Wow, what a hidden gem!! Didn't really know of this place until we were in the area running errands. Stopped in for lunch, and a beer. Super awesome service, and outstanding food!! we really loved the beets, and Brussel sprouts. Ribs were perfectly seasoned, smoked, and served!! Upon entering the establishment, the service was excellent--warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The beer was cold, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the quality of the service.I ordered the stuffed green pepper chicken dish. The cheese on top was cold and coagulated, and the chicken inside was dry and lacked flavor. The sweet potato was the highlight of my plate. One of my guests had a burger and thought it tasted great, though it wasn't cooked to the temperature she requested. My other guest ordered shrimp skewers and mashed potatoes; the shrimp was well-prepared, but the mashed potatoes were served cold and cut into cubes, which was unexpected.For a bill over $100, the food fell short of expectations. Came back for a second time as I promised. I wasn't sure what I wanted, leaning towards the green chili brats. Then the chicken salad sandwich stood out from the menu. I am very happy I changed my mind. The chicken salad sandwich comes on a crossiant with two healthy slices of tomatoes and lettuce on the side. The chicken salad consists of roasted chicken, walnuts, dried cranberries and celery. This sandwich was great, it was so good. I ordered one more to take home for mama. My wife and I had a 2pm lunch at Handlebars... our first visit to the Pub and Grill. We were greeted by smiling bubbly Megan and she provided us with a enthusiastic welcome. The Beer Selection is robust along with domestics, wine and soda. We sampled the cheese burgers and thought they were the best we have had in forever. Grilled out back by a great BBQ Chef, sorry, we didnt get his name. -THANKS! Awesome Meal and we will definatley be back often. Absolutely great experience at the handlebar. Their burgers are fantastic, lots of meat and cooked perfectly. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it, I was too hungry (from hiking). Our waitress was super nice and had no issues with letting us sample from their amazing beer selection. Outdoor space is covered so you aren't too hot from the sun but also getting nice air flow. The appetizers were all excellent too. Thanks for everything! We will go back for sure before we travel home. read more

Perfect outdoor setting! Great service by April. Ordered beer and nachos. Never before seen excellent selection of gluten-free beers. Ginormous plate of good nachos. Only negatives: Ordered extra salsa that was inedible unfortunately. Perhaps forgot salt? And beer glasses room temperature. I had Handlebars catered the event and everyone raved about the food. Rudy entertained us and April catered to everyone's beverage needs. As always, service and food was spectacular. Thanks for doing it on the hush hush. He was very surprised. All had a great time. So many first timers told us we found a hidden treasure in Apache Junction. We couldn't agree more. Spent a Friday evening here with my family. We were looking for something different than all the spots we usually go to. There are two sides. There's a bar side and an outdoor side that has live music. We sat in the bar side as it was the quickest available. Our server was so sweet and attentive. She chatted with everyone at the table. Made sure the kids had everything they needed. We ordered. The food came in a good amount of time. It was delicious. I ordered a mushroom Swiss, my wife got the ribs. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their food. There were zero issues, service was amazing, and the food was tasty. We will be going back for sure. As we were leaving we saw the band playing outside in the patio areas. They were great and it wasn't too loud. You could still talk over the music. Highly recommend this place. read more

Recently some friends said let's go to Handlebars for lunch. I reached out to the restaurant to see if there were any low carb options. The owner responded within hours with a list of options. So our group of 11 had lunch yesterday and I was impressed. Great service, large menu, a really good beer selection, and more. Ended up having the pulled port stuffed pepper and a side of grilled zucchini. Excellent across the board. I will be back. We had a couple drinks and, nachos, mushroom burger, chili burger, and a chicken sandwich. The sides were absolutely wonderful- if you like brisket sprouts you HAVE to try the ones here! Everyone was super kind and helpful. Now, don't come here in a rush good food takes time to prepare. I enjoy lunch with my friends on the patio often. Handlebar makes wonderful real delicious food! My friend was able to bring her dog to the patio too and he was such a big hit with all the ladies (fluffy and friendly). This is a great place to enjoy an afternoon. Arrived yesterday to a partially filled restaurant after the Kentucky Derby party. My 10th wedding anniversary- We just wanted a nice table to listen to the band and have a couple of drinks and dinner. We were "dressed to impress". Snow bird couple ahead of us in shorts and t-shirts given a prime outdoor table- we were given a fire pit "table" right next to the bar- not exactly romantic or conducive to eating a meal. So we left, went to the Hub in Mesa and dropped $100. As locals, we try to give AJ some business but each restaurant will learn a lesson- if you don't treat us kindly we take our business elsewhere. Guess you'll wait until the temps drop again to keep customers. Sad that we had a good experience there years ago but you couldn't accommodate locals looking for a date night location. Party of 3 and first time here. I have never in my life had a pins colada on the rocks but I will always ask for it this way now. Also the food was yummy. Blue cheese potato salad was one of the best potato salads I have ever had from a restaurant. Stuffed Casilla pepper was amazing. The Thursday night special was the stuffed tomato potato with brisket, so delicious. The service was great and the live music even better. Will be back. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful. The ambiance during the day is amazing. I bet at night it's spectacular with all of its different lighting!! The food is delicious and very well prepared and surprisingly reasonably priced! They have a lot of smoked meets on the menu too! The same staff has been here for years and I can see why. They all love the place and are all like family! This is definitely somewhere to bring your out-of-towners or visitors! Or even come for for lunch or dinner, you won't feel alone! They even serve alcohol (but not liquor ) Their variety of different beers and wines is huge. You gotta come on Wine Wednesday where they give away bottles of wine from $10-$17!!! The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they are closed on Sunday and Monday. I could go on and on but you pretty much get the gist of how great this place is!!! (Sorry I didn't take any pics of the food, I wish I did but I was too busy admiring the whole place. I'll get pics of the food next time. I'll definitely be going back soon!) read more
