Inside of the cruffin
Kristy K.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. Cute little spot with a very tempting pastry cabinet and interesting menu. Breakfast all day! I love that. Service was friendly and helpful. I got the Gourmet Egg Sandwich just the way it comes and it was delightful. Do note that it doesn't come with any sides but it was the perfect size for my lunch on its own. I took a vanilla cinnamon sugar cruffin home with me and am still thinking about it a week later.

When our normal vegan bakery was closed for the holidays, we decided to try a new spot. Guess what, it was freaking AMAZING. Service was warm and efficient and our questions of what is dairy free, what is gluten free and what is regular were answered quickly. Our server made it seem like we were the most important customers of the day. What did we try? Snickerdoodle Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Pecan Bar Chocolate Chip Muffin Everything was FANTASTIC in fact the pecan bar was so good, I may dream about it. Parking is plentiful, but finding it the first time may be harder, but once you find it, you will be golden.

I walked into the place and was prepared to buy a box of goodies for my family but became overwhemed by sticker shock. I still wanted to support so I grabbed my chocolate chip muffin to go and some extra napkins. I got in my car and grabbed the muffin from the bag to prepare for my yelp picture and I found it was pretty heavy. It had some serious weight to it and was a good size. So I placed napkins all around my lap and cross my chest, knowing that I'm going to end up in a mess while I try to eat some of this while I'm driving and I took off. My first bite, I'm like this is so moist, not crumbly or dry. I could only eat half of it before I was full. I got done, and noticed there was no crumbles on my shirt and none in in my car seat. It was delicious and yes it was worth the price of five dollars and now I'm sorry I didn't order more. Guess I will be back soon!

Mushroom Quiche

What a great little find, well actually our friends recommended it, but it is still really good! I opted for a French Toast Iced Coffee and a Wild Mushroom Quiche with a side salad. The coffee was very good and tasted like french toast, without being overly sweet. I highly recommend it. The quiche was excellent and had a wonderful flaky crust and some great flavors of mushroom. What I did not expect was how phenomenal the dressing that is served with the side salad would be. Wow, it really was a wonderful dressing. The staff here was great, as well as all of the items we ordered. We will for sure stop in again.

Inside the place seems clean and simple. Chairs are ok, but doesn't seem like a warm nor comfortable place to enjoy your coffee. Service was cold and aloof. Food was good, but not go out of your way for it good. It's a good place if it's on your route, but not a get your friends and come enjoy time together establishment.

It was okay. I look forward to coming back and writing and updating soon. I am sorry, but I feel the prices are extremely high. I did get a blueberry & cheese danish and a lemon poppy seed muffin. I had the blueberry danish, I call it that because I did not see any cheese at all. Maybe the sign was wrong. The muffin was very delicious and I shared half of it with a co-worker. He liked it too. Pros, great parking, bakery items, kind employees and clean dining area to enjoy your items. I had mine to go because I was on my way to work. Cons:high prices. Would I recommend? Absolutely

It's called Blueberry for a reason - TRY THE BLUEBERRIES! Inside is a bit echo-y and you might drive by the location without realizing it's even there. Once in, it's alright for breakfast if you'd like to try something new. Straightforward dining area. We weren't sure if we were supposed to clean up ourselves or if the staff did it for you...it didn't seem like the staff was doing too much sanitary turnover. But there were a few tables so maybe we caught them at a busy time. My fiance had the blueberry pancakes and I had the avocado toast. We each had large for-here lattes in huge mugs and shared the blueberry pastry while we waited for our food to arrive. It was all super fresh and yummy. Would return again to try lunch.

Changed quiche :( still good but a lot smaller for the same price. I been coming here for a while now and it was just disappointing

Peach arugula and burrata crostini with arugula salad (seasonal)

The pastries here certainly taste like they are baked with love. It's made from scratch to order. The peach prosciutto and arugula toast was very well made, with just the right amount of all ingredients and a beautiful look. The salad was fresh, had the perfect dressing that tasted like spring. The blueberry pancakes loved up to the hype, they were gigantic and fluffy - not too sweet. Flat white was delicious as was the chai latte; the coffee wasn't too acidic and they have multiple options for milk. There are a ton of vibrant, freshly baked pastries. 8 varieties of muffins, several types of croissants, tarts, cheesecakes, cookies, and brownies. I was impressed with the number of gluten free and vegan options. 6 pastries were gluten free and/or vegan. We tried a gluten free and vegan muffin, which was so tasty, the blackberry chocolate chip. Perfect crumble on top and consistency throughout. The only reason for the four stars is I found it a little overpriced.

Food: My husband had the Gournet Egg Sandwich and he was surprised it had caramelized onions and real fresh eggs. Delicious and he'd eat it again. I had the blueberry pancakes. You could see all the blueberries inside and more on top and strawberries for garnish. One pancake was slightly underdone but still good. Good on the sweetness. Needed very little syrup. Service: Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. Ambiance: Blue and white, contemporary look. Clean! Bathroom has the same blue and white contemporary theme.

The immediate delicious smells that emit from this pretty brick structure as soon as you walk in.... I mean, how could you not love it without even taking a bite of something! If you know, you know ~ This is southern grounds bakery that has been around for years now, but is expanding to their very own store front! So if you have tried southern grounds before, you have probably had a blueberry baked item without even knowing. If you haven't tried, here's the perfect excuse to take a trip to visit this gorgeous new location. The big open windows let so much natural light in which I'm such a huge fan of, (not only because it makes taking pictures and videos so much easier) it's open and cheerful. This cute bakery gives all the aesthetic vibes you are looking for while dining in. The customer service really is a very welcoming experience. Everyone greets you with a big smile, and even after ordering at the counter, employees continue to walk around and check on you. I visited during their busy Friday lunch rush and witnessed the staff going around and asking everyone if everything is tasting ok, or if they needed anything. I loved my first experience at this new location so much, I even purchased a few bakery items to go. (One of which was consumed on the way home in the car) This new bakery would make the perfect cute day date spot, lunch with friends, a quick lunch meeting with clients, or quality time spent with family members in town. Go hungry

Super excited that Blueberry Artisan Bakery has its own location. As someone who loves going to Southern Grounds, I have enjoyed many of their baked goods before they moved. Once more, I can say that the quality of their baked goods is stupendous! Today I ordered a fruit tart and lemon poppy muffin. Yum! So addictive! Even more exciting is that they serve coffee (I saw a Southern Grounds coffee beans bag so maybe they serve it as well) This is a big deal for this area! There's not really a lot of coffee spots in St Nicholas, if any. Today I ordered the Vanilla Cardamom, so pleased that not only do they have speciality flavors but that the coffee is just right. Welcome to St Nicholas, Blueberry Bakery! Your presence has filled all of us here with so much joy.

They give you the whole tea pot!!!!

My favorite was the Ube cheesecake. It was a uniquely different flavor I wasnt expecting. Not too sweet either. The bischoff caramel crepe was not a fan favorite. I dont eat a lot of strawberry shortcake so I'm not sure what I was expecting. This shortcake seemed like it had more whipped cream than anything and maybe that's how they are supposed to be....but Im not sure. The vanilla bean cheesecake was also very good. I will be going back for another slice. Not too sweet, not dry. Nice and creamy. The service was good.

I made it my mission to find the and send her fresh mooncakes. I was thankful for this establishment, as they had five different flavors of mooncakes. This was the only place I located, close enough to Callahan, that actually sells mooncakes. They are located inside of R & D International Market. The bakery is well stocked with a very off sweet treats or savory baked goods. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They labeled each mooncake so we knew the flavors, as they are indivvidually wrapped. We shipped them overnight to her. We also bought doubles so we could try them.as well. The flavors were black sesame, green tea, pineapple, red bean and lotus. The black sesame and red bean were very dense. The lotus and green tea were a lighter texture with great flavor. Our favorite was the lotus with the red bean in second place. It is a quiet, quaint spot among the food court with a few tables to enjoy your purchase while you are there.

The next morning, we had the sausage and scallion bun at home. I liked it, maybe more than the pork bun, and would get it again, though it had the advantage of being reheated at home in the microwave. My wife liked the dough, the hot dog less so (and I must admit the hot dog in the croissant we had a while ago at Cruffin & Tea was better). I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.
