We ordered vegetarian pastas, it had lot of butter. I won't say it was bad but it wasn't that good also. Portion size was small but because it was heavily buttered, I was full. Same thing with desserts, not good. The cake was dense, too much greasy. The whole experience was not at all worth 150 dollars. The service at the bar was good. I thought, I was going to experience something amazing but I DID NOT. read more

We went to Tavernetta to celebrate my birthday after a long & difficult week visiting a family member in the hospital. We flew in to Denver for a couple of days. Tavernetta was referred to us from a friend, when asked where should we go to celebrate my birthday. My husband booked this night for me a couple of weeks ago. (Btw, the person who took his reservation over the phone sounded bothered and irritated.) Anyhow, it was the first night & restaurant of our trip. First off, our host, server & all assistants were very gracious in the beginning. The server gave us great suggestions for our meal. We enjoyed our fritto misto, and our cocktails. The seafood was hot & fresh! Then we had our main course; my husband had the lamb ragu, and I had the lobster tagliatelle, and both were divine! But after we were served our pasta, we were never checked on again! The server or assistants never asked us how was our food, or did we need another drink which was empty by the way. And the server knew it was my birthday, I at least wanted to order an affogato (one of my favorite treats)! But our server straight ignored us after our pasta was served. Meanwhile, the service was buzzing all around us but left us alone in our corner table. There was a long table filled with white guys that were constantly being checked on and filled up. Ultimately, one of the girls that serve water came up to us and I said "finally, someone is checking on us." She was kind and looked apologetic but it was not her fault at all. We asked for the check and our server came over with the check and a grimace on his face, saying "sorry, here you go." Knowing he ignored us for most of the night. But we still left a generous tip. We are foodies that came from the Washington DC area, but currently reside outside of San Diego. We love to travel to Europe and big cities across the US. We are big on service, and of course well made food. BUT bad service can turn you off of good food. And we were one of the only non white people in the room. (Other than a table of Asians next to us, and a mixed group of black & white in the front). It was my 48th birthday and I did feel invisible. (My husband is black, I'm half Asian & half black.) Unfortunately, a lot of Italian restaurants do not give good service to non white people, and that needs to change. I don't know why there's this underlying issue. Maybe they think we're not good tippers, so we don't really matter to them. I did not think Tavernetta would fit into that stereo type. We have always been generous tippers and we know good service; especially hailing from one of the best dining scenes in the country- Washington DC that is. ;-) But we are willing to give Tavernetta another try, bc we enjoyed the food and maybe we'll get better service the next time. read more

Service is excellent. Ambiance is great. Food was underwhelming. Frankly, I was expecting more interesting flavors from this restaurant. I would rate the food as 6 out of 10. Not good given the price point. read more

The food is only surpassed by the service! I had the filet, and it was outstanding. As it was our anniversary, they also provided a gratis appetizer. The wine was also outstanding. Go and enjoy! read more

After hearing so many great things about this place, I had to check it out for myself. As you walk you immediately see an open concept kitchen, which makes your mind think "fresh/homemade". Once the host showed us our table we were a bit thrown off.. for the reputation of quality of food, the ambience was minimum at best. Let's just paint the picture by saying our table was secured together with a Home Depot clamp. We were very thrown off due to the fact that We were wearing heels and a dresses, I felt I needed to run home to change into jeans and a T-shirt before entering. Now let's talk about the food- oh, my, gosh. The appetizers; ORDER ALL OF THEM. Seriously. Our main courses were that of a typical home made Italian joint, but the apps were out of this world. read more

Fantastic. Food was great. Drinks were well crafted. All staff seemed to really care about our experience. Would highly recommend

YUM, YUM & YUM! We planned to get their early because previous reviews had stated that this place could get busy. Not only that, they don't take reservations for small parties. When we got there, there was a 25-35 minute wait for a table and we had other plans later, so we ended sitting at the bar. There was a wait but people were leaving quickly. The guys at the bar were absolutely friendly. What I have noticed at other restaurants is that bartenders can get really possessive over who their people are. But everyone was willing to help and always checked in. I believe there were 5 guys behind the bar. One bartender walked us through the menu and explained what everything was. He even made some recommendations and also told us some of his favorites. Neither of us had been here before so we took his recommendations. It was happy hour so we started with the prosciutto and it was delicious. Perfectly sliced. And we also had bread to start. We then moved on to the Gnocchi and the Rigatoni. Both were absolutely fantastic. To finish off, we split the Manzo which was a steak but I wanted it over fingerling potatoes. They were very accommodating of my substitutions. Overall, I had a fantastic time and will definitely eat here again when I find myself in Denver next! read more

I'm here on vacation. Heated about this restaurant from our your guy to Rocky Mountains. The pastas are amazing. We had the lobster pasta and lamb ragu and both were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth trying this place. read more

Tavernetta was a lot of fun, good food, good energy. We felt the pasta was good but not great (Restaurant Olivia). Service and staff were very good, it was a super busy night so service was a little slower than average probably but understandable. Didn't enjoy the lamb, it was very unevenly cooked and a bit cold when we received it, might just be an isolated thing. Killer cocktails though!! We had 5 star fun but 4 star food in comparison to the best restaurants in Denver. read more

We had a lovely dinner for just the two of us. Excellent variety of wines to choose from. The appetizers were great. The entrees were fantastic, and the portions are just the right size (I always end up ordering one of the daily specials!). The hostess was really well-organized and helpful. The waiter had a wealth of knowledge and provided excellent recommendations. He was there, but at the same time he allowed us enough room to be by ourselves for our romantic evening!  I will have fond memories of our meal every time I pass by!  Based on our experience, I would definitely recommend stopping by! read more

First night in Denver, staying at Kimpton Born. Wanted a late-ish dinner. No reservation no problem. Friendly hostess told us that there was a little bar table available and we tucked in for the most delightful meal. Our server was the best, ready with great recommendations, never rushed us - we wanted to take it slow - and everything was truly delish. Carrots and salmon crudo to start. Crudo: small but v flavorful. Carrots: sublime. I have had roasted carrots in Italy as as a starter and these brought back memories. Perfect. Our waiter again suggested a perfect wine to accompany our pasta: we had mafaldine w rabbit ragu and the lobster tagliatelle: amazing. Desert also delish (gelato & tiramisu- salty top was a nice touch. Anyway, it was the perfect start to our long lazy weekend. Casual fine dining, great laid back atmosphere, excellent service. Highly recommend!!! read more

Wow. Simply just wow! I have been hearing from others in the industry how great this restaurant is for years. We never found the time to head down to Denver for a nice dinner, until Wednesday. We got married on Wednesday and Tavernetta was where we had our celebratory dinner. We called to see if we could come a little later as we were still enjoying time with our parents and hadn't made it down town yet from Littleton. They were amazing and moved us later no problem! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and congratulated as we were shown to our beautiful intimate table right in front of the fireplace. From here our dinner just got better and better. Everything we ate and drank was impeccable! Our waiter was also amazing with recommendations and his service was beyond perfect. The sommelier on the floor made another perfect recommendation that paired perfectly with our NY Strip. We felt so loved and special from the amazing staff, literally team members made their way to our table just to congratulate us. Other guests bought us some drinks which just showed us how great this restaurant must be, bringing together such an awesome community of people to dine. Incredible ambiance that was modern and classy, yet comfortable. I cannot say enough good things about our night. As some one who manages an Italian restaurant and preaches quality service daily, I am thrilled to say that we were truly blown away. Thank you so much to the entire team at Tavernetta. We made the right choice in coming here to celebrate our marriage. We will definitely be back!! read more

Tavernetta is hands down the best meal I've had since I moved back to Denver in January. I've gone twice, once for a work lunch and once for my wedding anniversary, different but equally awesome experiences. My favorite dishes include the foccacia which I had to tell them to stop giving to me, the burrata (I am a sucker for a burrata but this is really exceptional), and the lobster pasta. The pasta especially just blew my mind. It was so different and just perfect. The service has been what you'd expect at a restaurant of this caliber, they even sent a sommelier over to talk to us when we didn't want to spend a bajillion dollars on wine. I do agree with other reviews that the atmosphere is not as warm as you might expect, but I find it pretty elegant. I absolutely can't wait for another occasion to come back. read more

Went for HH and everything was amazing. Service was exceptional. Drinks were wonderful!

Went for my wife's birthday dinner. Sat with friends and ordered several starters; burrata, anchovies, octopus, arancini, all amazing with the octopus being the standout! Entrees of mushroom pasta, lamb bolognese, and roasted chicken. Mushroom pasta was so good in a simple cream sauce. Lamb bolognese was a solid second and the presentation of the chicken was 4 star with beautiful roasted fingerling potatoes and radicchio. Bitter greens were the star! Beignets were really good, lemon curd, soft supple fried dough! read more

I'm so happy we got to visit Tavernetta before we left Denver. The food was definitely worth the wait (make sure to make a reservation if you don't wanna wait too long since they are pretty popular). The drinks were amazing as well. The employees were wonderful. Loved everything about this gorgeous restaurant! read more

First class service the minute you walk in the door. We were greeted by the host and manager with the most welcoming smile and service. It set the expectations that this was going to be a 5 star experience. It's very rare to have a restaurant that is attentive, disciplined and provide exceptional service with spectacular food. Hands down, a Michelin star worthy place to dine...if only Michelin would rate in Denver. Our food was presented all at the same time with waiter to party amount. Food is out of this world. Our go to is lobster tagliatelle, lamb gnocchi, agnolotti. We tried everything off dessert menu, tiramisu was a fan favorite. Our waiter Nick was friendly, accommodating, and thoughtful. With all the wonderful restaurants Denver has to offer, Tavernetta is head and shoulders above the rest!! read more

Best restaurant in Denver! This is our special occasion spot and it never lets us down. Impeccable service, food, and ambiance.

I brought my eldest son here for my 38th birthday and was very well rewarded for the Endeavor. We shared the off the menu Bistecca, which I recommend to anybody looking to spoil themselves at anytime anywhere ever. We started with the prosciutto and the Gorgonzola and honey which was excellent- I wish we have taken pictures but we were too busy eating everything, which went very well with the Italian soda as I felt like drinking would have marred the perfect meal. An excellent insight, because my son never eats anything and he demanded all my leftovers at evening which made my heart soar. Normally I don't like to discuss money but I got to tell you you spend $250 on lunch and come away saying I should have spent more- my favorite restaurant in all of existence. You want to treat yourself this is how you do it. read more

I love tavernetta, the food here is amazing. I was a little disappointed when I went here for my anniversary and the restaurant did not do anything special for the occasion as many others do; however, it's not a deal breaker for me. They are also really great at accommodating food allergies such as gluten and dairy. The service is always excellent and I will definitely be returning. read more

One of the best meal experiences I've had. Service was top notch and then some. Everything we tried was fantastic. Great cocktails.

Many things to say about this place. Several very good dishes and some only ok ones. Carpaccio is a must- super delicious melt in your mouth flavor. Burrata was good but not the best I've had. Antipasti of Prosciutto was great but some of the other dried meats were not incredible (I've had them before at other places and they never impress me - so more of a personal taste thing). Rigatoni with lamb ragu was incredible, to my surprise. Actually ended up getting 2 of these for the table. Tagliatelle was disappointing. In that dish I wanted the lobster to shine, but that did not happen. The salt of the sauce overpowered other flavors and that lobster could have been shrimp or another seafood- that's how masked the flavor was. Service was good - possibly too good. I like a bit more "reading" of the table aka, if ppl are talking and in the middle of a discussion, no need to ask how things are 5 times. Also, the presence of 4-5 people serving/cleaning a table at once was smothering. A high level of excellence can be maintained without that degree of interruptions or forced attention. Servers were great and just doing their job so I have a feeling this is a restaurant policy type of thing - relax it. No one wants to feel smothered/ interrupted to that degree. Take a page from the European dining experience. read more

This restaurant is outstanding in terms of "farm to table" fresh herbs top quality flavors ! You can taste every single ingredient, great job Chef !!! We started with a happy hour cheese prosciutto plate that was amazing and I accompanied with a 2016 Barolo trediberri ! great, great, great outstanding wine list Bobby ! Tavernetta is simply outstanding: fantastic atmosphere, amazing food, perfect service. You can watch these culinary artists at work in their four-station open kitchen. This is place where you feel like a regular the first time you walk in, and it gets better from there. Give it a try & you will not be disappointed. One important tip: the entrance is not really visible from the street. It's adjacent to the Kimpton Hotel, where the train tracks end at Union station. read more

Went for girls night out for work and set at Chef's table. Highlights: -Great ambiance and service! -Loved the carpaccio, tiramisu(def one of best I've tasted), tagliatelle with lobster (my favorite dish of night), agnolotti, branzino, and the osso buco( beautifully cooked and loved the greens!) -late for the train cocktail was fabulous! -my friend loved that they use "Zalto" wine glasses to enhance wine Misses: -The pappadelle was under cooked, and overall the dish didn't work with the duck confit and Brussels sprouts -The Anatra IR duck was overcooked and lacked seasoning -The honey gelato was amazing but the suggestion of adding white truffle just ruined the dish and at $25 additional charge I would have rather had it on the pasta. While some sweet/savory combos work this did not work for anyone at our table and was a big regret. read more

You will not experience better service anywhere. The atmosphere was amazing.... Sophisticated, but relaxed. There we're babies on parents' laps, and they were perfectly behaved.
