Awesome in the summer. Great and fresh fish. We walk by here all the time as we live close. Great service and great vibes. We normally get a few tacos from the fish market and something to drink. Will keep doing so the only reason for four stars is the prices. They could lower them a bit. Anywho still a cool place

I pop into Roe every now and then for a snack and a drink, sometimes to watch football. The space is predictably equal parts airy and cozy, and the staff is always nice. This, however, is a cocktail appreciation post. I had the Negroni Fiori and it was a perfect pick-me-up for a Sunday afternoon. Wonderfully bitter and refreshing, served with a custom ice block. Love that Roe's cocktail program is always evolving in the best ways!

Food was good! I got the scallops and it was very tasty and I liked the risotto with it as well. Everyone really enjoyed their food. We were a party of 12 and they refused to do separate checks or even to split the check more than 3 ways so we assumed they would split the check by orders. However the waiter didn't tell us until the very end it wss by amount and not by what was ordered so we all had to calculate how much we ordered and dranked. It was chaotic and unnecessarily stressful for 12 people who have been eating and drinking for the last 1-2 hrs to sit there for 30 minutes and calculate who ordered what and how much that cost plus tax etc etc. they should have been able just to do separate checks or split it up by dishes ordered.

Fish Tacos on a Sunny Summer Afternoon! The best fish tacos around! Their fish taco plate comes with rice, beans, chips, amazing salsa and you have a choice of fish (battered or grilled). We love their Swordfish tacos (grilled)! Service is always excellent. The past few visits, including this visit, we have had servers that have been with Roe for many years. That is very telling! A business owner that is able to keep servers, must be treating them right! And then of course happy servers are great for business! Our server was Chase, who has been there since Roe opened, ten years ago, and as long as we have been going as well! Always nice to see familiar faces! Atmosphere is very relaxing, on the back patio, inside, on front patio. When it's crowded, we prefer the back patio as it is more quiet. This visit was at an off time (between lunch and dinner) and it was very quiet inside with just several other parties, although as we left it was starting to fill up. Restaurant turnover in Belmont Shore is high. We are so happy Roe has remained and been successful! It's definitely one of our favorites and we recommend it often. Brunch, lunch, dinner, or happy hour, always a great visit! Thank you Roe for being such a great food establishment!

4 1/2 stars. Finally tried Roe after seeing this restaurant for years. I was visiting some friends who were staying at an Rental at Belmont Shores for the Memorial weekend. We went for a walk on Second Avenue, It was the dinner hour, and we saw this eatery which was busy, and the aroma of seafood lured us in. Our party consisted of 6 adults, one teen and and a 4-year-old. We were seated immediately by the friendly Maradee at a large comfy in the main dining room. The restaurant is casual and there's a large patio in the back, if you desire to eat outdoors. They offer alcahol and I opted for a Modero dark which was cold and thirst quenching. We started off with a few orders of steam mussels and clams which were perfect for the complimentary bread to be dunked in. I opted for the Black ink seafood linguine which had a variety of fish, mussels, clams, shrimp and calamari. I was impressed with the flavor. I also tasted would recommend the fish and chips which was a generous portion of cod and fries that was simplistic - yet so yummy. Overall, I was satisfied with the service, quality of food and would return here in the future.

Happy hour dinner on a Monday with hubby on our first week of a month visit to Long Beach. OK we are officially old now, having dinner at 330pm! We were almost their only patrons, but it gave us a chance to enjoy the light and bright dining room. Service was very quick and efficient. Husband ordered a Pacifico pint for $5 and I got a spicy Paloma for $10. It was a pretty cocktail and definitely had a nice spice to it. We ordered a variety of appetizers for our meal, starting with the shrimp cocktail and two fish tacos. Served on ice, three plump shrimp came with traditional red cocktail sauce. The tacos were roe style sauce, grilled fish with cabbage and pico. In blue corn tortillas, these were really good filling tacos. My side was to be shrimp fried rice, a small dish, but it came out covered in a gloppy sauce I did not enjoy. Next time I will order the sauce on the side. Husband wanted to try the happy hour fish and chips. It was spectacular, with huge meaty pieces of battered fish and skinny skin on fried potatoes. It came with roe sauce and tartar, neither of which he really used because the dish was good solo. He also ordered the crunchy roll bow, which is like a deconstructed shrimp tempura crunch roll with two fried shrimp on top of rice, warm krab and sauce, a sheet of nori and some cucumber. Great concept but also a little gloppy. So a mixed bag here of winners and losers. Our server brought the bill but we did not take home either of the rice leftovers, drowned in sauce. I can see being a happy hour regular here if we lived nearby. Now we know what to order next time!

Wanted to love it as I really enjoyed all the items we had previously at the market side Scallops were amazing and 10/10 fresh and citrusy Salmon plate was very underwhelming, no flavor, no salt and just tasted very bland. Would not recommend this one Squid ink pasta was good, noodles were a bit soggy and food was a little cold when it came out. Would give this another shot as they do have a wonderful ambiance and maybe just need to order the other items.

Nice quiet place to have dinner with friends or family. We went on a weekday for dinner and had a good experience. The waitstaff is pretty attentive and make very helpful recommendations. My friend got the sesame salmon. She really liked the vegetables that it came with, and she said the sauce was very light. I got the sea fast and it was a pretty large portion, super flaky and a nice presentation. The restaurant seemed pretty big and could accommodate large parties if needed.

    Poke Cevichos

I've been to Roe about 6-7 times over the years and they've been great experiences. This time I had a Mahi burrito and the Cevichos, which are my favorite item. The Cevichos were great with poke and ceviche mixed with jalapeños, but the burrito was too small. We're the home of the Cali Burrito, so a skinny one is a culinary crime.

It's been over 5 years since I was last here. Then it was for weekend brunch as today was for lunch. Same same. It was just the start of lunch as it was still pretty quiet. Only one other couple was here but did filled up throughout our meal. Service was great as last time. Honestly think it was the same gentleman that took care of us last visit and this visit. The property is beautiful, well decorated. The beautiful open outdoor vibe with the olive trees inside the main dining area. They also have a covered patio on the front which is also pet friendly. And I believe there's an outdoor back patio. Lunch menu still was quite impressive with their seafood choices. We started off with a mimosas and beer. Didn't see the mimosas flight. Wondering if it's only for the weekend. Starters, we went with the pole cevichos. Their take on a poke and ceviche nachos which was excellent. The pairing with all the sauces and jalapeños mixed with the seafood was really good. Highly recommend this dish. Portion wise it's quite big for sharing, could also be a meal. The mains, went with the shrimp po boy and fish and chips. Both were excellent. Fish and chips, perfectly battered. Not overly as that can ruin the whole fish. It was flaky and juicy. The shrimp po boy, nice size sandwich in the baguette. Served with pickle chips, tomato and a little lettuce. The sauce accompanied, an aioli I believe was great. Both were served with a hefty portion of fries. Service was excellent, from checking in to being seated and taken care off. Friendly staff which is a plus. The meal was great and filling. Overall, amazing experience and excellent vibe. May need to have the oysters and scallops next time as it looked amazing from the table next to us.

First time here and found out they recently changed their hours from 11 am to 11:30 am. They no longer have brunch on Saturdays, only on Sundays. That was a bummer cuz we wanted to order a few brunch menu items and the mimosa would've been only $5. We ordered the Fish & Chips, Mahi Fish Tacos Plate, and Clam Chowder Soup. Everything tasted delicious and very filling. Our favorite was the fish and chips. It was made perfectly. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and we got our food very quick. There's meter parking on the streets, no free parking in this area of Long Beach. It's located near Bay Shore Ave. where you can see yachts and small boats in Bayshore Beach. It's a very nice place and there's outdoor seating.

Came back for the second time. It was as good as the first! We were not disappointed! Service was great! And fast. Shrimp in the pasta was a bit overcooked but otherwise the rest was good. Super cute inside too!

The restaurant was super cute and pretty inside. We got seated right away on a Thursday evening. The server was attentive and helpful. Started off with 1/2 dz oysters, Baja and pacific. Those were really good, I liked the Baja more. My friend and I decided to split food. We shared the clam chowder which was good but a little salty (they offered us some bread to go with it. ) I got the grilled mahi with double veggies. The fish lacked flavor as did the sauce it was in but I added lemon to it and finished it. My friend got the seafood salad and it was okay, nothing too spectacular. I also had a mocktail that I didn't share with anyone, called spa water. Something to order though would be the seasonal sorbet! Sooooo good! Great start and end, meh for the mains.

Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

Food wise, the chili cheese wasn't quite what I expected. First off it's was massive for the lunch special. Instead of fries it was potato slices/chips. A decent amount and then smothered and covered in chili with cheese and jalapeño slices. With a side of ranch to add the extra flavor. It was quite tasty and very filing. Two of us shared it and it was great with a cold beer. Service was great. Staff has alway been friendly everytime we been. Seating inside and outside both along the front patio as well as the large patio out back.
