A Great Breakfast and Lunch menu. We've had every item on the menu and it's all good. I like that the menus have just enough items on it too. I've brought friends there who've never been and they love it. It's really quaint with great decor with a nice view of the small planes and jets that come in too. Grandkids love it. Paula and her staff are very personable. Dinner menu is great as well. It's a Good experience, never feel rushed at all. Weekends have some great music in the evenings. They took forever to clean a table for seating so we just walked out. I don't like being ignored. It's also cramped with poor views of the runway. Also, maybe I'm crazy but a restaurant whose main appeal is watching planes should at least offer some outdoor seating. read more

My family and I decided to finally visit Paula's for breakfast and we were very happy that we did. The food was delicious and good portions. Friendly staff and great service. The atmosphere was relaxed and the views of the runway where planes were landing and taking off was indeed a plus. Overall wonderful experience and a true gem. We had some time to use up so we decided to stop in for a bite. I'm so glad we did! Paula's has a diner vibe with a nicely decorated restaurant style. Anytime I feel sad or have to go through Poughkeepsie I try to visit this place. This place isn't just a cafe/restaurant. This place has more life than any place I have ever eaten at. Menu is simple but the options are quality. Most lf the time I come in there is some kind of performance or music and Paula herself is very friendly. I tried Paula's for the first time during an organized group dinner. It's a cute little restaurant with aviation themed decor. Big bar on one side with high tops, tables on the other side, and a nice view of the runway. We did have a special menu, but I saw some similarities to the regular menu. We started with the pretzels and dumplings, which were fantastic. Both of those appetizers are well worth it and delicious. For our main course we could choose off a special menu. I chose the steak. It was not well seasoned, was very chewy, and I didn't really enjoy it. Someone in our party got the fish and chips, which they loved. Someone else got the chicken breast, which they thought was very mediocre. The dessert was a torte. The server announced that the ice cream had melted so we had some kind of whipped cream instead. It was OK. For my first visit, I thought Paula's was very mediocre. I would not go out of my way to visit again. I think it is convenient if you are in the neighborhood or at that airport. read more

Excellent breakfast and friendly service. I was looking for a great place to sit and have breakfast while in town and struck gold. This is not a pretentious place. So if you're looking for breakfast fads, keep moving. This is a grown up breakfast and a place filled with regulars. Surprised to find I was going into an air field for those place but once we got in the place was perfect for a restaurant. From the window you could see planes coming in and out (great for kids, also they provide crayons and paper). Food was great. 7.50 for a bfast sandwich, 12.50 or so for 3 dish sized pancakes which comes with a size of bfast meat of choice. Kind staff and patrons. If you at the Hyatt or Holiday Inn Poughkeepsie, make the 10 minute drive. read more

I went to watch my grandson perform at: open mic night. Everyone was so friendly. I had more fun than i've had in decades!! Great food, great drinks. Food service not so great as we were sitting outside the main dining room - had to wait an hour for a drink. Will go earlier next time! read more

I went there with my daughter before an appointment. My daughter was standing outside finishing a phone call and went inside to get us a table and possibly order. The only girl that was working stared at me and I smiled. She asked how many and I said 2. She told me to find a two table. The only one was right center of the floor. I sat about 10 minutes while she took care of everyone else. I stood up and grabbed a menu off the bar. My daughter came in and asked how it was going. I told her the only words she said to me since I sat down was 'I'll get to you'. We sat another 10 minutes while she was still taking care of, I don't know what. Refilling coffee on some tables. A check for another one. My daughter raised her hand like in school and the girl said 'I'm alone, I'll get to you when I can'. I looked at my daughter and said nope. I'm out. I love the idea of the cafe at the airport. I'm in Aviation and love watching the planes. I've also owned a restaurant before. I probably would have fired my employee for treating new customers so poorly. I will not go back and I will pass along to my other friends in aviation how poorly we were treated. read more

8 people for brunch last Sunday around 11am. Made a reservation the day before via phone. No wait at all, love the vibe there. Super chill and family friendly vibe inside the Hudson Valley Regional Airport. Fun place to take kids. The kids both received paper and crayons which kept them busy while waiting for the food. Waitress was extremely accommodating and had time for us as brunch can be overwhelming, not for her. Everyone enjoyed their meals. You must try the sweet potato fries! Delicious, but not sweet. I always get the Ruben. Live music playing in the lobby, but we were still able to converse. Overall a great experience and meal for any age. read more

I wanted to order something quick for breakfast and decided to give Paula's a try. I pass by it every so often and never got food from here. When browsing the menu, it wasn't huge and overwhelming but included your staples. I ordered a mushroom omelette and really wanted to enjoy it more than I did. It just lacked flavor and I felt underwhelmed. I did enjoy the hash browns and that was probably my favorite part. I loved the crisp edges and all hash browns should be made like that. The portion was pretty standard and I'm not sure that I'd order food here again. Maybe I'd give it a try for lunch. read more

The space is small and cute. Airplane and aviation theme. Interesting scenery outside. Cool to watch planes land and take off. My husbands Reuben was delicious! My breakfast was okay. The "hash browns" lacked seasoning and needed a lot of salt. And I don't typically add salt to my food. The sourdough bread was good. The coffee was okay, but hoped for better since it is a breakfast spot. The staff was kind, but they seemed very frazzled and it was nearly impossible to flag someone down. read more

This morning I decided to visit Paula's Runway Cafe as a change of pace for breakfast.. I arrived around 9:30-10A on a Saturday and the dining room was fairly busy.. a good sign. The restaurant is warmly appointed with a very cozy feeling.. very inviting. I was quickly greeted by the very pleasant wait staff and decided to sit at the "bar" counter since I was solo. After a few minutes, a waitress handed me menus for specials and breakfast then took my drink order, coffee black. This took more than 10 minutes, although in fairness they were busy. No problem, I wasn't in a rush. Feeling hungry, I decided on the Breakfast Bowl, $15. My order arrived roughly 20mins later.. The presentation was very appealing. Although a bit skimpy for the price. Home fries, two eggs scrambled, salsa, black beans, a few small slices of avocado, and two pieces of crispy bacon with a bit of grated cheese over the top. While this looked delicious, it was served lukewarm at best. This clearly waited in the pass for a bit as the potatoes were barely warm with the cheese cool and congealed. Realizing this came without toast (did I mention I was hungry?) I asked for a side order of whole wheat toast.. no problem. A few minutes later, a single slice of dry, whole-wheat toast arrived on a plate. No butter.. no jam.. a single slice. Huh? I caught the attention of the waitress (who was great), asked for some butter, and if an order was supposed to be one slice. She seemed to imply yes, but very quickly offered a second slice, which arrived a few minutes later. I was offered a refill for my coffee, but I think it was lost in the bustle. Oh well.. Paula's was an ok breakfast, if not a bit pricey at $21. I usually give a restaurant two or three tries before reserving judgement, so maybe a lunch will be better. I've had more hearty breakfasts for less at The Inn at the Falls Diner, Palace Diner and the 84. Admittedly this was tasty (and would have been better if it was at temperature), but fairly pricey for the portion. read more

We went between breakfast and dinner, around 2:00. The selection was very limited and the food was only fair and not cheap. Waitstaff seemed to be more interested in conversing with themselves. I thought it would be a fun place to take my two grandkids but it was dead. read more

Delicious food, amazing staff, and fun views of the runway... Hidden gem usually filled with locals because it really is that good. Their food is always fresh and tastes like home. I would seriously highly recommend their reuben and pair it with sweet potato fries because it is the absolute BEST around. Cute decor that is aviation themed which matches their location. My kids love going so they can watch the planes land and take off. Noise is NOT an issue by any means. If you do decide to visit on the weekend for breakfast, go early as you may have to wait. Was excited to finally try Paula's. Saturday lunch. Really cute little place. Wanted the steak Caesar salad but they had no steak. Got the Rachel. Turkey was very dry and sandwich was bland even with the small amount of slaw on it. Sweet potato fries were delicious!! I asked for thousand island dressing so that helped a little. One of my guests ordered just corn beef on rye but asked to have it steamed not fried. The waitress assured it could be done. Sandwich came out fried. She brought it back to the kitchen and we asked just for turkey this time. Plain turkey on non toasted rye. The rest of us were all done eating by the time it came out. Fries followed 10 mins later. Pancakes were ordered by my other guest and she enjoyed them. No one came over offing more coffee which was a bummer. Disappointed by the lack of apologies by the server. Food isn't cheap these days and I understand mistakes happen so it's important the server communicates with the customer when there is a problem. If anything she avoided our table. I always like to give places another shot, I probably will with Paula's. read more

Food was very good, my wife got the eggs Benedict, I got an Bacon, egg and cheese on sour dough bread. The sour dough bread was excellent, the eggs Benedict was very good served on a fresh made biscuit. There was a few mistakes in the order, but the service was friendly and tentative. We flew in for a late lunch. They were closing in 20 min but set us up with to go ware and we ate at a table in the lobby. They were set up for COVID. I had potato bacon soup which was hearty creamy and delicious! My friend ordered the breakfast burrito which was plentiful and she raved about it- they used chorizo! I would def go back! read more

The amount of meat on my breakfast sandwich was more than sufficient. The fact that mozzarella was used on a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was confusing and unwelcome but I'm sure someone else may have been pleasantly surprised. The service was standard. The atmosphere was unique. read more

This little cafe inside County airport doesn't look like much. In fact you'd probably miss it if you weren't specifically looking for it. But it's a great, great breakfast place. Good ambiance - watch planes land and takeoff while dining. Great service - by everyone from busboy to server to owner. Yep, Paula comes by to say hello and make sure all is well. Price - very reasonable. Food - excellent though admittedly I was there for only breakfast. Everything was made according to specifications and the home fries were probably the best I ever had. You will smile just going into a "classic" main stay of Dutchess County, the regional airport. Paula's Runway is new, different and will make you happy. We are not the family that goes "out" to eat breakfast often..... with a toddler, it's easier to eat at home most times ! We decided to give this spot a try because we knew our daughter would love the planes.....and she did! To our surprise , We found our new favorite breakfast spot! They were busy , which was a little scary because with a child it's a "ticking time bomb" and we usually like to be quick as possible, but: - the waitstaff quickly sat us , and provided drinks and coloring supply's for my daughter. They instantly made us feel welcomed , she had more crayons then I think she has at home! - they took our order, from a menu that is perfect size for breakfast, not too many options , but all the classics and some unique options as well. - the food was not slow, but not 3 minutes like a diner would be - I wasn't keeping track, but I would say it took 10 -12 minutes or so from order to when the food hit our table. In the meantime, we were brought some homemade banana bread that was amazing ! - food arrives , wife got eggs Benedict , which she said was delicious, and I got classic scrambled eggs and bacon - some of the best I can remember having.
