Went for lunch with hubby This place was highly rated so we wanted to check it out. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and not very big. It has a full bar and also features different breweries. Hubby ordered the pretzel appetizer. He also had the Philly chicken sub with fries. Which he said was good. I had the boneless wings which was the special. The wings were tasty but reminded me more of chicken tenders than wings. I had them put the sauce on the side. Not sure if we will return. read more

We came here on a Saturday night after hearing great things, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We had an 8:00 p.m. reservation, arrived on time, and still had to stand around waiting because there's no waiting area and no table ready. It was clear the restaurant was short-staffed and unprepared. Once seated, we were told they were out of burger buns -- at a burger restaurant. They "made it work" with mini buns, but that's not acceptable, especially given the reputation of this place. To make matters worse, we ordered their signature burger medium rare and it came out almost raw, which made it unpleasant to eat. The frustrating part is that some of the staff were clearly working very hard (including our server Haley). The real issue seems to be poor management, lack of preparation, and no clear procedures -- especially for a busy Saturday night. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. read more

This is a nice little restaurant located in a shopping plaza a couple miles away from the tourist area. Parking here is free and plentiful. I had the chicken parm sandwich, and it was very good. I would have loved for it to have more mozzarella, but this is a common complaint from me (I wish every sandwich I've ever purchased had more cheese). I appreciate the fact that the chicken was crispy on the outside, yet fresh, soft, and juicy on the inside. So many other restaurants have a hard time getting this right. My wife had the Greek Salad, and she said that the dressing was amazing. I was going to knock my rating down to 4 stars due to the price, but then I remembered that this is St Augustine, and their prices really aren't too bad compared to other restaurants in the area. We will definitely consider a return visit. read more

Traveling, he drove past it while I ck on yelp,looked good so we turned around. Got there around 5, not a big place. Sam the bartender was welcoming and made my man happy with a cold Amstel Light, his fav! I got the chicken corn chowder, nice n hot with a kick to it. Prime rib sandwich was good, could have used more meat. He enjoyed the salad that came with it and the mushrooms (for me ) n onions on the side. When we were leaving the place was filling up. The Press is a cozy spot in a strip mall. We had to make reservations for this small place, otherwise we would not have been seated. Food was good. Portions were large and the service was good. We were interested in trying the large pretzel with the cheese sauce. So yummy. For entrees we had the goat cheese and spinach flatbread, the el Cuban, the Cabernet mushroom and Swiss burger, the prime rib sandwich and side salad. The burger was really good, but I don't care for Swiss cheese. It seems you can't ask for substitutions here. However, I did like it regardless. The day we dined had a dessert special of Key Lime Pie for $5, so look for that on Thursday nights, if available. The portions were good but overall I thought the prices were fair considering the quality of ingredients. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. We've been here twice, and each time has been great. My husband had a burger for lunch the first time, and had it again for dinner 2 weeks later. The sauce and mushrooms were excellent each time. They make their own buns and the fries are hand cut. The first time I had the chicken sandwich Italian style . So good! Next time I customized a burger with grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms. Cooked perfectly and it it a big burger. A boy of about 10 walking by commented on how good the burgers looked. So filling, so we haven't tried desserts there. read more

The small dining room was packed, and dinners were patiently waiting inside and outside. That was the indicator of excellent cuisine. This chef driven, no kidding tasty food and extremely friendly place won our heart last night. We drove from Orlando to the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine, and decided to have dinner at The Press. The Open Table reservation at 7 truly helped. We walked in at 7 and Brystol asked me, "Are you Tony?" Then she sat us right away. The folks in the queue was impressed. Brystol was also our server. We recommended the Sangria, so we took one red and one white. They only have beers, wines, and Sangria. We started with the Ginger Calamari, which was delicious and fresh. I also tried the House Onion Soup, which I really liked the way it was -- not so much of cheese and I could taste the sweetness of the onion and other ingridients. We ordered the 2 special dishes of the evening, both with a touch of New Orleans flavors. I had the steak and shrimp, with medium heat; my guest had the fish and shrimp. The entree portions were huge, but well garnished. My medium steak was perfect. I loved the way the greenbeans were cooked, still green and crunchy. Each main course came with a side salad with a dressing of choice. No room for desserts after such a great meal. I couldn't get the name of the young man who expedited the food, but he made the dining experience special, with nice smiles and prompt attention. I wish this place can grow and perhaps expend its dining room by taking over the spot next door. They deserve the higher ranking though not to be right at the historic corridor. I sincerely thanked the culinary team and Brystol for such a great dining experience. We will return soon. read more

FOOD = 5+; SERVICE = 0 We have eaten here MANY times and never had an issue... until last night (Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026) We had a reservation for 7:30, but arrived early (6:00pm) with the expectation of sitting at the bar. The manager (by title only, and not big on customer service) seemed upset with us for sitting at the bar, and then totally ignored us after we sat down. After waiting for a long time, while she waited on other guests, I finally got her attention to order drinks, which took her an additional 10-15 minutes to pour and serve. They were offering a 3-course meal for Valentine's Day, but was not what we wanted, as we usually just share the steak special. When she finally got around to taking our order we ordered the "Steak Special" (on the menu) I explained that we did not want the Valentine's special, but just the steak entree. She replied (quite rudely) "We don't have a steak special tonight!" Although it's clearly on their regular menu. That was the last straw for us and we decided to go elsewhere. I asked her to please close out our tab as we were headed somewhere else. We also decided to let her know that her attitude, and ignoring us for most of the visit had ruined what we had hoped to be a great meal and celebration at our favorite restaurant for Valentine's Day. After we called her out for her attitude and poor service, she was overly apologetic and wouldn't stop explaining herself. I had to ask her to please stop apologizing because the damage was done. If she was truly sorry for treating us so poorly, she shouldn't have treated us that way to begin with. We did enjoy a meal at another local restaurant where we received the kindest service that was truly appreciated. VERY disappointed with the service, but will be back (probably not soon) for the excellent food. read more

From outside, it doesn't look like much with only about 10 tables and as many seats at the bar. We were seated rather quickly and service was relatively quick despite being packed.
