Vegetarian - Street Fries, instead of meat subbed beans and rice. Actually very good. Would order again
    Ron R.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Service - A+ / they allowed us to sub meat for rice and beans. Plus when she was adding the black beans, she spent the time to drain them first. Thanks for doing that! Food - B++ ... but so easily could be an A+ with 1 simple fix. Airport food can be hit or miss. Sacramento's Terminal B is a definite hit. Long Beach is mostly a miss because the following restaurants don't have true vegetarian items. Cantina no vegetarian items to stay for unless you like expensive nachos. Oddly enough, they are located right next to this place and it appears the food prep comes from here. Burger Bar has a vegetarian patty and a falafel burger, but other than the soft and delicious bun, I wouldn't recommend. The Boathouse Landing has zero options at the airport. They have a location outside that has a Beyond burger and asparagus sides, but not here. Which leaves me to The Taco Beach Cantina. Mexican food so you can basically make anything vegetarian. But they were nice enough to sub rice and beans for meat which really worked. Street Fries ($20.99, Grade B++) - Nacho cheese, Monterey cheddar shredded cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. We subbed the meat for rice and beans. They freshly fry the French fries and use them as the bottom layer. Then start piling on all the above and to our surprise, even a generous scoop of guacamole. It was very hearty, filling for 2 people to share, and satisfying. So why the B++ grade? Here's a tip for my future visits and hopefully to help yours. Ask them to make the fries extra crispy. The fries were hot, but not crispy. Crispy would give this dish a great textural component and elevate it to a solid A+. Bottom line - very friendly and quick service when you need to catch a flight. There are tables in the area so you don't need to eat standing up. Price isn't bad for airport food, especially because you can share with your travel buddy. And trust us - nobody wants anyone traveling on a full bean belly. Haha

    Breakfast burrito with added sausage
    Facundo B.

This place is located at the Long Beach airport and I got it because it seemed the quickest option. The menu is simple and there's only a handful of options to choose from. I went with the breakfast burrito which cakes with potatoes, eggs and cheese starting at $11.99. If you want additional protein added, like I did and got sausage, it's an additional $5.99. You can probably tell in the picture but the sausage was crunchy...? Not quite sure how that happens and I've never had anything like that before. The service was quick and friendly I have no complaints there. I don't think I will be trying this restaurant out again due to the crunchy sausage and lack of flavoring in the burrito as a whole. Definitely not worth the price.

probably your best evening option for hot food at the LGB airport. they make the fries fresh and give you a heaping portion of meat, if you choose to pay for the add-on. service was quick and friendly!

Looking at the last menu post, I was expecting 11.99 nachos (more for guac if you wanted it) plus 3.99 for carne. But the new menu only has one option: Nonstop Nachos 20.99 (guac included) plus 5.99 for carne. The food was okay, but the portions were definitely small, especially give the recent $11 mark up for nachos with meat.

Don't appreciate the extra charges! All I got was a chicken burrito with guacamole.
    Valerie A.

Burrito was good, but waaay overpriced. On the board it says $11.99 but then they super upcharge for chicken and guacamole so total for one burrito was $25! At least I can say they were very generous with the "extras". They don't put lard in their beans, thank you. Service was reasonably fast. Food court seating or there's an area close by when you can eat outdoors and watch the planes take off and land.

breakfast tacos: scrambled eggs, cheese, chorizo on flour tortillas = $9.49 for 2
    Trung N.

3.4724 stars Really not bad for airport food. Catch them before 10:30AM and you can have yourself a little breakfast before boarding. I ordered the breakfast tacos because they sounded most manageable before my short flight. For $9.49, you get 2 breakfast tacos - scrambled eggs, cheese, your choice of protein (chorizo for me) on either flour or corn tortillas. These were pretty good - comparable to something you'd make at home. I thought the chorizo was a tad too salty for my liking, but otherwise, this was a solid way to start the morning. They, of course, offer regular Mexican fare when it's not breakfast time. They also offer alcoholic beverages next door. Just a regular ole cantina at the airport.

    Yummy chicken tacos

Love the environment-service and hella yummy tacos! These guys took really good care of me

Jesse is the best! Super nice and helpful and chill. 10/10 will drink here every time I'm at the airport.

Edit: My friend found a bone in her carne asada... I didn't know that can happen with carne asada meat. Changed my rating due to this. This is a Mexican food place at the Long Beach airport. The food was decent. Most of the main entrees started at $11.99 and many items were add-ons (meat, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and queso). * Burrito with Carne Asada 4/5 - I wanted a breakfast burrito, but they didn't have it available all day. The regular burrito I got was pretty good for airport food. It came with generous amount of rice, bean, and you can add cheese, pico de gallo, lettuce, etc. and other add-ons as you'd like. The carne asada was good.

Had to buy sodas. Food already in trash.

For certain the worst airport food experience, ever..and that's for an airport food! Laughable, even. Gross chips, salsa was bland, no salt or spice, queso was concession nacho cheese!!. Baja style tacos didn't have any of the correct ingredients or sauce and meat didn't have any salt or other seasoning. Luckily, it was expensive. We ordered two margaritas to sit in the cantina to eat this monstrosity of a meal and at $20 each, they weren't even drinkable. Please, for all that is holy- eat before you come to the LGB airport. I want my money back but I don't have the energy. Also, I'm still hungry. Update: we did not pay for the $20 margaritas.

Very grateful they let me be the last customer of the evening as I was hungry before my flight home (delayed flight). A bit pricey and didn't include the pico de gallo like listed on the menu, but it filled me up. Grab and go location so the ambiance is the airport itself - but a beautiful outdoor area you can enjoy your meal for some fresh California air.

Breakfast tacos. Fall apart tortillas and no seasoning in the eggs.
    Dave H.

Breakfast tacos are not good here. It would not take much effort to elevate the game. The scrambled eggs did not taste like they were seasoned before cooking. The corn tortillas were just heated on the griddle without any oil. That dries them out and when I got my breakfast tacos, the tortillas fell apart. I guess that's why they give you a fork with the tortillas. Here is my Gordan Ramsey advice to help improve the customer experience. Season the eggs before you scramble them. And warm up the corn tortillas by misting them with oil first. That will make them more pliable, bring out the corn taste, and elevate the taste experience.

    The bar. And Brian.
    Bryan S.

Brian is awesome. He is super friendly and provides great service...he makes very good cocktails too! Stop by before you board your flight and grab a drink!

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Seeing people going in and out which I knew it was a restaurant. Last night we started off with drinks at the speakeasy next door. The two places share restrooms and that's how I found out about this place. Let me say it was a vibe. The first thing you notice from the back, the bar area and Photo Booth. And the live DJ keeping the place on its feet. We ended up wanted to check it out as it was a full restaurant and bar. Friday night without a reservation, spoke with hostess which they could accommodate 6 of us in a bit. Still had to close out at the other place before. The restaurant has a cool vibe with the main dining area in front, bar area towards the back side and on the opposite site is where the DJ booth was. Sam was our waitress who took very good care of us. Very sweet, friendly and of course attentive. Made sure that we were well taken cared of and if anything was needed she was there. It's a cool Mexican restaurant with a cool vibe to match. The place did get lively and was pretty full. You had parties up and dancing and enjoying themselves. Anyway, food and drinks. Started off with some spicy margaritas. Wow, they were strong but good. You had to sip versus drink... lol... Bartender was not playing and in a good way. The menu is somewhat limited compared to other restaurants but what was offered all looked amazing. A modern twist to Mexican food but still with the amazing authentic flavors. Instead of a meal we opted for à la carte and shared everything. Also was informed that the dishes are like tapas and great for sharing. Chips and salsa were brought out which both the chips and salsa were excellent. An order or the aguachille which had that nice sour taste with the lime juice perfectly balanced for the shrimp and trimmings. Served with tostada. The shrimp ceviche, another wonderful dish. Nicely marinaded in the lime juice was very flavorful and also served with tostada. An order of the enchiladas, came with three but we split it for 6 of us. The cheese and filling was very good. The molcajete served in a volcanic bowl stuffed with different meat, cactus, cheese all combined to create an amazing dish full of flavors. A must have and lastly the adobado hamachi collar, yellowtail. Very tasty but did have a fishy taste. Yes it's fish but still. Quite tasty and plentiful. Overall food and vibe was great. The place was definitely lively in the evening. We can finally say we've been and tried some amazing dish. It's a place that worth coming back for more. Parking is a little crazy as residential is always packed. There's a lot across the street which they do utilize but it's can be a bit crowded as well.
