Our history with Ford's Garage goes all the way back to when we first moved to Florida. After a long drive from Maryland with Apollo and Kaya, one of our first meals in St. Augustine was at Ford's Garage. We sat outside on the patio, decompressed after the trip and enjoyed exactly the kind of casual, comforting meal we needed. Peter is a former Ford dealer, so obviously the automotive décor, vintage memorabilia and old Ford above the bar were going to get his attention. But décor alone does not keep people coming back. We have returned many times because the food and overall experience have consistently delivered. On our latest visit, we wanted to experience some old favorites and look at the restaurant through a different lens because a new Ford's Garage is coming to the Beachwalk area where we live. We started with the Piston Onion Rings, which come stacked dramatically on a funnel. Crispy, golden and accompanied by ranch and Chipotle ketchup. Peter has tried more than once to duplicate the Chipotle ketchup at home, which should tell you how he feels about it. We also had Edsel's Hot Pretzels, which are large, warm and fluffy and served with beer cheese and honey mustard. The Ford's Pickles were Susan's department. They had a crispy coating and plenty of flavor. Peter is not a pickle fan, so he happily delegated that part of the review. For serious comfort food, the Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends Melt is outstanding. It combines brisket caramelized in bourbon barbecue sauce with sharp cheddar and bacon jam on grilled country white toast. Peter ordered the Model "A" Burger, topped with sharp cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon, pico de gallo, arugula, lettuce, tomato, red onion and a sunny side up egg. It is a lot of burger. The Ford branded brioche bun makes the presentation memorable, and fortunately the burger itself delivered just as strongly. Susan chose the Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl, and this may have been the surprise of the night. We simply did not expect a restaurant best known for burgers and American comfort food to prepare ahi tuna this well. It was served with jasmine rice, avocado, cucumber, pickled red onions and slaw. Very good. Our waiter was terrific and eventually convinced us to try the Brookie Sundae. We had already eaten more than enough. We ordered it anyway. Warm brownie, chewy chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and Oreo crumble arrive together in a warm skillet. No regrets. The experience earned a 59 out of 60 Culinary Duo score and five stars. We also named Ford's Garage St. Augustine Best of the Best, awarded the Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends Melt our Best Dish Award, and gave the Brookie Sundae our Sweet Ending Award. Who will love Ford's Garage? Families. Burger lovers. Car enthusiasts. Groups looking for a fun casual meal. Couples who want an easygoing dinner. And apparently one couple where one person wants seared ahi tuna and the other wants bacon, cheese and an egg on a burger. We are particularly excited because Ford's Garage is coming to Beachwalk. Our future neighborhood location will need to earn its own review once it opens, but if it follows the example set in St. Augustine, Beachwalk and Beacon Lake residents have a lot to look forward to. read more

She makes me think of a cross between Pippy Longstockens and Punky Brewster. Very friendly. Food was good. Garlic parm wings were as close to perfect as you can get. The burger bowl was very good. We had the kids during our visit and truthfully, Riley just doesn't do very good at restaurants (we will keep trying). Lilly loved trying foods! First time dining in at this location and it was great! We stopped in Friday night and managed to beat the dinner rush so were seated quickly. Our server was so kind, attentive and helpful as was the hostess and any other employee we encountered. Food came out quickly and everyone loved their meals. No, I am not in the market to buy a Ford, but this spot is really rad with all the cool models all the way from the 30's and checkout all the refurbished automotive gear all the way to the restroom, so many awesome ideas here. The Estate Burger with fries and the Pulled Pork sandwich with Mac n' Cheese were both really delicious, not too dry on the meats and definitely hit my full tank lol The place is very well-maintained like a car garage and of course, the staff was very friendly, especially our server Ashley who went above and beyond during our visit. Had a fantastic lunch at Ford's Garage in St. Augustine and it really exceeded expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere stood out right away. The whole garage themed setup is really cool with vintage style decor and a fun, laid back vibe that makes it feel more like an experience than just a place to eat. It was cooked as ordered came out quickly. It had bacon, arugula, red onion, tomato & a fried egg on top. It was delicious but I had to eat with knife & fork. You can substitute for onion rings for an up charge. They were very good & the fries as well. I understand it's a chain. They've done a good job. Service was friendly & prompt. The decor is delightful, especially for Ford lovers. Outside, an old Ford was parked, next to ancient gas pumps . We were seated near a model T, which was hanging from the ceiling. It's popular so there was a bit of a wait for inside during the cold spell so we opted for the heated patio. It was warm next to the heater but it wouldn't have been conducive for a larger group to share a heater The food was good - the kettle chips are delicious. We got the kettle nachos and I was not impressed with the cheese sauce so my personal preference is for just the chips. The hamburgers were very good. This location always feels like an experience -- retro service-station décor, car parts/theme everywhere you look, and a fun, lively Sunday crowd. As a table of six arriving at 1:15 PM on a Sunday, we were seated immediately, which genuinely surprised us. I think many assume this place stays packed with long waits, but today was that perfect balance: steady business, great energy, not overcrowded. Our table ordered a little bit of everything: burgers, kids' chicken tenders, a side salad, and the onion ring tower appetizer. The onion rings were wonderfully crispy with that satisfying shatter... but definitely on the oily side. Still tasty, just a little heavier than expected. My burger came out spot-on medium -- juicy, flavorful, and exactly what I hoped for (around $17). Unfortunately, our friend's medium-well burger landed closer to medium, so the kitchen missed that one. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting. The side salad (about $6) was bigger than expected and honestly could pass as a full dinner if you added the kids' chicken tenders ($9). Loved the mix: cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and to my pleasant surprise -- chickpeas, adding protein, fiber, and you don't always see this in a simple side salad. Kudos and Thank you! Service was friendly, food was consistent overall, and aside from one temperature miss, we enjoyed our meal. I did not want to give this place five stars, but wow, the service and food were actually incredible. I came here with my family on a Sunday night and it was moderately busy. We only waited a few minutes before they sat us. We ordered two of the pretzel appetizers and they were gone in a flash. The pretzels were soft and perfectly salted. Our favorite dipping sauce was the honey mustard, but the beer cheese wasn't too bad. I got the green clean burger aka their veggie burger. It was perfectly cooked and chipotle sauce was delicious. The fries were good but were only warm when they came out. The entire restaurant is car themed including the bathroom, they really went all out. Sandwiched (pun intended) between car dealerships and apparently sanctioned by Ford Motor Company, Ford's Garage is an automotive themed high-end burger joint with a good selection of beers. The 1/2 pound burgers are hefty, but not enough to make me feel like I ate way too much. I had the bison burger with kettle chips and both were very good. Make sure to visit the men's room (if you're a guy anyway). Sinks are made from tires with shutoff valve levers for water control. Urinals are made from beer kegs. The atmosphere here is one very fun and unique experience. All the Ford themed memorabilia is truly a step back in time. Service on a Saturday night was busy as expected, but great! The manager helped me move a chair so I could find a single spot at the crowded bar. Bar dinner service was great as well. I ordered a beer from the menu, which they were out of - bummer as it was the only stout they offered. I then ordered a burger, made my way rather than their offered special burgers. It arrived timely but only lukewarm, as we're the meager amount of fries. I had a long drive still ahead so I ate it without complaining. I was surprised to see the bill which was more expensive than the specialty bison burger on the menu, $5 more, which frankly is still too much.
