One of the best meals we have ever eaten. We let our waitress, Megan, lead the way with food recs and wine pairings. So great.

Service was 5 stars! Service went above and beyond. Food was 3 stars! Everything was covered in oil. I feel like I consumed more oil in the one meal than I have this entire month. read more

A dream of a restaurant. Wonderful service, exquisite food and drink, absolutely brilliant happy hour. Stop reading and go already

Went here on a business lunch, great place, cool italian vibe. The tables are way to small though. The food is nice. Had the italian seafood spagatti special. it was very nice and flavorful. The wait staff was very attentive and overall it was a great experience. The location is perfect right off the airport train line. Will go again. read more

Fantastic helpful hosts and bartenders! On point service. I love watching the pasta being made! All types and colors. I couldn't help but spend over 100$ alone during happy hour! Fun people and good conversations all around. I love how the host comes to you at the door I also like the location. Watching the trains come in and out it fun. Thanks! read more

I want to like this place more than I actually do. It's the portions. Absurdly small. For example, we got the cappellaci: there were five little pieces! And for the price, you expect something approaching a meal, not a happy hour appetizer. The portions are mini. Also, I have to say that this is the only place where I've had steak that, when they ask you how you want your steak prepared, can only cook to three temperatures. Medium-push is out of scope, I guess. But...the ambiance is nice, the cocktails are good, the service is lovely and you can see that they pride themselves on their hospitality. Just don't go hungry whatsoever because you'll stay hungry. read more

We've been there twice. First time was ok, although they overdressed the carpaccio. 2nd time was also ok, until our steak, which we ordered medium rare, came back nearly well done.... twice. The first time we sent it back, 3 people came by to apologize, which was very thoughtful. The second time, steak came back exactly the same way, only our waitress came by to ask how it was and apologize once we showed her it was again over cooked. We eat steak all the time, we know the difference between med rare and well done, and we almost never send food back because we hate making a stink. But this was pretty sloppy. They did comp the unfinished steak, which I suppose was the base level of what you'd expect at a decent restaurant. However a far cry from the distinctive service you get from frasca. read more

I would highly recommend reservations because this place is always packed. Last minute reservations are also not the easiest to come by so plan accordingly. Phenomenal food and drink. I loved the Late for the Train cocktail. I think Tavernetta is suited best for ordering a number of dishes for the table and sharing. In my opinion, the portion sizes are not that large. If you want to really get a taste for the menu, sharing is probably the best option! Burrata and Carpaccio to start were wonderful. As far as entrees, we had the Tagliatelle, their Special for the evening and a Mushroom pasta. The mushroom pasta was by far the best, but was so rich I wouldn't have been able to eat the entire dish even with the smaller portion size. I wish we would have ordered the Cacciucco as other parties around us did and it looked delicious! I will definitely be back! read more

I would give this place six stars if I could. It's one of the absolute best dining experiences in the greater Denver area. The staff is fantastic, very personable and friendly while maintaining high standards of service. We had the wagu bresola, parmasean cheese, chicory salad with truffle vinaigrette (was out of this world), gnocchi, winter squash ravioli (would eat again and again), New York strip, tiramisu, and the pistachio cake. The food is creative while being approachable and familiar/comforting. If I had one criticism it would be that the prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is absolutely worth the price. read more

We had lunch here on New Years Eve a few days ago. It wasn't crowded and had our coats checked and seated promptly. We had scoped out the menu ahead of time so we pretty much knew what we wanted. We started with the prosciutto, burrata and salmon/dill salad. We also had some of their homemade bread and oil for the table. The burrata with the sun-dried tomato pesto was a sure winner, especially with their homemade bread. One of the waiters (we had a whole team of waiters) mentioned they tried 60 different recipes for the bread before they settled on this version. The whole team was friendly and offered great recs on the menu. Our entries included the tuna steak and lamb ragu gnocchi. I loved the gnocchi. It was comforting, filling and like pillows of goodness melting in my mouth. We passed on dessert but the pistachio cake sounded great. We will be back for dinner! Hint: valet park at Hotel Born and the restaurant will validate it for $10 read more

It is rare to have a meal that is excellent in all regards but this one did tonight! The Gnocchi was very good but the mushroom pasta (Garganelli) was fantastic! For dessert, the Tiramisu did not disappoint and the large portions of both the sorbet and gelato were also very good. Even the espresso was spot on. Amazingly the service was excellent all the way through the meal! We will definitely be back next time we are in Denver. read more

Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. Service is impeccable and wine list is comprehensive. I've enjoyed dining there. Thought their mushroom pasta was really good particularly. read more

Family wanted good pasta. We went there dressed extremely casually after daughter's softball practice only to find that everyone there was business causal and better. It is a classy place. Although we looked like Walmart customers from outer hickville, the staff was extremely welcoming to us and treated us like we were valued guests. Manager Ben visited us twice and spent time making us feel like friends. Our server was Curran who made extraordinary efforts to make sure that we got what we wanted and also went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He spent time chatting us up and came across as totally real and sincere. Curran got my 14-year old an off-menu plate of pasta with red sauce that a finicky teenager absolutely devoured. She knows what pasta al dente is, and she knows what fresh pasta is and she could not find anything to complain about. The menu is designed to take you step by step through a Northern Italian meal. I skipped the crudo (probably a mistake) and got a pasta (frazzoletti) and the polenta (with spring vegetables). The dishes were flawless. F'ing flawless. Marvelous. Wifey got buratta with a side of salumi preceded by the insalada mista. She wants to go back tomorrow. Summary: the food preparation and presentation was of highest quality, but the most impressive thing was how wonderfully they treated us. Thank you Curran and Ben. read more

My boyfriend took me here for an anniversary and it was VERY nice! We're new to the area so going off of friends WOM recommendations. We're usually very low key but for a nice occasion this was great! Enjoyed the pesto burrata, 2 different pastas, and a nice bottle of red wine! read more

The service alone was impeccable. And that's including EVERYONE that was working that night! Never felt so welcomed at a restaurant. I cam here for dinner one night during the week with a group and we tried nearly everything on the menu. My absolute favorite dish from that night: the GNOCCHI! Super delicious. The Robiola E frutta and Burrata Con Pesto Trapanese were AMAZINGGGGG along with their freshly baked bread! I absolutely recommend Tavernetta- it's a must-visit and a perfect spot for a special dinner. read more

Amazing and classy restaurant- very respectable staff. The food was amazing and beautifully prepared

Great service, delicious menu, informative staff. Don't come expecting the usual spaghetti, ravioli offerings, and not a place I'd recommend for large groups or families. Incredible nonetheless. While working at the Colorado Convention Center, I had a serious craving only Italian food could fix. The 16th Street bus speed by numerous options, nothing seemed to really nail what I was looking for. A quick search from my hotel room at Union Station and Tavernetta popped up - close, convenient, and we'll rated. So I thought, why not. With its comfortable, quaint seating, I perused the small menu for a while before deciding on a few small meats and cheeses, then diving right into the Rigatoni and Gnocchi. Nothing disappointed. In fact, I'm not even a lamb lover; however, I'm now a lamb ragout fiend. Stop by and enjoy Tavernetta's food, you won't be disappointed. read more

I feel sad writing a negative review during Covid of a restaurant but yesterday's take out experience was also sad. It was my birthday so we decided to splurge on good food, and drove all the way downtown to pick it up. When we got home and I went to plate the food I saw in the bag, 3 of the tinniest cardboard containers (about half the size of a regular boxed containers at take out)... and when I opened them, the 3 pasta dishes I ordered (2 of them 18$ and 1 was 30$) were half full. There was literally a few fork fulls. This 75$ meal (tax and tip) meant to feed 3 people fed 1. I ended up having to cook more dinner on my own birthday for my 2 hungry guests and I just made do :/. Sad. read more

Tavernetta - Half filled 3 pastas in the already tiny containers. They couldn't even fill them??? - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

You must make a reservation for this restaurant right now. Seriously. Come back and read the rest of this review after you make the reservation. This restaurant is fantastic. I haven't had Italian like this since I went to Italy. It's a wonderful atmosphere and the variety of seasonal tastes is incredibly well done. We sampled many of the dishes on the menu, pleasantly surprised by each one. Enjoy! read more

From the minute we walked in (without a reservation) that staff was amazing. Our waiter, Tony (from WI) was great and recommended excellent choices. The pasta might be the best we have ever had! read more

Dined last weekend for the first time. The food overall was very good. We had 1 pasta dish that was slightly underdone and not hot. Regarding the service, I was surprised as many reviews mentioned fantastic service. Ours was a little lacking. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. In addition, I found it strange that 3/4 times during the meal, our empty dishes were left on our table for a long time, even though other servers and management walked by. Not the worst thing, but not "fantastic." read more

HOLY FLUFFY GNOCCHI PILLOWS FALLEN FROM HEAVEN swimming in deep rich lamb ragu that I was too embarrassed to lick from the plate...no matter the crusty bread worked just fine to mop up the luscious sauce. The food here is second to none! The dining experience like none I've yet had in Dever...and I eat out A LOT! The staff is like an army of hospitality attending to each and every need but never awkward, just 100% classy! I would come back just for the service...it was that good. Thank you for a lovely lunch! I can hardly wait to come back for dinner! My only tiny beef is the dining room could be a bit more comfortable and cozy. I would say the lounge area would be my go-to spot next time. read more

Truly made my wife's birthday an amazing experience. The focaccia, burrata, beef carpaccio, lobster pasta, tiramisu and champagne were all first in class. Couple that with 5 star service and you have one of the best restaurants in Denver. read more

The staff was rude. They really enjoyed talking to each other and talking bad about us. We were the youngest people in the restaurant (sorry we work hard?) and got cut off after one drink when 60 year olds next to us were blacked out trying to drink 5 glasses of wine. Food was average. Will for sure stick to quality Italian from now on, much better service and food. As someone who has dined all over Denver and the country, this place is less than average. Get a better staff. Your som was the absolute worst too, fire him. read more

Hands down, the best Italian in Denver. The staff are amazing, the food divine, and the cantaloupe sorbet will change your life.

Not surprisingly- very pricey. My only complaint. Service was excellent. Food delicious. Wine delicious albeit nothing under 15/glass and some over $30 per glass. Great once but I'll go to equally great locally owned Italian restaurants with a lower price tag (Spuntino for example) read more

Came for dinner based on recommendations from family in the area. Definitely not impressed except for the service and the audacity of their pricing. The only menu items spot on were the cocktails. We started with the Fritto Miso, Piatti and an off menu appetizer. The Fritto was very overcooked. The calamari was quite chewy. 2 whole prawns-wow. The piatti was nice but it's basically pickled cauliflower, a few olives and some almonds. The off menu appetizer was tuna sashimi-pretty tough really. We (thankfully) only had 1 course for dinner. We had the swordfish which was overcooked (again) and pretty bland. We had the Tagliatelle. We couldn't taste the lobster which is supposed to be the star of the dish. The ragu was the one hit (1 out of 4). Overall felt very pretentious. Hate it when I sign that bill and feel like I've been cheated. I would not recommend. Overall mediocre Italian with over the top pricing. read more

Probably known as the new hot spot in Denver, located adjacent to Union station. Wine list can be overwhelming but they have sommeliers available to make recommendations.small plates are made to share but dinner for two is totally doable to share 3-4 plates and get a glimpse of the food read more

Boy do I want to give Bobby and his team five stars for this incredible restaurant but the one star that is missing the mark is the server that my colleagues and I had. If it weren't for the incredible food and our back server (Hannah), I would probably not be going back anytime soon. Hannah was helping make suggestions and was all over our table when we needed something. Our back server was more friendly than our actual server. He seemed very distracted and not at all interested in our party of four (spent well over $500 and with a tip of over $100) what more was he looking for? And to top it off...one of my biggest pet peeves in any fine dining restaurant, he took the signed bill off of our table as soon as my friend paid. Like seriously!? You don't do that! One of the most rude things a server could do. Obviously he was in a rush and made it clear to us that he was ready to go even though the restaurant was open for another 30 minutes. I can't say enough good things about the food, cocktails and wine but our night would have been better if we had a different server. I honestly cannot believe that this incredible establishment would employ someone of his nature. Too bad. read more

Service was spectacular especially during these times. The rotisserie chicken was awesome. Everything was good. Super impressed by a restaurant at a train station!!! read more

Delicious! More casual than Frasca in Boulder but still up-scale with amazing food and service.

How do I summarize this? Surprising? I rarely rave about Italian food in the US as it is so different than what you experience in Italy. This place was a refreshing surprise. Burrata? As good as any I have had. Bread? Straight up European. Gnocchi? The best I have had anywhere (with lamb ragout.) Pappardelle with duck? - sweet. Pair It with great bartenders that matched our wine. I'll be back. read more

This place was incredible. The entire time we were there we had really great service. Our server, Henry, gave us good recommendations through out our dinner from wine pairings to entrees to order. The food was even better than the service. I'd recommend this to anybody who is looking for a nice dinner in Denver read more

We could only get a 5pm reservation a few days in advance (book early) but it was perfect for us as not-so-night owls. This place is wonderful! The ambiance is romantic and chic, the open kitchen is exciting, the food is on par with our experiences in Italy but the service is what makes this place special. Our server Jim made us feel like we were his only table. He took care of a few important dietary restrictions (pregnancy requirements) and made sure we always had everything we needed. Ben, the GM, has to be the friendliest and most involved manager I think I've ever seen. He was such a joy to talk to! What an experience. No matter what you order it will be great and you will feel like family. We will be back!! read more

Tavernetta - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Expensive and disappointing. Our food was overpriced and inedible. We left hungry and had to find food elsewhere after spending nearly $50. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

So glad we went here for my birthday! Excellent ambiance. I'd try for a group table next time where you can watch the kitchen. Service was attentive, not overbearing. The only downside was that the artichoke special, while delicious, was difficult to eat. The agnolettti with beef, pork, chestnuts and mushrooms was outstanding. The gnocchi were also outstanding, truly soft and pillowy. The dessert, pistochio cake, was a bit overwhelmed by the lemon sauce, but overall, delicious. We'll be back! read more

My husband and I made a last minute reservation at Tavernetta for our anniversary. We'd been planning to just eat in the lounge when we couldn't get a reservation (they are booked on weekend evenings like a month out!), but I checked a few hours before and something had opened up, so I recommend trying this if you also have trouble getting a reservation. We started with the eggplant dish. I know they're working on a summer menu so this dish may disappear soon, but I'll give an overview anyhow. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this one. It needs to come with an instructions sheet. Even though our server sort of described it when I told her I was debating between it and a couple other options, when it landed on the table we were baffled. You can't eat the leaves, right, they are hard. But there was so little artichoke heart and so much sauce. My husband (in a classic good-husband move), seeing my disappointment, did not lose heart and figured it out (you dunk the leaves in the sauce and the suck the sauce and bit of heart off of the ends, then discard), but it didn't really start the meal off well. I think there's a boundary line between something that looks nuts simply because it's plated artistically, versus a dish with components that aren't even edible. The latter requires clearer instructions for consumption. The other dishes we ordered were the tortelloni and the lobster pasta, both of which were incredible. The focaccia they bring is the best focaccia I've ever, ever had; it was amazing. For dessert, we ordered the pistachio cake and the panna cotta (hey, don't judge, special occasion); of these two, the panna cotta stole the show. The ambiance and service were wonderful, everything you'd expect at the price point. Made for a very special dinner. read more
