Shrimp Pasta! The shrimps are huge!
Ray H.

I always pass by and decided to try lobster guys! I ended up going with the shrimp pasta! Excellent and the shrimp and huge and well-seasoned. the pasta and sauce were nice and creamy. A bit pricy at $22 bucks. Service was good. They have a lot of tables inside. It's a cool little spot to eat! They have everything from shrimp, lobster rolls, fish, clam chowder to crab cakes, lobster mac, chicken wings and many more goodies here! I believe anything that comes out of this place is amazing. Food rating: Shrimp pasta 9.0\10

Ooooh a lobster guys?! I typically wouldn't gravitate towards a place like this but being with my bestie she said she wanted to try it. They have an extensive menu, lots of great choices here. You feel like ordering 4 items at a time honestly. They have a touch screen to order from or the cashier. There's plenty of places with the menu including photos to give you the best idea of what you would like to order. I don't know about you, but I need photos to be able to order sometimes, so I love the huge photos inside! I ended up offering buffalo wings (ironic, it's a seafood place) & shrimp tacos. Buffalo wings were okay, definitely not life changing. But again it's a seafood place... so stick to their seafood lol. The shrimp tacos came in a trio, I chose corn tortillas. Yum yum in my tum tum! They give a wedge of lemon & a side cup of salsa. It's amazing. I think the side salsa has a perfect kick and flavor to it, it was a great first date between the shrimp and the salsa. The shrimps were packed with flavor, nice bite, not overcooked because shrimps can be sooooo delicate and overcook fast but this place made it perfectly. The tortillas were soft and did not break easy-- my pet peeve is corn tortillas falling apart, but these were perfect! Overall the ambiance and service is super nice. It's clean inside. I want to say it was the owners that were there but they're super friendly! They gave me a sample of their parfait which was good as well but I wasn't feeling parfait to order it at the moment. Plenty of plaza parking, single use restroom in the back. Good amount of seating.

This is a casual place to get lobster rolls. They have an extensive menu and you order off the counter. The staff is nice and they got our order out fairly quickly. We got maine style lobster rolls and a side of tots. Maine Style Lobster Roll- Served on a buttery warm bun. The lobster pieces are fresh and juicy and the aioli it's tossed in has a nice mild flavor. Very tasty! Tots- Crisp on the outside and a nice contrast of soft inside. It's the perfect complement to the lobster roll. Makes for a filling meal. Great experience overall!

I stumbled upon this spot while on the hunt for a solid clam chowder and was surprised I hadn't come across this chain before. To hedge my expectations, I also ordered Chowder Barge to go from the place I tried the other day which i'm in awe of and highly recommend, well, at least since I was in the area. This place is located in a shopping center, parking was effortless, which is always a plus. The service immediately stood out. The cashier was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging, setting a positive tone before ordering. I asked for recommendations and went with the warm lobster roll, sweet potato fries, clam chowder, and shrimp pasta, all ordered to-go. The turnaround time was reasonable, and the steady flow of customers suggested a dependable local favorite. The concept leans toward fast-casual seafood, but the quality edges just beyond what you'd expect from that category. The sweet potato fries were a standout crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The clam chowder delivered on comfort and flavor. The warm lobster roll was respectable, though not particularly memorable. The shrimp pasta, however, fell short; it lacked depth and needed more sauce to bring the dish together. I have to say I really enjoyed the calamari fries, exceptional. I didn't take many pictures because it was to go, i did take two of the two main. Overall, it's a reliable option for a quick seafood fix without sacrificing too much quality. I'd return, if i'm in the mood for some quick seafood to go.

It's just OK On the fence regarding freshness ?!?! The pictures are far more glamorous than what you get. Kind sweet girl working that's a plus. Bad location to me that area who's paying the price for lobster rolls ??? Was expecting better quality would I drive 25 30 min not again would I drove 10 min to try again NO. One and done was enough for me. Wanted to love the lobster guys. But something I just can't put my finger on I think basically freshness of the lobster roll itself ,,, better out there.

When the lobster craving hits, head over to Lobster Guys in Long Beach. Look at that butter drip... Let's start with the classic Connecticut-style lobster roll -- warm, buttery lobster piled high on a toasted split-top bun. every bite is rich, sweet, and perfectly simple, letting the lobster shine. Then there's the Cali Truffle Roll -- loaded with lobster, creamy avocado, and a drizzle of fragrant truffle oil that takes it to another level. And don't skip the crab cake burger -- golden, crispy on the outside, tender and packed with crab on the inside. Perfectly grilled salmon served with a side of golden crispy fries. If you're craving comfort, the shrimp pasta is buttery, garlicky, and seriously satisfying. And of course... you have to finish with a bowl of their clam chowder. If you love lobster, consider this your sign to make the trip. Wonderful customer service from Martin and Victor!! Plenty of parking.

We door dashed from here today and it was soooooo good! I have tried lobster rolls at many places and loved seeing the variety on the menu so I tried the Cali truffle roll to mix it up and it was amazing. If I lived in the area I would come here all the time. Next time I am I will try a few other things from the menu as well. The extra lobster is worth the $. I'm also not a tater tot person but they were fried to perfection. Put one of these in the inland empire

Crystal G.

Food was decent - nothing spectacular. Service was mehhh - nothing to rave about. Ambiance when mehhh - just another place to grab a quick bite. Personally, I'd skip this place and opt for something much tastier.

Great hidden gem tucked away in Long Beach. Found this great place off of yelp and it will be a definite for us every time we come this way. 10/10 for everything! Service was exceptional! Food was AMAZING! Restaurant was very clean. Now for the food!!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. The flaming hot lobster fries melts in your mouth. The seasoned fries are not salty, the cheese is like nacho cheese, the lobster chunks are huge and then there's a small kick from the jalapeño. We ordered 2! That's how good it was! The Cali style truffle roll has chilled lobster with celery toppings. Husband said Clobster roll (crab & lobster mix) was better than his Maine lobster roll. All rolls came with a side of salad. We left very satisfied and lobster craving fulfilled!!!

This place is such a little gem! The food was super fresh, very delicious, great serving sizes and fill us up. The ambience was a nice place very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was amazing. They made you feel like family very friendly and very outgoing. Definitely loved this place and we'll head back.

I had such a great experience at Lobster Guys! From the moment we walked in, DQ took amazing care of us. She was so outgoing, kind, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. You can tell she really cares about her customers, and it made the whole experience that much better. Her energy and positive is 110%!!!The food was just as impressive. We ordered two Connecticut-style lobster rolls, and they were seriously some of the best I've had--huge shoutout to A, the chef! The buns were perfectly toasted and buttery, and the lobster was super fresh and packed with flavor. Also, don't skip the fries--they were super crispy and paired perfectly with their sauces.Overall, everything from the service to the food was on point. Definitely coming back! The overall interior of the restaurant is modern, clean, and comfortable.

Lobster Mac Cheese

The lobster Mac n cheese is amazing! So are the lobster rolls. Caesar salad with shrimp and the clam chowder are delicious! (I am eyeing another customer's blueberry cheesecake from across the table.) You probably can't go wrong with anything you order. P.S. Get the strawberry lemonade

Mmmm!!! Great options!

My New Go-To Coffee Spot -- You HAVE to Try This Place! I…read morewas just recently introduced to this little gem, and I am so glad I was! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, cute, and incredibly welcoming -- the kind of spot that instantly feels like your place. The drinks are on point. I've tried the iced coffee and the matcha, and both were excellent -- not overly sweet, not watered down, just really well done. But what truly won me over? The breakfast sandwiches. I had a croissant sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese, and it was chef's kiss -- fresh, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Not a single corner cut. And the service? Amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. That kind of hospitality is rare and it absolutely elevates the whole experience. This is officially my new coffee spot, hands down. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or sitting down for a full breakfast, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it!

CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING Was looking for a breakfast…read morespot and came across this place. It was about a 20 minute drive from home so I was hoping it was worth it. Walking in the ambiance was regular typical cafe. The customer service was traditionally basic. I ordered for 4ppl and when I arrived home I noticed my order was partially wrong. I ordered 2 bacon avocado toast, 1 avocado toast and a grilled cheese. They forgot the bacon on one of the avocado toast. And 2 of the 4 drinks weren't full. As I mentioned it was about a 20 minute drive so I just took the loss. The taste of the food was ok for 2 of the ppl other 2 ppl one being myself was kind turned off with the missing bacon and half full drinks so I basically trashed my meal. I'm aware humans make mistakes but that alone doesn't make me want to rush back to this location. I do want to mention something good about this place I did like how they dressed up the avocado toast with the egg on the side.

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. Honestly, Long Beach has more wine bars than most surrounding areas, and since the South Bay is packed with breweries, if you're tired of beer this is your sign to switch it up. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex. There is seating indoors and outdoors. It's minimal, but somehow we always manage to find a table. The service is consistently great and the owner is wonderful. She will be leaving soon and she will absolutely be missed, but what she has built here will definitely be cherished. The new owners fell in love with the place, so you can expect it to be well taken care of and to remain just as charming. Parking is street only, so read the signs carefully so you don't end up with a ticket. If you go on a Sunday there are no restrictions or time limits, which makes it even better.

Sala Coffee & Wine Bar in Long Beach is so cute, like dangerously cute. I came for a book club…read moreevent and only got a coffee this time, which feels very responsible of me, but also... I already know I need to come back for food and wine. Obviously. The vibe was cozy, the staff was super friendly, and it just felt like the kind of place where you bring a book, romanticize your life, and accidentally stay way longer than planned. Coffee, wine, books, cute little atmosphere? Honestly, they knew exactly what they were doing. Five stars. I will be returning, probably with a book and my friend

Hmm, going over the other one star reviews, I can notice a common theme…read more Really weird experience here. First it's 7:30pm, planned on ordering a matcha and the person at the register informed me that there was "No coffee or tea after 4pm" so I choose to order a non alcoholic beverage and maybe something to eat and cashier or owner, whoever this person was tells me if I plan to work because it becomes a "laptop free zone" after 4pm. Odd behavior to tell someone what they can and can't do at an establishment considering it's called a coffee AND wine bar. Maybe this is something to advertise on your yelp and website but a "laptop free zone" after 4pm is pretty ridiculous for potential customers who were just looking to eat and work. I almost feel like he just told me that because I was going to order a salad and a non alcoholic beverage and wasn't planning on ordering much. As the other 1 star reviews mention "pretentious behavior" so it's either the cashier or whoever it was is being pretentious as others mentioned or RACIST... Kinda odd to dictate what I do on my own accord while I'm a patron at your establishment. If I ordered food and a drink but chose to open my laptop, are you going to ask me to leave? Doesn't really seem customer centric. Considering that I've worked on my laptop at dine-in restaurants, it's pretty odd behavior to display. Also, considering that this is not a club, and there's no live music, and there were only 3 people sitting in there, I think I would have been fine to sit there quietly in a corner with my laptop. 1 star for the experience and weird behavior. Like I said it's either pretentiousness or racism but weird behavior nonetheless.

This time (yesterday), however, was not nearly the same experience. First of all, I realized we couldn't book a table for 8 people, so me and my friends book 2 tables for 8.30PM. I called asking if it's possible to put our tables together close or side by side, they said they will try their best. We all showed up at 8.30 and waited until around 9-9.15 because they only had 1 table ready. Ok. Come the time the other table opened and it's not even that close to each other. But it's okay, I respect the limitations on this part. No one came to us to take our order or even give us water until way later, and we got our drinks at 9.45. Another critique is that my friend called and ask how much corkage fee and they said $25. It turned out to be $40. Another disappointment, but it's ok. Not much can be done bout that part. Next thing is the food. We enjoyed the fried green beans. Crudo was really really salty, and it's not only 1 person thought that. We wondered if the kitchen mistakenly salted the fish twice. We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.

After a quick perusal, I thought the Peruvian Steak sandwich best whet my appetite. Peruvian Steak sandwich- Spicy aji amarillo marinated steak with Oaxacan cheese, herb aioli, red onions, tomatoes, shredded romaine on a toasted potato roll. I quite liked this. Tender steak, with fatty cheese. The vegetables provided contrast & texture. For my purchase, I went with a side of Southern Potato Salad. It was good, but similar to grocery deli potato salad. In hindsight, I should've purchased avocado added to my Peruvian Steak sandwich. Service was excellent. All hands were on deck, as Mendocino Farms opened only a few days prior. Each employee had a name badge, specifying their name & which entree was their favorite, helping indecisive customers choose what to get. Plenty of seating indoors & al fresco. Parking is at LBX, with Mendocino Farms being across Georgia's and facing the Hangar at LBX. I found the Peruvian Steak sandwich delicious, yet meager in quantity, considering the regular price. It's more of a substantial snack, than a full meal, in my case. However, it's great to have another quality food option in the area, and I look forward to coming back & exploring the rest of menu.

I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

Recently stopped by Beach City Deli & BBQ after seeing recommendations online and decided to order…read morethe Big Kahuna. Honestly, one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. Everything tasted super fresh and the bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. My original plan was to eat half and save the rest for later... yeah, that didn't happen. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

But, I understand. That particular sandwich is loaded with 6 kinds of meat. The contingency sandwich became the Big Bucky, w/ the choice of 3 meats. Soppressata, mortadella, bacon, extra onions, pickles & tomatoes. A satisfying, filling sub sandwich that made for a pleasurable lunch. A nominal wait, the meat were freshly sliced, and assembling the sandwich with plump & crisp vegetables, it was worth every minute of delay. The cashier was friendly & a pleasure to deal with, too.

I Luv Ur Buns, I super miss you!…read more Really glad we got to stop in one last time before the swan song. Your Satay with Me will stay with me forever. Though very much a forever fan of the Orange U Yummy and your Triple Buns Mix 7 match deal. Hot Honey Bun (V) style was a so so good. Global Flavors on Bao Buns for all the yum and then some not to mention those vegetable spring rolls, fries and load fries as well as bowls. Service on the last weekend was a perfect 10/10. The vibes and decor at SteelCraft where ILUB called home is still nothing but great, live music/djs, tvs with sports or local events and an open air covered food and hangout hub. Easy parking in on of their 2 lots, see signs. This sign will absolutely be missed.

When I heard that I Luv Ur Buns was closing for good after only a couple of years, it only made…read moresense for me to plan a quick excursion around the area and stop by to bid them adieu. It was a nice addition to the mini food court in Long Beach, but unfortunately, times got tough for them to the point where they had to pull the plug on their operations. I Luv Ur Buns was one of seven vendors at Steelcraft Long Beach on the southeast corner of Long Beach and Bixby. They had taken over the spot that used to be Waffle Love, and it was such a quick turnaround that on my first visit to Steelcraft Long Beach since the Waffle Love closure, I almost thought they seamlessly rebranded from waffles to bao buns lol. Signage was posted around the shipping container assigned to I Luv Ur Buns and even a signicade closer to Steelhead Coffee; the signs informed customers that they were closing and that the Sunday preceding Martin Luther King Jr Day would be their last day of business, which also happened to be the same day the LA Rams were playing in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs, so I almost thought Steelcraft would be jam-packed. Actually, no it wasn't even that busy, and there were several parking spots available just around Steelcraft. I definitely wanted to try a bao bun, but not a full dinner, so that left me with the two Global Flavors sections of the menu. One section was titled "Global Flavors on Bao Buns" where you basically get two bao buns. Don't think these bao buns are large by any means; I tried a couple at Sosogu sometime last year, and they're not that big either. They would have been the perfect size for a snack, but I was also curious about the other Global Flavors section, titled "Global Flavors with Rice or Fries". That section only has two line items: Mini Bowls and Loaded Fries. I didn't want fries, but when I asked about a Mini Bowl, I was informed that it was a deconstructed version of a bao bun with a small mound of rice. Wanting a little more variety, I went with the Bao Mi Mini Bowl. The menu did get a little confusing for me because I had noticed the (V), which usually stands for either vegan or vegetarian. However, they had several non-vegetarian items with (V), and that had me confused at first; like how is a bao bun with grilled pork belly vegetarian?? That's when the cashier, sporting a black nose ring, let me know that it can be ordered with a plant-based option, namely tofu. However, the cashier also mentioned the use of a shared fryer between their plant-based options and their regular options, so if you were strictly vegan, I'd think twice first. I asked how long the wait would be, and they estimated 10 minutes, which was pretty much spot on. I was given a pager that buzzed when my order was ready, and since there was plenty of space for me to eat, I was given a red tray with an "I Luv Ur Buns" sticker in the middle. The mini bowl was presented on a small tray, like one you'd use when you're giving out samples at a special event. I was also given a fork, which was another reason why I ordered a Mini Bowl over two bao buns as I wanted to keep my hands clean. Besides the grilled pork belly, the Bao Mi also comes with hoisin sauce, cucumber, jalapeno, onion, and cilantro. All of what I just mentioned tasted pretty good, though not necessarily as good as what I had at Sosogu last year. Then again, the Bao Mi is Vietnamese-style whereas Sosogu is Japanese, but between the two, which are the two cheapest options at $10, the Bao Mi was the most popular alongside their Korean-style, called Seoul on Fire. I'm pretty sure I would have liked Seoul on Fire better as it comes with Bulgogi beef, but the grilled pork belly was pretty good too. Just not as fatty as I would have liked. However, I didn't like their use of a wrapping paper between the tray and the food. That's because several grains of rice got stuck on the wrapping paper, and it was hard to pluck them off with my fork. As a result, it got kind of messy eating the mini bowl, and I almost thought I'd drop a piece of pork belly in the process! Luckily, I didn't, but I don't think that would be a problem with the bao buns since the bao bun from my mini bowl didn't stick to the wrapping paper at all. One thing I observed that I thought was kind of cool was witnessing the cashier hand deliver a tray of bao buns to an employee from Elio's Wood Fire Pizza, directly across from I Luv Ur Buns. I wouldn't say I love I Luv Ur Buns, but it made for a nice quick snack albeit a little pricey for a small bowl. I'm glad I gave them a try before they closed for good, and I made sure to bid them a proper adieu by returning the tray to them. They also had a small tray of I Luv Ur Buns stickers by their order window, so I made sure to pick up a couple as souvenirs. Thank you I Luv Ur Buns for serving the LBC for the past couple years, and sorry to see you go! Best wishes to Sonya, Mandy, and the rest of the team on their future endeavors.
