inside had a great atmosphere and was decorated very cute like you're in an outside garden! There is an iPad you can order from or you can order from the front counter. We got the chocolate cruffin, almond , and the fruit tart. The cruffin was delicious! The dough so airy! The chocolate inside was kind of like a light mousse, not too sweet but just right! We loved the almond paste in the croissant and the croissant itself. I really enjoyed the fruit tart! Next time I will get a matcha! I didn't this visit because I already had a latte before coming and I'm trying to have only 1 caffeinated drink a day. They only have matcha here. No coffee. We got there a bit late, I would say around 5pm. Not sure if they were just out of bakery items or they just didn't have anymore on display but we were able to snag a strawberry croissant. It was delicious, it was light and the filling was not too sweet. It's big enough to share but I also didn't want to share. The cafe was light , airy and well decorated with a photowall for selfies. They also have a selection of board games to enjoy with company. The menu was interesting and covered the necessary bases for a sweet tooth. I sampled the Nutella cookie which captured the crunch and sweetness that one would desire. The other pastries were fresh, delicious and satisfying. The mango matcha latte was a favorite. Service was quick and friendly . I arrived to late to get the cruffins as the sold out quickly! This is such a fast five stars and thank you Yelp for introducing me to this place! I stopped in before a work training to grab a quick bite and I was really craving a good Matcha. I ordered at the kiosk so I was able to look through all the pictures and I finally selected the pistachio cream coffin, the ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry Matcha. All three were absolutely incredible. Every single bite. I closed my eyes so I could make sure I wasn't missing a second of it. While I waited for my food to come, I sat and just took in the restaurant because they've done such a good job with decorating it. Also, there are games for people that are interested in playing games while they either wait for their food or while they eat their food. It may be took 10 minutes to get my food, but it was probably less than that. Boy was everything I ordered also huge at first I thought it was a little bit expensive for the different items but once I saw their size, I realize it was actually relatively fair priced. I went in with a group with friends and our kids. Love the open space and inviting atmosphere. We came in during soft opening, so I do give them some grace during this time. While they're trying to figure out their menu and perfecting the drinks as well as training the baristas. I did receive 20% off as part of their promotion possibly. The Matcha taste super refreshing and not overly sweet. However, the ice was filled to the top, and the amount of Matcha drink was almost only halfway filled. I did suggest it in the suggestion box that they work on that so hopefully that will get fixed soon. The pastry is super fluffy and the pistachio filling is so Delicious and runny. I noticed that everything was made to order and the pastries are freshly baked daily. I highly recommend this place if you haven't been just to give it a try. The kiosk interface is easy to use and has pictures for most items. I order the hot dog pastry and the mango sticky rice matcha. The hot dog pastry was flaky, buttery, and delicious! It wasn't overly salty and came with ketchup and mustard packets. The drink was alright the matcha tasted more earthy and although the mango sticky rice part was delicious it didn't mesh well with the matcha. This time we tried three things. My favorite was probably the Oreo croissant cinnamon roll. Our group disagreed on whether they preferred it or the regular croissant cinnamon roll, which we'd tried before. I think I preferred the regular one, though this was still good. I also liked the hot dog croissant, though I think I remember liking it even more the first time I had it. The disappointment was the Ube cruffin: it was pleasant, but we wouldn't get it again. The first time I was here I tried the chocolate cruffin, filled with chocolate cream, and liked it. This one didn't seem to have as much cream inside it as the chocolate one, a negative. I asked the cashier for a recommendation since it was my first time, and he recommended their new raspberry Cruffin filled with raspberry filling and vanilla cream. The seating is mostly community seating with games available to be played by guests. When you walk in, there is an iPad kiosk for you to place your order. You then wait to be called once your order is done. I ordered a hot lavender matcha and a cinnamon roll. Once they called me I only received my drink and I wasn't sure why. After a minute I went back to check on my cinnamon roll and received an update. One of the best warnings I can give you is the cinnamon roll was made fresh to order so there is a bit of a wait. I didn't realize this when I ordered it but boy was it worth it! It was truly the best cinnamon roll I've had ever. Hot, fresh, and not gummy. Absolutely amazing. They were very busy when we went and given the communal seating, we had to wipe down the seat and table as a heads up. I think they're new so hopefully they get a good rhythm and can wipe the seating down more frequently so customers don't have to. Give this place a try and get that cinnamon roll! read more

$10 for a lumpy gross Matcha. It definitely looks pretty but the Matcha was not good. It seems like high-quality Matcha, but the oat milk is overpowering, and the flavor comes from this weird lumpy paste at the bottom if you only care about the drink for the Instagram pictures then do it. read more

Both our selections were flaky, buttery, and fresh. The matcha was a bit of a disappointment, the matcha itself was of good quality but it wasn't as sweet as I expected, especially considering it was a banana bread matcha. The banana syrup for the matcha had a strange texture that reminds me of boba bubbles...it wasn't it for me. For our two specialty lattes and our two baked goods, the total came to over $40, so not very accessible for those on a budget.
