Our mixologist was named Talon; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He started by asking us what we usually like to drink (spirits and flavor profiles). Once we gave him the information he needed, Talon proceeded to make us some amazing cocktails. I absolutely loved mine and could have drank them all night. I tried some of my friends' drinks and they were all excellent as well. We ordered several appetizers to share (guacamole, wings, empanadas, and mojo chicharrones), everything was very tasty. Talon came back over to ask us what options we'd like for our second round or drinks, so we all went with something different than the first order. Every cocktail he served us was really good and based on our individual tastes and preferences. I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Odd Birds regularly. For our main course, we elected to split 2 of the specials of the day so they may not be there when you go, but judging by the quality of the specials, any dish would be great. We ordered the hand cut fries, strawberry and beet salad, and the gochujang marinated pork chop. I also ordered a few of their drinks, each one featuring different types of ice to fit the drink. Honestly all the food and the drinks were so good, but the easy standout of the night for both my spouse and I were the pork chops. These might have been the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. The pork chops were incredibly tender and juicy, not dry at all. I was expecting it to be a little dry, as I feel like pork chop can sometimes get overcooked, but no. These were so juicy and tender. I asked our server how the pork chop was cooked. Our server said that the pork chops were cooked sous vide, which makes a lot of sense as to how they were so tender. I had warm, made-from-scratch gluten-free biscuits with pork belly and a peach bourbon jam, and oh my goodness -- absolutely to die for. Everyone at the table enjoyed them. It is not often that you find a gluten-free biscuit that feels like you are getting the full experience rather than settling for an alternative. I was also impressed by how many gluten-free options they offer. Even their po' boy can be battered with rice flour. Our waiter explained that the chef is gluten-free and that they are very mindful of guests with celiac disease, including separating food preparation when needed. That level of care is a huge plus. And it wasn't just the gluten-free food that impressed us. One friend ordered the meatloaf sandwich and received a seriously hearty piece of meatloaf. My husband had the BLT with pimento cheese on thick sourdough bread, and it was excellent. It was absolutely perfect for us even though we choose to avoid 80% of the available options. From what I remember, the buffet had scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, bagels, muffins, cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, water bottles, and much more. The fruit was individually packaged and located in a "take what you want" fridge with the yogurt, water, and I think there were some other things in there. We were also offered coffee. We accepted and were thrilled when this amazing Italian coffee arrived (Lavazza). It was some of the best coffee I have had in a long time. The service was also impeccable. We had two incredibly nice ladies waiting on us. They kept our coffee full, encouraged us to eat more, offered to bring us juice, kept the table clear, told us to take water bottles with us on our adventures, and more. They were so sweet.
