Asian Thai Salad with Chicken Breast
    Laura S.

Food here is always awesome..today we got the Cuban with potato wedges, Blackened Cod Sandwich and the Asian Thai Salad with Chicken!

Stopped by Transfer Station and tried one of their burgers -- definitely worth it. The burger was cooked just right, juicy, and full of flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and everything tasted well put together, not rushed. The bun held up perfectly, and the toppings complemented the meat instead of overpowering it. Overall, solid quality and a great spot if you're craving a good burger. I'd come back for sure.

Hidden gem. Everything is good. There's a reason why I'm a regular. Can't wait for their brick and mortar opening soon.

Their menu, although it does change.

What a great casual spot to grab some amazing food! Transfer station is great for everyone, including kids. The menu is always changing, so it's fun to come back and try new things. They are always able to accommodate dietary needs, etc.

    Transfer Station menu 7/25/25.

Located on the back patio of The Wandering Tortoise, Transfer Station deserves major accolades. They have one of the best burgers in the Phx area, amazingly accommodating and friendly staff, and the chef knows what he's doing because I've never eaten anything from TS that hasn't been outstanding. This is not "bar food," this 5 star restaurant quality food that just happens to be housed in the back of the Wandering Tortoise beer bar. My favorites include the Crispy Chicken Sando, and the burger (double patty takes it up a notch but one patty is equally amazing) is great. Fresh toppings, quality patties. Oh and the Asian salad side is simple yet phenomenal. This is a must visit foodie destination. Their Daily Specials vary but are crazy inventive; duck confit bratwurst, insane wings. The originality of their specials is unmatched. On top of this their pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food you get.

The food was excellent! The service was excellent. However the indoor seating smells like stale beer?

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and shared a couple of dishes including the delicious meatloaf with poached eggs, home fries and beans. It absolutely lived up to its reputation: hearty, flavorful and seriously satisfying. We also shared the tenderloin toast with tender pieces of steak served on baguette slices and topped with melted Brie. Rich, delicious and perfect for sharing. The drinks are stiff, the staff is genuinely friendly and the Bloody Mary definitely did not disappoint. The whole place has a cozy, tucked-away atmosphere that makes the "Hideaway" name especially fitting. Parking can be a little tricky, but that's a minor inconvenience for a place this good. Dick's is part of the Richardson's family of restaurants, with a couple of sister spots nearby, and it's easy to see why they've built such a loyal following. A hidden gem worth seeking out.

The bone marrow was interesting and flavorful, but I'm not sure it was worth $25. The oysters were good, although I wish there had been a few different sauce options beyond the basic preparation. The steak was probably a 3.2/5 for me--it was good, but at $62, I expected more, especially considering it was served with fries. Service was good overall, although the experience started off a little strangely. We had made a reservation and mentioned that it was our anniversary, that we were trying a new restaurant, and that we were hoping to make the evening special. Unfortunately, none of that was acknowledged. When we arrived, we were directed to the front, where the hostess seemed confused about our reservation before eventually taking us to our table. I wasn't expecting anything extravagant, but even a simple "Happy Anniversary" would have made a difference. The ambience was definitely one of the highlights--moody, intimate, and a nice setting for a date night. I was actually happy that we were seated along the back wall rather than in the main dining area. Overall, I'd give the experience about a 2.7/5. The food was decent and the atmosphere was nice, but for the price ($85 per person), I expected a little more from both the food and the overall experience. Especially for an anniversary dinner, it was disappointing to make a point of mentioning the occasion and have it go completely unacknowledged.

UPDATE 2026…read more Bluewater is our new favorite seafood restaurant. We went last Wednesday for HH and the bartenders are a fantastic team. They run a very professional bar. The service we received from them was next level. The kitchen did a great job too. I got the fish and chips with walleye. It was flaky goodness paired with crisp and salty fries. I washed it down with a couple smoked old fashoineds. We left with a satisfied smile.

The Spanish octopus was alright. The clam chowder was flavorful and not too salty; definitely made it into the top three clam chowders I've had in the state so far. For our main entrees we ordered the New England lobster roll and the gemelli pasta with shrimp and scallops. The lobster roll was flavorful but felt like it was missing something. The gemelli pasta tasted a bit bland for my taste buds, but the family member I went with really enjoyed it. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered a crème brulee to share. The crème brulee was nice and not overly sweet. Overall, service was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and the food arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with nautical décor throughout which gives off a comfortable and relaxing vibe.

I hadn't tried this location on 7th until just recently, when I came by during happy hour with some friends. There is a spacious parking lot tucked away in the back, opposite of the street view side. This is also where the entrance is! Walk toward the breezeway and it's to your right. Immediately, we were greeted by our host and the warm/inviting atmosphere. I'm impressed by how well decorated both LeDu locations are, in unique ways. We got the fried tofu, passion fizz, lychee martini, jungle bird, and my usual pad thai with beef and beansprouts on the side. Passion Fizz: passion fruit, demerera, sparkling wine - sweet, light, refreshing Lychee martini: vodka, lychee, dry vermouth, lime - sweet, strong, lychee flavor is perfect and not overpowering Jungle Bird: spiced rum, campari, pineapple, lime - sweet, deep flavor from the rum Fried tofu: a little dry even with the sauce, a small portion for the price, not my favorite Pad thai: tangy/sweet, packed with flavor, always delicious from LeDu! Definitely down for another happy hour or meal here anytime!

I arrived a bit before 6 to find it closed, no sign on the door and nothing online stating it had closed. So we headed downtown to the second location. I arrived about 6:10 pm and was asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we went to the other location only to find it closed and when we called the only number on the website to make a reservation (earlier in the day), no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. The guy at the door informed us the other location had closed and he couldn't seat us until 8 pm unless we wanted to sit at the bar. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there. A restaurant should always have a manager or someone on site empowered to address customer concerns. We agreed to sit at the bar. First we ordered cocktails for $17 each. While they were tasty and refreshing, they had virtually no alcohol. I ordered the Kra Pow and, on the server's recommendation, chose the pork belly. My friend ordered the Pad Ki-Mao with pork belly. After waiting 30-45 minutes for the food, it finally arrived. Mine was dry pieces of pork belly, dry rice, an egg and three cucumber slices, no sauce whatsoever. When I asked for sauce, I was offered soy sauce and hot chili. My friend's noodles were tasty, but she also thought her pork belly was dry. The server, who was also the host and bartender didn't check in on us a single time during our meal. Between the outdated website, unanswered phone, lack of management and service, long wait and underwhelming food and drinks, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I expected much more from this place.
