We visited the Southern Grounds location in St. Augustine the day before coming here, and that location truly stood out for its atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, the Neptune Beach location didn't quite have the same charm, and our drinks weren't as good compared to what we had the day prior. That said, I still enjoy Southern Grounds overall and appreciate it far more than the typical corporate coffee chains. The staff is super friendly and sweet. It's got a retro but industrial farmhouse look inside which is super cute - and the patio is open and inviting. We ordered two coffee- a cold brew with lavender for me and toasty pumpkin latte for him. He got a chocolate chip caramel cookie and I got a nutter butter cookie. We both thoroughly enjoyed our cookies, demolishing them before our drinks came. He demolished his drink before I got to my drink. Super well portioned and tasty. I used to love this café -- we had many meetings here before. The food was always delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. But something has changed. I hadn't visited for more than six months, and we recently came back for a business meeting. We ordered a salmon toast and coffee, and when the food arrived, I was shocked. The ingredients looked like they were just thrown together, and the presentation was very unappealing. I asked them to remake the toast, but the second one was even worse. The bread was burnt, and there was only a very small piece of salmon, not to mention almost no filling. I will not be coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone. Please improve -- your location is great, and I would have loved to keep coming here, but now I remember our meal with disappointment. Parking on the weekend was free but it's usually paid with one of the mobile apps. My cortado was perfect. Served in the proper short glass, it was delicious and had the right amount of caffeine to keep me going. Love the mocha latte visited multiple times just to get that. Today I got the chocolate chip salted caramel cookie boy was it yummy. The reason for the 4 star is my daughter spent over $20 on her breakfast she got the breakfast burrito and it wasn't even hot like I mean the cheese had melted when it was originally made and had turn firm again. They have one the of best coffee shop menus that I know of and the staff is always friendly and timely. The shop is large and has plenty of seating, although you may need to venture outside on a weekend morning to grab a table. This time I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and the salmon toast, topped with herb cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, cucumber, and fresh dill on pumpernickel. Absolutely fantastic! I wish there was more salmon on top but it was a great dish that I'll be looking to recreate at home. Look first the bad - parking is all paid parking, that has nothing to do with this business, but be prepared. You get 30 minutes free, after that, it cost money... Walked in, there was a line which went very quickly - my turn to order... I asked for hot Earl Grey with cream. The gentleman suggested that I try a London fog, something I've never had before, but it's an Earl Grey with heated cream, absolutely delicious.
