This small spot is a great stop! The employees are very friendly. It is a little warm, temperature wise inside. In the middle of the summer, any place is going to be warm though. I got the datil, cream cheese stuffed burger. The datil was a good spice and one that I would expect of a datil pepper. The beef could have had a little more seasoning, but it was nice and thick. The French fries were crisp. I also got a red sangria which was only $4.50 and very refreshing. I would have ordered a second one had the waitress come by before we were finished our meal. She wasn't necessarily neglecting our table, she was just managing quite a few. Not a big deal and we weren't mad, just saying the drink was that good. They have some great selections of salads, flatbreads, and other sandwiches. read more

We had a pleasant dinner here. The restaurant is very small, and not a lot of atmosphere, but we were lucky to walk right in and snag a table on a Saturday night. We had to wait a bit to be served, but the wait staff were hustling. Good for them that they're busy. They have a beer/wine menu only. I had a red sangria. Tasty but very sweet. This place has been voted "Best Burger", and that's what my husband chose. I got the chicken sandwich. They make their own buns, they make their own interesting sauces, and this chicken sandwich was delicious! We were happy to try a new spot and support local. read more

Fantastic! You must try The Press. Sam welcomed us in and explained all the deets. She and her Dad own the restaurant, plus her Dad bakes the buns fresh each morning. Great selection of beer, I stayed local and tried the St Augustine red ale. We had the pretzel as the appetizer, big win, and assortment of entrees from burgers, chicken, and fish sammiches. They were all delicious. The fries were well done as I ordered which is the way I like them, and tasted awesome. Great atmosphere, laid back, and just the kind of place to be. I used to love this place. Hadn't eaten here in awhile though so yesterday i ordered lunch special, buffalo chicken wings, to go. When i opened container i found what appeared to be frozen chicken nuggets NOT wings. First bite was a SALT BOMB so i tried to scrape off coTing to no avail. I couldn't eat the celery stick because they were old. And looked bad. I tried one more chicken piece and then drank alot of water to kill the overpowering salt. The rest went in the trash. So sad. Extremely disappointed in the advertised "giant pork schnitzel sandwich". The homemade buns are great - but just regular size, not extra large for the sandwich. The schnitzel didn't even stick out from the bun. We've had it in the past and had to share it because of the size. Mentioned it to our server - she said she would let "them" know. Oh my gooooodness. I would give it more stars if I could. This place was amazing. We went on a whim for my son's bday. I had the stuffed burger and fried pickles. My son has the conquistador. (pictured) It took him a hot minute but he said it was the best thing he'd ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly, and we talked for a good minute since we are here on vacation. Went here for the first time this afternoon, although been in St. Augustine for almost 3 years. Had the Cowboy Burger. Ordered it cooked medium. I have to say that this is one of the best hamburgers I have eaten in the past few years... very thick, juicy, excellent bun, and toppings were superb! Ordered cold slaw on the side and it was better than in most places I've fined. Our server was very attentive to our needs, as well. The setting is primarily a bar with tables lining the side. Reminds me of a few other places I've had excellent burgers (Daytona, Nee Orleans, etc.). The other patrons seemed familiar with each other and the place... guessing I'd say they are regulars. Services was ok. One of the severs seem not to like her job (the one who brought our food). A smile can go a long way. Black bean soup: 4.5 stars. Very good and tasty. It was balanced but I like my soups tone a tad thicker. Regardless, I'll have it again. The Conquistador: that thing is huge. Only one way to describe this place - AMAZING. The roasted vegetable salad was out of this world. They make a homemade ketchup that we couldn't get enough of. Finally made it to this establishment. I've tried a couple of times and had been disappointed on Monday at least twice - they're closed on Mondays. Anyway, as much as I wanted to get the fish special of the day, I knew I had to start with a burger since that is what the hype I have always heard about. I had the DATIL BURGER which is a 1/2 pound burger stuffed with a Datil pepper & scallion cream cheese and grilled. The flavors were there but I thought the burger could have been cooked a little more - asked for medium - and I would've liked to have had a little more sear. Still a winner. I had also heard about the pickles so we started with the fried pickles and they were excellent. They were a little sweeter than a dill and I'm thinking they may actually be homemade. I look forward for a return visit to try one of their dinner entrees. read more

I was in the mood for a burger and decided to explore Yelp to find someplace new to try. I found The Press and decided it might be worth the drive in that direction. When I saw "The Conquistador" on the menu I thought "why not, they had me at Datil Pepper". Wow was that a tall burger, and that was before adding the garden to it. It was a wonderful taste combination and I must say that I conquered it. It paired well with the Bell's Brewery Oberon Wheat Ale (like I have any idea about pairing a beverage with anything). And just when I thought I was done...my waitress Nykki mentioned "White Chocolate Bread Pudding" for desert. Who would I be for walking away from that? OH MY!!! I was going to stop at Culver's on the way home and I'm so glad I chose to try this. I wanted to say it was like Flan had a delicious older sister but it's more complicated than that. But it was it sweet while it lasted. read more

Everyone knows there is nothing worse then a dry cheesesteak. Bread was soft, onions caramelized and on the bigger side for sure. It's for sure a very finely chopped steak. I can see us coming back and enjoying again.

The server kindly requested we wait while she buses/cleans the table. It seemed like that server (Heather, I think?) was the busser, server, and bartender for the whole restaurant. I saw only one other person working there, which I believe was the cook. With a packed restaurant, Heather was still able to provide us good service. Unfortunately, the place needs a deep cleaning as exhibited by the insanely dusty chandelier pictured. My burger was pretty good, but the queso con carne was essentially super-greasy chili with cheese on top. There are plenty of other bars/restaurants to choose from, this one wasn't it for me.
