I'm going to be brief: Tavernetta exceeded my sky high expectations. The salads were extraordinary, the bread superb. I've always wanted to experience perfect branzino. I just did. Desserts, melt in your mouth wonderful. The service was flawless. Thank you Tavernetta. read more

Amazing service. Delicious food. Our server Ashley ensured that we enjoyed our meal and offered some great recommendations. We started with the burrata, which had a thin skin and delicious herbaceous flavors with some acidity. For dinner, we had the lamb ragu, lobster pasta, and lamb leg steak. The lamb leg steak melted in my mouth and wasn't as gamy as a lot of lamb. It paired nicely with the Chianti. The lobster pasta had a bit too much celery flavor for the person who ordered it, but it was still delicious. We finished with the tiramisu, which was a bit non-traditional. It didn't have the dense layers of ladyfingers and booze bath. Regardless, the light salt, chocolate crisp, and silky cream tasted delicious. read more

Absolutely phenomenal experience. It was happy hour and my family arrived without a reservation. It was busy and I asked the group ahead of me how long a wait they were told - 30-40mins. So we decided we would leave as we were with our kids and had tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet. One of the staff literally came outside as we were heading out, asked if he could help us, and when we told him what we were doing he said he would squeeze us in. Turns out he needed the table for a group that would show up around the same time we needed to leave for our show. We've eaten out a ton and I've never seen that before from a busy restaurant. It was a precursor of things to come as the service for the balance of the meal was impeccable and the food itself was some of the best Italian food we've ever had (incl Spago and other celebrated / well known Italian spots). We don't live in Colorado and I'm literally going to have dreams about when we can make it back. Can't recommend it more highly and would give it 6 or 7 stars if I could. read more

We were excited to try this place out..seeing all these great reviews. Unfortunately our pasta was undercooked..we left a little disappointed. The ambiance and service was great though! read more

An absolute must try if you are in Denver!! Tavernetta does not disappoint. I have been here on two separate occasions and have been blown away both times. The wine list is incredible, the food is delicious, and the staff is friendly! The beef carpaccio is delicious and some of the best I've ever had in Denver, I would highly suggest this dish to any carpaccio fan. All of the pastas I've tried have been incredible. The Gnocchi and the Cappellacci Di Zucca were both my favorite dishes, I would recommend those for anyone looking for a pasta dish. While the portions seem small they are rather large for the flavors and the perfect size for anyone to split! I have also been here for Happy Hour and the deals are so great that you'll want to order one of everything! I highly recommend Tavernetta to anyone who is looking for some amazing Italian food in or around Denver. Bravo Tavernetta, Bravo! read more

So, so good. Cocktails were perfect (and we own a cocktail lounge so we are pretty picky,) happy hour food was delicious, we ordered 3 rounds of the potato chips and had to make ourselves stop! read more

We had a great dinner at this restaurant. The decor is beautiful and simple, very clean and warm feeling. We had a lot of shared dishes to start including carpaccio, a sunchoke dish, Maine scallops with caviar (it was a special), and Frito Misto. I was with three other people and each one of us loved everything. I was very impressed with the service in general, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. In between the food that is served they change your plates and cutlery. Oh and the bread is made in house and so good! All the pasta is made in the restaurant as well and every pasta dish we ordered was delicious. Definitely going back! read more

We went to celebrate a birthday (noted in the reservation) at Tavernetta an "award" winning restaurant. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Reservations for lunch require a deposit, in our case $60 for 6 people. Okay. The reservation communications (text/exmail) were pretty rigid and the parking instructions were not clear. However, on the phone and when in the restaurant the staff was cordial. The restaurant itself was clean and well appointed. We ordered the lunch specials, while the food was good- especialy the salads and soup, it wasn't amazing. And man are they stingy with the bread. When two of our party asked for another slice of bread, only one received it. He had assumed that our whole party would be served or at least asked - nah. It was weird. While, it was nice to have the half pour for the "curration" i.e. wine currated to the course, it just wasn't enough. Our server could have been much more informative and asked us if we wanted more..maybe? And when asked for some marinara sauce it seemed to be a problem with our server, until I told him Iha d called ahead regarding our vegetarian party members. It was an interesting experience for such an acclaimed restaurant. It is unlikely we will return. read more

Excellent. Everything from the glassware to the table salt had been hand curated and carefully so. The restaurant itself is architectural eye candy. The wine list is extensive and wines that one can order by the glass are surprising (Brunello?!!!) The cuisine is likely the best example of authentic modern Italian cooking in Denver. Everything on the menu is delicious and I've now tried everything. Bravo Tavernetta! read more

I had my 2nd experience at Tavernetta this afternoon with a very special buddy and it impressed us both. We went for Happy Hour and got to try so many of their small plates along with great wine and drinks. From the appetizers to the desserts, the service from Jill and the rest of the team was exceptional. The atmosphere in the bar area is perfectly casual, but so stylishly upscale. My 1st visit was in January with another buddy from Dallas. We sat at the bar and had a very impressive lunch experience with Jack. His suggestions for our 1st time there were perfect. I am looking forward to my next meal there so I can try the gnocchi with lamb ragu. Thanks for keeping it consistent in impressing me and my friends. Jeff in Denver read more

Food is excellent for the money. Definitely you get what you pay for. I had the gnocchi and Manzo for lunch and it was very delicious. The ambiance was nice and the service was on par. Great option for a lunch spot. Can't wait to try for dinner. The menu is simple and not overwhelming. Something for everyone. Lastly the complimentary bread is really outstanding with great texture, flavor, and combined with the olive oil was really great. Definitely a new downtown favorite of mine. read more

Pros: - Good prosciutto - Good pasta - Nicely designed. Cool open kitchen. Cons: - Horrible service. Dishes were not explained. Waitress bumped my arm with a fork while taking it away, and stained my shirt with pesto - Somm was clueless. Unfriendly, and took 5 minutes to silently read the menu behind us after we described what we wanted. - Had high hopes for the pork shoulder. It was disgusting, bland, and under-seasoned. We were not expecting a fried, breaded dish. Spinach on the side was flavorless. read more

What can I say this place exceeded my expectations and believe me they were high. Service was impeccable, they all showed a great display of team work. Food was outstanding and the open concept kitchen only showed you the great talent behind it. I recommend per couple doing one meat and one cheese, a pasta and sharing an entree and dessert. PS Excellent wine list great wines for a great price, you can tell the owner is a master sommelier and he hired only the best. The management was superb, the owner Bobby Stuckey gave each table a little of his time and after meeting him and dining at his establishment you can tell he is passionate about what he does, he is extremely kind and humble. The general manager Justin was calm and personable, he ran his staff with confidence and grace. You can tell the staff felt honored to be part of something great. I recommend this place to everyone they care so much about each one of their guest and employees. It is absolute perfection.....Bravo!!! read more

It seems crazy to fall in love with a meal ... fortunately I can safely say I fell in love tonight with an experience. The reservation process was flawless. Set a great tone. We were so warmly greeted we felt like royalty. And just when things couldn't start any better, Bobby Stuckey sat us at our perfect, quaint table. Every bite, every morsel, everything that came to our table was absolute perfection. The wine list was so thoughtful, the cocktails magical and incredibly crafted. The food cooked, seasoned, designed to absolute greatness. It's fine dining without having to feel pretentious. Warm, welcoming, the meal you'd dream of if you had your culinary priorities straight. I feel blessed to live in a city embracing such a great spot ... Tavernetta, you are truly remarkable! Thank you for allowing me to be your guest this evening and many evenings to come. read more

My wife and I flew in from NJ to celebrate my birthday with our daughters who live in Denver and Boulder. Using all the research tools to find a great restaurant from Yelp to Zagat to local reviews I chose Tavernetta. Every aspect of our experience was 5 stars from the moment we walked in. One of our challenges in dining for us is 2 of our family members are gluten free and dairy free, one is dairy free. I'd called ahead and discussed this and they were incredibly helpful. Our waiter Nick recommendations were outstanding and the chef created individual dinners to accommodate each of our dietary needs. From homemade breads, yes homemade gf too, to amazing appetizers and the most delicious Oso Buco I have ever had the food at Tavernetta was outstanding. I strongly recommend checking out their wine list online before you go, it's massive, and then having one of their sommeliers suggest for your pairings. We enjoyed an amazing Barolo! Thanks to the entire team at Tavernetta for making our family celebration so wonderful! read more

Wonderful in all ways! It's a pretty space- smart and welcoming while not stealing attention away from the food. The staff is so professional- not simply precise and sharp but so warm and friendly. We met Justin the GM and he's a gem! I loved the unusual caprese salad (as in peaches and plums) and the Fritto Misto was excellent. I just thought it was the same dish as in the sexy photo from the website. The dish we got certainly wasn't sexy, even though it was excellent. I didn't love the broth in my Ravioli entree but maybe that was me because I hear it's a crowd pleaser. The pistachio tort dessert was bellissimo. Portion sizes were fair, prices were very reasonable, and in-house made bread was fantastic to boot! Finally my something Smash drink was perfect. I expect that this will be the region's next great restaurant. I felt lucky to be there on the 1 week anniversary and treated so well. I want to return for the food and the service. read more

Every dish. A-MA-ZING!! The food was so delicious. You walk by the kitchen when you come into the restaurant. Everyone welcomes you. My server, Monica, was so attentive, helpful, and funny. She made some GREAT suggestions for both food and wine. I would dine here again and again. If I had a warning for anything, it would be that the restaurant can get pretty loud, especially when there is a large group next to you. Not complaining--more like a heads up. So what did I have? I had the Carciofi--artichoke, crème fraîche, and hazelnuts--the Tortellloni--rabbit leg, English pea, and carrots--and, of course, I had to try the Tiramisu--the best I have ever had. The descriptions do not do justice to the dishes, so check out the pictures. I also snapped a pick of my colleague's dish, Crudi Misti, which was prawn, squid, cod, and lemon fried withlightly-battered tempura. read more

5-stars because the food, atmosphere, execution and professionalism was on point! There is an obvious ethos that pervades the entire staff...quite refreshing. That usually can be credited to great management and dare I say "leadership". Which leads me to Justin the GM -- who went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. I came into the restaurant around 3pm -- excited to eat there, as I had researched the restaurant . They were on a very limited menu. Instead of letting me be disappointed, Justin asked me to wait and slipped back to speak to the chef. He came back and offered me the entrees on the regular menu. Kudos to Justin and the team -- fabulous experience. Off to Frasca -- older sister in Boulder--a great restaurant for sure. Hence my return visit. read more

We had very high expectations for this place and it exceeded them. The kitchen layout was the first thing that wow'd us - it's a very open layout and almost a maze to get from the front to the back. Several independent chef stations separate the stations which is noticeable and a cool touch we haven't seen before. The prices and ambiance outmatched what they charged - another thing that commonly goes unnoticed in finer dining. Can't wait to come back for more read more

We had drinks at the bar which was great fun. The focaccia bread and olives were excellent. Terrific vibe.

Was going to go to Sunday Vinyl but there was a 2 hour wait. Therefore we walked across the street and went to Tavernetta. The service was remarkable and the decor was delightful. Our waitress kept on bringing us bread and it was yummy. We ordered appetizers and was a great way to go. My daughter ordered her 1st legal drink. Her birthday! She ordered Late For The Train. Our waitress recommended it and she liked it. Tavernetta was a great option for a 2 hour wait. read more

What a beautiful restaurant located right off the tracks of Union Station. The inside is gorgeous with an open restaurant with modern decor that makes it feel very upscale. They also have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy as well. The menu here is exceptional, various small plate offerings during HH and to the more full dinner style plates. We ordered the Alici for HH which had a few anchovies, tomato and some olive oil. This small plate was so good, we had to order another one. The anchovies were fresh and melted in your mouth... none of the off putting super fishy aftertaste. The other delicious small plate we ordered was the Pancetta Di Maiale. This dish had pork belly with a fried risotto chip. The pork belly was so juicy and tender.. For the 2 pastas, we went with the Cavatelli and Bucatini Con Le Sarde. The Cavatelli had a little spice to it. The noodles for both pastas were deliciously handmade pasta.. exactly what you'd expect when coming here. The Bucatini Con Le Sarde had a wonderful mix of sweet with the raisins and the fresh sardines with the soft, nutty flavor of the pine nuts... wow. This place deserves a spot on my top 5 restaurants here in Denver, you can't go wrong with anything you order here. The chefs here are no stranger with how to make delicious Italian food. read more

Love the restaurant in its entirety. Beautiful layout, great service, very knowledgeable staff, and amazing food. The gnocchi and carpaccio were amazing. So was the lobster pasta. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and described the dishes to a tee, as well as the wines. Highly recommend. read more

We went to Tavernetta last night for my dad's 90th birthday. My mom called to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance and asked if it would be possible to reserve a table on the patio, since both she and my dad are older and she is immunocompromised. The person she talked to said they'd make a note of the request but that they wouldn't know until the day of if they'd be seating people on the patio. As it turned out, they were not seating people on the patio last night, but because of our request and our COVID concerns, they gave us a private room, which really was above and beyond. On top of that, the service and the food were both outstanding. read more

As a picky forever-a-New-Yorker / pretend Denverite, I almost always hate dining out in Denver because it is so. very. disappointing. Tavernetta is not. The service here is incredible. The decor feels cozy and trendy without being overly so. The food is ON POINT. Even the glassware is ahhhmazing, I Googled it immediately to see if I could buy it for myself (spoiler alert: it's too expensive for me to buy myself). Come here. It's the best. read more

Really good food; great service. Nice ambiance. The burrata app was awesome. The steak was cooked perfectly. Tiramisu was really good.

Simply the best restaurant in Denver. It has the perfect combination of hospitality, food and wine. Bobby, Jodi, and company have done a wonderful job executing the best restaurant opening I've ever seen. The staff worked in perfect concert the entire meal. As far as the food, they've brought unexpected mix of traditional Italian food with some unique twists. Any of the pasta or gnocchi dishes are a must! The wine list, as you would expect is beautifully curated by Carlin Karr. I loved the unique 90% Italian wine list. They'll find you something you will love that you will likely have never had. Go there you won't be disappointed read more

It's more like a 4.5, but I'll round down as it's not a quite a 5 for me. We went on a recommendation from reddit that their lamb gnocci was the poster's favorite meal in Denver. Gnocci (lamb): Like an amazing adult raggu, recommend pair it with a wine to cut through it a bit. Tagliatelle: I wish the lobster was more fresh, but I guess it's acceptable since Denver is landlocked. The noodles were also JUST al-dente, so it was missing the chew I was hoping for (I guess this is preference based). The flavor was on pointe though, which I think is a theme for Tavernetta. Polp (octopus): The octopus had a good chew, the flavor combination was fun, BUT the octopus was over charred and it took away from the dish. Pesce Spada (swordfish): Holy crap, this sword fish was super soft and meaty with great flavor, thought the olives paired nicely (the black squid ink chick peas was not my favorite), but overall this dish was amazing. Crostatina - it's good, esp with an espresso. We want to come back and try their campo difunghi (mushroom flatbread/pizza) as it smelled amazing when the neighboring table ordered it. Also, the service is amazing and can give really good recommendations. We walked in at 5 p.m. on a Monday and didn't have to wait. So to summarize, it was really good - there were just little things about the dishes that could make it even better. read more

Everything we ordered was excellent! Started off with the fresh sliced prosciutto (such perfect, delicious pieces, about 5 of them for $7). We also ordered the burrata with pesto which came with 2 crostinis which were beyond delicious. They also served their house focaccia bread which we used with some of the burrata and a slice of prosciutto. Definitely eat the two together it's like a party in your mouth. We finished off with an artichoke mushroom ravioli which was in the best Parmesan butter sauce I've ever had! Used more of the focaccia bread to eat up every last drop of the sauce. Overall great looking restaurant, delicious food, awesome cocktails, and cool staff. read more
