Always an amazing experience at Tavernetta! This time we were celebrating my birthday and reserved an alpenglobe outside. It was such a magical experience eating outside in December (while still warm!) and have so much privacy. Everyone we encountered from a service perspective was phenomenal. One person in our group has a dietary restriction and our server went above and beyond to make suggestions and substitutions. This was my first experience in years of enjoying fine dining where a restaurant imposed a time limit on my stay. We were informed over and over that we would need to vacate our table at a certain time, lending a bizarre air of hurried anxiety to our entire experience. Magically, after we ordered a bottle of wine and actual dishes, our server explained that tables had shifted and we were welcome to stay, but... really? Was it because we reached some invisible dollar amount, we wondered? Regardless, this practice cast a pall on our experience and I won't return or recommend this restaurant to others. It's too bad, because the food was wonderful. But Tavernetta's focus seemed to be simply "get them food and get them out the door". To me, this practice signifies that the restaurant's table turnover is their highest priority and my experience is secondary at best. After coming here just for drinks, I had been looking forward to coming back for food. It did not disappoint! It's a beautiful restaurant with a very cozy area with a fireplace by the bar. We were sat further back in the restaurant. We started with the bread that was so good! I was disappointed that we each only got one piece, but was happy when they came back and offered more. We could have used more olive oil as well. Such a decision on what to order....Three of us were there for lunch and we all ordered different pasta. We tried each other's and they were all so good. I had the gnocchi and they were like soft pillows that melted in my mouth. When we left, I saw them cutting the gnocchi by hand as we walked by the kitchen. My only improvement area is that my drink sat empty for awhile before I was offered a refill. I very much recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming again. read more

The environment was wonderful and the food was great. Lovely fire in the center of the room. Our waiter William S. was a great and not only was he professional he was excellent at helping us navigate the menu and explained every detail even down to timing for food from the kitchen and how best to order to keep the food coming. Fantastic menu and food, and the service was top notch. I highly recommend the burrata for an appetizer.

This was by far the most amazing meal me or my husband have ever had. We had the Bresaola and the Polpo (which was the best and most tender octopus I personally have ever had), the capesante (scallops) which were cooked perfectly and divine, my husband had the Manzo (NY strip) which was cooked perfectly medium rare and delicious, and I got the Tagliatelle (lobster pasta) to which I have never moaned between bites before. We can see the living room like area with a fireplace, kitchen and others activities from where we were sitting at. We don't know what they do to prepare their food. Nothing complicated but quite simple. Please try their olives and burrata cheese. And don't forget to order a glass of wine to go with these dishes. And don't miss the cocktails. Fabulous. Let's talk about their clam pasta. ( I never fail to order clam pasta when a restaurant offers in menu). The pasta itself was super great, but clams were chopped up into small pieces and no shells. Update: I went to Tavernetta with 8 people to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was phenomenal, wine recommendations were spot on and the food was as always delicious! Since we were a large party our server asked us if he could bring recommendations to the table instead of us ordering individually. This was the best decision we made that night (probably the only good after one too many wine bottles mind you). The sever brought us several dishes from each section of the menu to with our dietary restrictions in mind. It was such a seamless experience, the food kept coming, the wine kept pouring and the conversions rolled on until we have had enough. read more

This was our second time going, the first being one year ago. We really liked the experience and everything was delicious then. This time, we had a very different experience. We sat and the waiter came over quickly which was nice, however we waited around 20 minutes for the Sommelier to come over and therefore had to order our food before we even had drinks. The waiter wasn't the most attentive and all 5 of the 6 pasta dishes my family and I ordered were under seasoned and underwhelming. Exceptional experience from beginning to end. In from Boston for the weekend and was bummed that I couldn't get a reservation as it was a first choice for my husband (who's a chef) to dine. Then I read the fine print - walk ins at the bar, lounge and patio are open if you give it a try. Service- impeccable. The best way to describe it is feeling cared for - which is a talent in itself. Host, food runners, wait staff all fantastic and super knowledgeable. Says whole bunch for the entire staff at Tavernetta when the industry has taken a beating lately. The food - this is where all lovely ingredients want to go at the end of the road. We shared all the dishes since we knew we wanted a few courses. Started with a whipped ricotta and fresh tomato crostini. Then onto a simple mixed salad - again with fresh tender lettuces, herbs and a buttermilk dressing. Pasta was next - cacio e pepe and an amazing lobster tagliatelle. The main was a sirloin with corn, chanterelles and some baby kale. Every ingredient was well balanced on the plate. Finished with a roasted peach & marscapone gelato. Seriously - so amazingly delicious we were fully tempted to lick the plates clean. I Highly recommend sharing multiple handmade pastas and asking your server for wine recommendations. The wine we had was spot on and paired well with our meal. We couldn't get enough of the GNOCCHI - Lamb Ragù and Pecorino & TAGLIATELLE - Maine Lobster, Calabrian Chile, Preserved Tomato and Celery. Be sure to try the fresh bread. Also you will become addicted to their house bread. You've been warned. The house bread is five stars very delicious focaccia type that you dip into their savory olive oil. I could have been content on bread and wine at the bar :) The Burrata is a great way to start your meal, it's creamy and full of flavor from their house pesto and topped with fresh basil I had the rigatoni which is the pasta they make onsite and it was very yummy and fresh. The flavor was good but a little bit to rich to finish. The rotisserie chicken dish is out of this world!! Great for sharing with the table I wish I had room for the tiramisu! Maybe next time. The Crudo did not taste fresh. The pasta is "homemade" but definitely did not taste like it. He was helpful in guiding us through the menu. The Carpaccio Cipriani was as good as its namesake in Venice, Italy(Harrys Bar) My white and green asparagus was the essence of the season I normally do not eat lamb but Matt convinced me that the lamb Ragu served with homemade gnocchi was worth ordering as the taste of lamb was so subtle. This is the sister restaurant of Frasca in Boulder. It is upscale Italian dining. They can make gluten free pasta, which is amazing! My sister and I went here for a sister date night. We started with the salumi, prosciutto and robiolo (highly recommend getting this cheese). We then shared a gluten free pasta --it was the Tagliatelle dish (though we didn't get the Tagliatelle pasta), it came with a delicious broth and lobster, yum! Then we finished with the Branzino (which is already gluten free). The service is amazing, they are very attentive. We got sat at a table that wasn't the greatest, it was a two seater that was very close to the kitchen but the other person was shut off by the wall, kind of a weird table. We made our reservations months ago, so I was surprised about the table, however the service far surpassed my expectations. Can't wait to be back. Almost forgot, they have gluten free bread. Possibly the best gluten free bread I've ever had. For the non-gluten free people they have focaccia which my sister said was quite delicious as well. read more
