Great little sandwich shop using high quality boars head meat. I got the turkey bacon ranch and it reminded me of firehouse subs. Toasted sub that tasted great. Talked to the owner for a while and she was very friendly and personable. Will be back again. Update: been back probably 10 times. It's one of my favorite sandwich shops and if I had more money then I would eat here everyday. read more

Amazing ! After an afternoon of adventures through the Apache Junction Trails. We decided to look for a "local" place to eat. By chance we found the best at the Sandwich Shoppe. Friendly service, clean and their sandwiches... Well; delish! Not only was the bread soft and fluffy "Yummo". I had the Veggie Sub; all ingredients were fresh and crisp. This been written by a Vegan= veggie snob . The price... outstanding; four adults for 32.00 including drinks. Our group also had the NY special and the Italian. Everyone was pleasantly surprise. Just happened to stop in here today because it had good reviews and I was in AJ. Clean and tidy inside, the sandwiches were $7.75 which is about average for the sandwich industry, I shared a chicken bacon avocado and the Swiss hammer and loved them both. Very tasty! We finally tried The Sandwich Shoppe and loved it! It's cute as it can be, the staff is very friendly, and the sandwiches are great! They have a hidden patio which we enjoyed. I would have loved to give it a 4 star rating but they still have some room for improvement. I just ordered water (in a glass) and it was horrible, it tasted like sewer water. I could have gotten iced tea was but the pitcher was very cloudy, maybe it wasn't, but it looked nasty and at $7.50 for a sandwich with no sides I couldn't see adding a couple more dollars to it for a drink. So, the drinks are lacking and the price is a bit high but we will go back to give it another try because it has a LOT of other qualities that we loved! read more

So i went to this place first today, i checked out their website and the hours said open Saturday 10-4pm. I called to confirm and they said they closed at 4pm. So i planned my dinner around that...... i get there at 3:19 and an employee "i think it was the owner" is coming out and i say "hello" and they said "hi" with a fuckin attitude. I go in and wait about 2-3 minutes and i get told by an employee be hind the counter and says "sorry were closed" im like u close at 4, "sorry but my boss decided to close early" wtf, who does that..... Not really sure about this one. Walked in around 2:30pm and got ignored by the lady behind the counter. There was a young man stocking chips who greeted me when he noticed that I was looking a bit unsure. That kept me from walking out. (Worth a star to me) There was an elderly man possibly ordering but he was behind the counter in the prep area/payment area? They have some cute wood tables and chairs outside but it is confusing inside. Most of the counter is blocked off in the dining area. A sign saying order here and pay here are at the corner of the countertop. I had previously reviewed their menu online so I knew what I wanted to try. When the lady took my order took my order I said I thought I'd like to try their Ham sandwich with pineapple. (Secretly hoping she'd suggest a favorite) I chose sourdough bread. She told me it comes with Swiss cheese and is toasted. I shrugged and said that was fine. (Thinking in my mind of a ham and pineapple pizza... yes different cheese). After paying she told me it would be a bit. I chose to wait outside and cleaned some trash from the front seat of my car and read a few pages in a book. The traffic is very loud and not really conducive to outdoor dining but given all the restrictions with CoVid I'm glad they offered that option. Kindly the lady brought me my sandwich outside and thanked me with a smile. Now to the sandwich. The size was great and the amount of meat was substantial. But it was dripping with a warm, sweet mayonnaise. (All pleasant anticipation of flavors gone from my mind and mouth.) For 9 bucks I was expecting more! How about any kind mustard or special sauce that compliments the flavors? What about any lettuce, tomato, other veggies? A premium price should get you more than warm sweet Mayo dripping from your sandwich! Honestly they have a good product but without any extras or awesome service I won't return. A zippy grainy mustard and some pickles really would make this sandwich standout. Maybe even just some mild pepperoncinis? No pics as there was only the posted sandwich names on the peg board, and I ate in the car. read more

My daughter ordered the bacon chicken avocado sandwich and I ordered the tuna on whole wheat toasted. Both sandwiches tasted excellent. The owner was so friendly making sure everything was tasty. When I was having some work done on my pickup, I happened to notice this little Sandwich Shoppe next door, so although I didn't have time at the moment, I picked up a menu and looked around. It's a small shop, but they keep it simple, and clean. Today we (wife and I) decided to try it out, and phoned in an order. The sandwiches were ready when I walked in the door, and the young lady couldn't have been more friendly. We were impressed when we unwrapped the sandwiches, they were nicely toasted, and loaded with every thing you would expect. Lots of meat, cheese, and lots of fresh toppings. These were very tasty sandwiches! We will definitely be going back again! Highly recommended! read more

This is a cute little place that's very clean. The sandwiches are good but a little overpriced, around $7.25 for sandwich and another $2.50 for side and drink. We got the chicken salad that came on a croissant. There was a lot of employees in my opinion for such a small place, about 4 and two were kinda standing around staring at us when we were ordering... Kinda awkward. Would probably come back if on the area and try another sandwich, wouldn't go out of my way though. read more

This was a great little find! I was thrilled to find a good sandwich shop that offers quality Boar's Head meats. And the best part is they have a choice of gluten free bread to make the sandwich! Ate here for the first time a couple weeks ago with my kids. These are amazing sandwiches. The meat is the super thin sliced but piled high kinda meat. They offer a ton of different bread types and we all LOVED our sandwiches. So stinkin good. The location is crappy and looks like a whole in the wall - but don't let that scare you or you'll miss out on the best sandwich you never had. read more

Penny and Gary have visited several times. Tried different sandwiches each time. Must say that the sandwich is superior to any other ones around. The bread and meat is always fresh and flavorable. My favorite is the NY club, but with thousand island dressing instead of mayo. Next one will be the meatball with a hint of hot pepper juice on top of the meat. Due to inflation, the price is up a little bit in cost per sandwich, but still a great deal. Service is outstanding as your sandwich is hand made as you wait. Made a second trip here and just as pleased as last time. Good and fairly straightforward food. Not that different from what Mom made - assuming mom made good everyday food. And, you can pretty much have your sandwich anyway you like it. Atmosphere reflects the straightforward nature of the food. Seems to be a mom and pop shop, Clean and pleasant with a Friendly staff. Five stars because what they do is fairly simple, but they do it well. read more
