The family travels to PA using 84 about a dozen times a year, always looking for somewhere new to stop. Tried the Redline after getting gas and was pleasantly surprised. Got a table for 6 in about 10mins during what appeared the dinner rush. Waitress was not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but was very friendly. Food was very good, Chicken pot pie, patty melt, quesadillas, pancakes...large portions at fair prices. Refills till we floated away. Very clean restrooms despite the amount of traffic we saw go through the place. We'll be back for sure. read more

Had a great breakfast. I usually am afraid of dinners due to the "hit or miss" experiences I have had. This place was delicious. They have a large selection of meals and a ton of awesome cakes and pies. Although I came in for breakfast I ended up with steak and eggs. I was not disappointed! Juicy steak and it hit the spot. Had dinner here last night. Place was clean, service cheerful and prompt, extensive menu, prices are upper reasonable. I had a special, cranberry/apple/Gorgonzola pork chops, mash potatoes and grilled asparagus. The food was surprisingly good and large portions. I liked the bread selection and the side salad was OK. The desert selection looked great, cakes, pies cupcakes crem brûlée.... I was too full from dinner to try any. I was surprised to see a full bar in a diner. I love this place, I come here all the time with my girlfriend at random hours of the day and have never been disappointed. For appetizers, a personal favorite of ours has to be the cheesy spinach artichoke dip, but the rio grande rolls are great as well. As far as main courses, their burgers are outstanding a long with their paninis and wraps. Personally though, a good diner has to have good breakfast and the red line hits it out of the park in that department too. The service is great, just yesterday I was there with my girlfriend and we weren't that hungry so we decided to split a sandwich. A member of the family that owns this and several other food establishments in the area, is almost always on hand to ensure that your experience is pleasant. You cannot go wrong with the Red Line Diner. The chicken walnut salad and the turkey meltdown sandwich are particular favorites of mine, as well as the french toast and the western omelette. This was my first time here. All I can say is OUT OF THIS WORLD GREAT!! The food was not only delicious the portions they gave you were huge. We got huge pieces of cheesecake from the bakery to go. We were seated right by the station where all the servers were looking at the orders, so it felt like there were vultures hovering over us as we ate. After sending back a tasteless latte, I was served my meal: a pesto wrap, which I soon found had no pesto in it. I didn't even bother sending it back. I normally don't make reviews for this place because every time my girlfriend and I stop in, it's always delicious. Normally I don't order for pick up but occasionally I do. I want to say that the food that I received from ordering over the phone and picking it up from the restaurant is absolutely horrid. Every single time i order for pick up the food is always dry and just downright disgusting. The french fries always taste like they're weeks old. Always taste stale and dry to the point where you need a drink of water just to keep your mouth from drying. Also the burgers we ordered, also dry, came with no onions or sauce, as said on the menu. Stopped by here on a whim on the way to Natick, MA. Had the pastrami on rye, with the BEST potato salad I have ever had in a restaurant! Yummy! The pastrami was good, tender and not fatty. On the way BACK from Natick, we stopped back in again, This time I had the corned beef on rye,,,,even better than the pastrami! Good food, and great service! I actually eat here a lot. It's easy in and out for my family of 6. The food here is usually good and the service too. Had a real bad experience on 6/2/18. First we were seated with no crayons for my 4 kids. Kids need something to do while we wait for food. Our waitress got 4 out of the 7 orders wrong and had to keep making corrections. We asked to change stuffing to broccoli and were charged $2.00 to do so. ( mind you we were a party of sever with a bill that was going to be at least $100.) on top of it all, the manager came over and asked how the meal was. We told him the problems and he did not even offer to adjust the bill or throw in a desert etc. I usually go to this place a few times a month.....think I need to find a new place. read more

I live on Long Island and I came here with my cousin. I had the seafood platter and he had the Monte Cristo. It was so delicious! They give you HUGE plates and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was Frankie from the Bronx :). She was such a pleasure and went beyond our expectations to make sure we were happy. I wanted a garlicky sauce on my dish and it really was out of this world. You must try this place. It does get busy but we didn't wait long for our food and Frankie brought us bread that was fresh out the oven. We were also seated immediately. I highly recommend this restaurant. We were driving through and stopped here for lunch. I had the grilled cheese sandwich. The coleslaw and pickle came out first as if it was an appetizer not a side dish. The grilled cheese was fine. It was a grilled cheese, if they screwed up that up, that would be sad. My friend had the the chicken salad sandwich was not good. She did not finish it. I travel to the Fishkill area on business regularly (2-3 times per month), and I always eat here when I'm in the area because I enjoy it so much. I eat at a lot of diners, and the Red Line is definitely on the upscale end. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the restaurant is always clean. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. My favorite waitress is Elizabeth--she's always positive and energetic and does a great job of balancing her many customers. I once asked her why the place is always so packed (their parking lot and dining room always seem to be busier than other local diners and restaurants), and she said it's because they make everything from scratch, even the bread they put on the table with meals. Highlights for me include the giant pancakes at breakfast, the chicken chipotle sandwich for lunch, and the enormous chicken walnut salad for dinner. And their desserts are to die for--I've brought home a slice of their carrot cake cheesecake and shared it with my wife and daughter, and it was enough to satisfy three of us. After eating here many times the staff recognizes me and treats me like a friend, so it's always nice to eat here. read more
