Perfectly located next to the Navy Lodge and right on the beach, this is exactly what you'd want in a quiet wine bar. Not into wine? They've got other drinks too. Food is on point- the Chef knows what he's doing and all of his dishes are delicious. You can tell he puts a lot into his craft. Bartenders are lovely and go the extra mile to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Did you know they receive special training to recognize potential dangerous situations amongst patrons? MWR really needs to get it together on their operations strategy. This place is never open on weekends and is only open for 4 hours three days a week. Seriously?? The ambiance on the patio is great, the bar and "dining room" are definitely just repurposed rooms and have that cold, style-less "event catering" feeling. Food is decent, drinks are good, but as someone else stated, they're more complicated than the staff can handle (MWR doesn't pay good enough rates or give good enough hours to hire very good staff). I was so excited when this place opened, but it's yet another useless MWR amenity that's never open. I would love to come on a Saturday and have brunch before heading to the beach, and pop back in on my way out for another drink and a snack, but no, they're not open. It's a fait accompli: everything is closed because everyone deserts the base on nights and weekends, but everyone deserts the base on nights and weekends because everything is closed. This is a massive operations issue that Jacksonville has in general, and especially when it comes to MWR operations at Mayport. Just awful. read more

We always walk by this place when walking to the beach but this was my first time actually going in. The place is Navy and wine inspired. Lol The front room with the bar is pretty spacious but there is another banquet room in the back that opens up to outdoor seating facing the beach. It's very cozy and welcoming. You seat yourself. Our server was quick to greet us though. She was very pleasant and attentive. I went with the chorizo hash bash while my friend went with the crabby bene. We didn't need any more food but ordered the mixed berry stuffed French toast because the picture made it look amazing. Chorizo hash bash had a nice kick and was delicious. I like my potatoes more crispy but these were ok. I'm told the crab Benedict was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was a little on the sweet side though. Nothing a little hot sauce couldn't fix. Lol. The French toast was delicious. We each tried a little and the rest was packed up to go. We were there for breakfast but our server told us all about their afternoon menu and wine flights. She also unlocked the wine room and let us check it out. They occasionally have live music and themed nights so we will definitely return to check that out. It was a really nice way to start the day off. Pro: it's located practically on the beach so it was easy to walk off the food right after and it's a beautiful view. read more

Relaxing and peaceful views here! When I come here, I only dine outside in the back facing the ocean. Personally, I enjoy coming here during the week (during the week they're only open Wednesday through Friday 7am to 11am) because it's typically never crowded and I enjoy the peace and tranquility that come with the amazing views and ocean breeze. The menu items are very good quality and reasonably priced. My only reason for docking a star on my review is because they're booked quite frequently (usually majority of the restaurant is reserved), service is not the fastest (however, the managing owner Carol is kind and amiable), and on numerous occasions they don't answer the phone so it's difficult to plan breakfast or brunch when they don't answer the phone and on several occasions, I've had to be turned away on a empty hungry stomach which isn't a good feeling. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you have the opportunity. My personal recommendations are the mimosas (get the bottomless jug) and the blue crabomelette. read more

Came here on a Friday evening (3/29/19) because I was staying at the navy lodge next door without a car. Walked by this place going to the CPO Club just down the street. However, the CPO Club kitchen was closed and the club was going to close at 6:00. Really? This place was a bit stuffy and trying a little too hard to be something that's never going to work on a Navy base. The craft cocktails are a bit complicated and take forever to make. I sat at the bar because that's where everyone else was sitting. The atmosphere at the tables was just not going to work , ever, for anyone. I tried the Hypnotic Margarita for $11. Wish I had taken a picture because it was small like the rest of their drinks. It wasn't very good and definitely not worth the money. I also tried the Jalapeno Bacon wrapped Pork Medallions for $10.50. They were good but there were only three tiny medallions with a little bit of greens thrown on top of some grits. Needless to say when I left this place I was still hungry and looking for a better drink. I know this place is new. In my opinion you should have put some effort into renovating and driving some more business to the CPO club instead. read more
