Very disappointing experience from start to finish. A friend and I originally planned to meet at the 7th Street location at 6 p.m., which is still listed on their website as one of two locations. I arrived a bit before 6 to find it closed, no sign on the door and nothing online stating it had closed. So we headed downtown to the second location. I arrived about 6:10 pm and was asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we went to the other location only to find it closed and when we called the only number on the website to make a reservation (earlier in the day), no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. The guy at the door informed us the other location had closed and he couldn't seat us until 8 pm unless we wanted to sit at the bar. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there. A restaurant should always have a manager or someone on site empowered to address customer concerns. We agreed to sit at the bar. First we ordered cocktails for $17 each. While they were tasty and refreshing, they had virtually no alcohol. I ordered the Kra Pow and, on the server's recommendation, chose the pork belly. My friend ordered the Pad Ki-Mao with pork belly. After waiting 30-45 minutes for the food, it finally arrived. Mine was dry pieces of pork belly, dry rice, an egg and three cucumber slices, no sauce whatsoever. When I asked for sauce, I was offered soy sauce and hot chili. My friend's noodles were tasty, but she also thought her pork belly was dry. The server, who was also the host and bartender didn't check in on us a single time during our meal. Between the outdated website, unanswered phone, lack of management and service, long wait and underwhelming food and drinks, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I expected much more from this place. read more

LeDu Thai has been one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Phoenix since trying the Roosevelt Row location last year. I hadn't tried this location on 7th until just recently, when I came by during happy hour with some friends. There is a spacious parking lot tucked away in the back, opposite of the street view side. This is also where the entrance is! Walk toward the breezeway and it's to your right. Immediately, we were greeted by our host and the warm/inviting atmosphere. I'm impressed by how well decorated both LeDu locations are, in unique ways. We got the fried tofu, passion fizz, lychee martini, jungle bird, and my usual pad thai with beef and beansprouts on the side. Passion Fizz: passion fruit, demerera, sparkling wine - sweet, light, refreshing Lychee martini: vodka, lychee, dry vermouth, lime - sweet, strong, lychee flavor is perfect and not overpowering Jungle Bird: spiced rum, campari, pineapple, lime - sweet, deep flavor from the rum Fried tofu: a little dry even with the sauce, a small portion for the price, not my favorite Pad thai: tangy/sweet, packed with flavor, always delicious from LeDu! Food is so so, that Pei Thai is too much saucy and soft, the crab fried rice is lacked of 'fire', in other words, dont feel like is cooled from a restaurant, rather, feels like cook at a home stove. The real bad impression is that for the $$ it costs, the portion is little, in fact, I don't recall seeing such a small portion in any restaurant in my last 30 years. Wow! We had the best dining experience at Ledu! It was amazing! The service was incredible. What a darling restaurant and environment, the atmosphere was a vibe. My daughter and I shared the Som Dtam Tod /which is a crispy papaya salad and the beef Pad Z U. The Som Dtam Tod was absolutely amazing. It's a dish I'll be thinking about forever. It was so unique and so flavorful! The Pad Z U was the best I've had! We ended the evening with their burnt toast with salted caramel ice cream with honey syrup. It was out of this world. We went here for dinner and drinks with some friends. Everyone loved their drinks. I had a "love you, say it back" Mocktail, which I enjoyed. We got the chicken skewers for appetizers, and the sauce on them was really tasty! For my main, I got the crab fried rice, which was really flavorful and good. I ordered mild spice, and the spicy sauce came on the side, so you could make it more spicy. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice, which was also really great! The ambiance was nice, and felt elevated casual. My only complaint is that the service was pretty slow. I went out with some friends today and we tried LeDu Thai on 7th. Originally the plan was to go to the one downtown but it was crazy busy downtown due to some race. So, we switched up and went to the one on 7th. We got to meet and speak with the owner and I got to speak what little Thai I know with her. She was really nice. We ordered and shared. The food was delicious. I liked it. I know, shocker!! Because I'm super picky when it comes to Thai food since I'm Thai. We started with laab moo (ground pork salad) and it was delicious, we got the crab fried rice which was soooo good and they used real crab, we also got pad kee mao gai (drunken noodles with chicken) it was good but a little on the sweet side for me. I think everything could have been spicier though. But that's my fault. I ordered mild because my friends don't do spicy like I do and we were sharing. But the waiter gave me a side of chili powder and chili oil. So that helped. It's a cute little spot with delicious food and friendly staff and I liked the food which says a lot. The only issue is the portions are small for the price you pay. I even told the owner to make the portion size bigger. Lol!! Other than that, I approve. But not enough to take my mom and aunt. Lovely new Thai restaurant in Midtown/Uptown Phoenix! The space is tastefully decorated and welcoming, with indoor and outdoor patio seating. Staff is very warm, full of smiles, and helpful with food/beverage selection! What we ordered: Hat Yai fried chicken starter (deliciously juicy and well seasoned!) Kao Man Naa Nuer: grilled New York strip (rare middle) with egg fried rice. This was a favorite of the table! Green garden wrap: steamed seasoned veggies in a banana leaf wrap served with sticky rice. (Loved the sticky rice! The steamed veggie concoction was okay) Kao Su-i: egg noodles, chicken breast, bean sprouts, pickled mustard greens, red onion in a spicy Thai curry stew. (My favorite) Also, hubby ordered a zero beer and was served something from a Tokyo brewery with a frosted glass! Nice touch. Will definitely return to try even more from their menu. I had seen this place on socials and didn't realize this was their second location! This is next to another newish restaurant, Mensho, and is where Pubblico used to be. There was plenty of parking available when we went, which was for dinner on a Sunday. We had a reservation, but it was fairly empty so it wasn't needed. But if you're going at a more popular time, make sure to plan accordingly. I like that Ledu has the more commonly known dishes like pad Thai, crab fried rice, etc., but they also have signature dishes that are maybe less familiar to most people. I figured I could get one of the common dishes at any Thai place, so I opted for something from their Signature section, the hang pu moo crop, which is egg noodles with crab meat, pork belly, and egg. While it was good, imo it was expensive for the portion size. If I were to come back, I'd like to try one of their curries. Their first location is in downtown Phoenix, but this one on 7th maybe be easier in terms of finding parking, and it's not that much further away. I love that their menu has really captivating pictures of some of their dishes! They also have really unique cocktails. It's gorgeous inside and I loved the vibe of the restaurant. read more

This is exactly what I wanted. You can find a few, good, Thai spots in town, and I'd like you to consider adding this one to your list. The atmosphere is lovely, along with the decor. The staff are so attentive and friendly. They have a good cocktail bar, along with some happy hour choices. I got the Thai Fried Rice and my mom got Gai-Lan with Crispy Pork Belly. Both were delicious and so fresh! We also tried some Hat-Yai chicken wings for an appetizer. It was one of the best fried wing textures I've tasted. It can be hard to see from 7th st, but just turn down E Paulo Verde Dr and there's plenty of parking in the back. They have ample indoor seating and a really cute outdoor patio. Ledu never disappoints! As a Thai, I can say Ledu reliably delivers, whether it's classics like Pad Thai or more regional Thai dishes. This brand-new second location has a bunch of new dishes, and we decided to try three of them. The Kao Man Naa Nuer (NY strip steak with fried rice) was perfect. The steak was tender and juicy, and the flavorful egg fried rice complemented it beautifully. The jaew sauce added just the right touch of tanginess. The Hang Pu Moo Crop (dry egg noodles with crab and pork belly) might be my new favorite. It had that perfect balance of sweet and salty, with a squeeze of lime to brighten it up. So comforting, and the pork belly was perfectly crispy. We also ordered Pad Pak Fai Daeng (stir-fried mixed veggies). I like this dish a tad spicy. We ordered medium, and it tasted just like home. The space is gorgeous (even the bathroom decor is aesthetic!). Service was friendly and attentive, just like at the original spot. What a fantastic addition to the Uptown food scene! read more

Have tried other Thai places and I like the authenticity of this place. The decor and interior is nice plus the outdoor area was nice too. We tried the papaya salad which had good spice and also the chicken wings that were flavorful as well. The grab fried rice was a very good portion compared to other dishes. We stopped by here as a dinner with friends. We were seated outside originally and when we asked to move inside they were very accommodating. I started off with a Wash Away your Sins cocktail and it was tasty. The appetizers we started off with the wings (perfect crunch) and papaya salad (a bit spicy ). We also had the Larb pork which was good (didn't realize it was supposed to be a wrap). The crab fried rice had generous portions and a good amount of crab. Got takeout from here as a last day of the semester treat to myself! It was so good. I ordered online and picked up. It was a tiny bit tough to find but there is signage to follow! Plenty of parking thankfully. Really cute patio here and fun bar area. Pickup was super easy and great service. My drunken noodles with no egg, extra tofu were amazing. I got medium spice and it seemed like a true medium. There was the perfect amount of sauce and it was super flavorful. The crispy garlic really added to the flavor as well. LeDu Thai on Seventh has quickly become one of our go-to spots for Thai food since discovering this location. We're still hoping to try their main downtown location sometime soon. On our first visit, we ordered a variety of dishes to get a feel for the menu. The Chicken Wings appetizer immediately became one of our favorites. They were incredibly crispy and flavorful on the outside while still juicy on the inside. At $15 for five wings it's a bit on the pricey side, but the flavor definitely made them worth trying. The Kao Man Na Nuer was another standout dish. The fried rice had a great texture , crispy on the outside but still fluffy inside, which felt perfectly balanced on our first visit. On our second visit it was a little softer than before, and we did miss that extra crispiness, but it's still one of our favorite dishes here. We also tried the Som Tam Tod, which was new to us this time, and it turned out to be really enjoyable. The sauce was flavorful and paired nicely with the dish. The Tofu Pad Thai was pretty good as well. The tofu itself had great flavor and was cooked well. The only small note was that the noodles leaned a bit on the sour side for our taste, but overall it was still a solid dish. For dessert, we had to order the Bong Bong dessert (Burnt Toast with Ice Cream) again because we loved it so much the first time. The flavor was still delicious, though this visit the bread wasn't quite as crispy as before and felt a little softer than we remembered. Even so, it's still a dessert we would recommend. We tried the Mango Sticky Rice as it was unavailable the last time we came in, but that dessert wasn't one with too much excitement as I feel like Thai-E-San beats them there. Energy and Vibes in this place are always great and we enjoy the decor and appearance of the restaurant and service is always good. Overall, we've really enjoyed our experiences here. The food is flavorful, the menu has some fun options, and it's definitely a place we look forward to coming back to. read more

This has to be the tastiest Thai food I've ever had! I ordered the crispy pork belly with a side of gai lan (Asian broccoli). The pork belly with its sauce was an explosion of umami- so very good! The gai lan was lightly sauteed in oyster sauce and garlic and was a perfect, delicious side dish. My friend let me try a bit of the chicken kra-pow he ordered, and it was also excellent. The food is in the style of the southern part of Thailand , so there is less palm sugar sweetness, which makes the umami factor stand out even more. The restaurant has a simple yet elegant interior, a patio dining space, and a full bar. Service was very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I've been to Ledu Thai multiple times now, and somehow each visit is better than the last. First, the atmosphere is gorgeous, sultry, and thoughtfully designed. The private rooms in the back are such a nice touch (still waiting for a good excuse to use one!). I've sat both in the main dining area and at the bar, and the décor is stunning throughout. For such a small space, they clearly put a lot of intention into every detail. The staff deserves special praise. They're warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You feel taken care of without it being overbearing, and they make sure you're happy with your selections every step of the way. Now let's talk about the food... because wow. One word of caution: respect the spice level. Even if you normally handle heat well, they mean it when they say spicy. I always ask for light spice and request chili flakes or chili oil on the side so I can adjust it myself and I highly recommend everyone doing the same. I've dined here with large groups, on date nights, and with my favorite drinking buddy, so I've been lucky enough to try quite a bit (and steal bites off friends' plates). Highlights include... Drinks: Perfectly made dirty martinis. So balanced, cold, and delicious Appetizers: Som Tam Pok Pok (Thai-style), Neur Nam Tok, Magic Noodles Entrees: Kao So-I, Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork Belly, Thai Fried Rice, Pad Z U, Gaeng Panang Nuer Every single dish was excellent. The seafood was astonishingly fresh, the meat dishes were really well prepared and allowed the other ingredients to shine, and the vegetable dishes were beautifully balanced and clearly not an afterthought. Ledu Thai is an absolute standout! Elevated, intentional, and consistently impressive. If you're anywhere near downtown Phoenix, this place is a must. read more

Tried it today and it was open and looked like a place with wonderful ambiance and ample parking albeit being shared with other establishments like Mensho. I tried their crab fried rice which was nice and crabby with Thai spice levels. However it was completely missing the wok hei that makes fried rice so addictive and the amount of crab was on the low side. From a spice perspective their medium spicy is typically close to my max. Prices have gone up here which was a disappointment but beats having to to trying to park at the downtown phoenix location. My favorite was an appetizer special that had beef and kind of tasted like larb. All the flavors complemented eachother well and the beef was cooked perfect! The Thai Fried Rice was the star of the show - great flavor and cooked perfect! The Crispy Pork Belly was a bit dry for our liking but had really good flavor overall. It was nice sitting in a restaurant where we did not feel rushed. Went here last weekend for dinner with my husband. Atmosphere is fun and eclectic. They have a good outdoor patio with heaters, but we sat inside. Service is slow. We were early for our reservation and got an odd response when we arrived early. Restaurant was mostly empty. Not sure what the issue was. Ordered the Gaeng Panang Nuer. They have five levels of spice on their menu and I asked for the second level. She gave me an inquisitive look and said medium? I said yes? It was quite hot for a medium level. Next time I will order mild spice. Spent most of my meal sweating and my nose running which makes it hard for me to enjoy my food. The panang was good, but this wasn't my favorite Thai food. I would go back and try a few more dishes. If the service is slow again, that would be a deterrent for me to go back a third time. It's a close, local spot so it makes it tempting to try it once more. read more

We left this restaurant pretty disappointed after what should have been a nice night out. We had a reservation, showed up on time, and were seated without issue--but that's about where the positive experience ended. Shortly after we sat down, a couple walked in without a reservation and were seated right next to us. Somehow, they ended up receiving far better service than we did. We sat there for an extended period before even getting water, while they already had drinks, appetizers, and eventually their main course. It was honestly frustrating to watch their entire dining experience unfold while we were still waiting just to place a drink order. To make matters worse, our host who initially handled our drink order was very off-putting and came across as rude, almost like she didn't want to be there. It set a negative tone right from the start and didn't help the already slow and inattentive service. The service felt completely disorganized, especially considering we had planned ahead with a reservation. The food--once we finally got it--didn't justify the high prices. For what we paid, we expected a much smoother, more attentive experience. Overall, it felt like our time and reservation didn't matter, and the value just wasn't there.
