    Chicken Club with House-cut Fries
    Jim P.

Melzingah Tap House is an awesome place to get lunch and a beer (or three). The service was great. They gave an extensive selection of draft beer. The chicken club was very tasty, as were the house cut fries. Lots of exposed brick throughout the restaurant, giving it a very cool interior.

Short rib French onion soup, pulled pork sandwich, side salads

Cute little neighborhood gastropub! We loved the pulled pork sandwich and mussels. It's slightly elevated bar food but it was yummy! The short rib French onion soup was unique and I recommend trying it or splitting it (the taste gets a bit much after a few bites). Service was solid. Ambiance was OK. Decor was cute. They did miss some ingredients in our mussels appetizer and it took awhile to get our food (even though it was not busy). I would recommend giving it a try!

I've been to this place twice. It has an outdoor seating area as well. There is a parking lot but it's quite small and will get packed quickly. As for the food, everything is really good! The service was pretty quick as well. I like coming here and I would definitely return and try other menu items. We tried the burgers on this visit, and they were delicious! The fries are also really good. My only complaint is that the ketchup is brought out in a small serving cup, so we did have to keep asking for additional ketchup.

This is a nice spot on Main Street. We had a reservation, and good thing we did because it was packed. The service, however, didn't make you think it was a full house. They were very attentive and kind. The place has a nice vibe to it, the cute lights give it a nice intimate feel. The food is very good. Certainly a good spot to grab a bite and drink!

Melzingah Tap House is a cute date night spot in Beacon - good bites and drinks all around. Service was friendly and food was decent. You definitely pay New York City prices here. Cocktails were okay but could have used a bit more alcohol. For an appetizer we got the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and it was massive! It comes with four pieces and they could have cut down the rice part a bit. The Chicken + Dumplings were very good - very homey, comforting taste. On the specials was the Lamb Ragu Garganelli - this was a hearty ragu that tasted great! Overall a solid spot for dinner in Beacon.

Always a crowd pleaser. Whether I'm looking to entertain visitors or to do happy hour/dinner, melzingah is always a winner. There's plenty of cocktails (zero proof options too), beer and wine options and the food never disappoints. The pretzel bites, macaroni + cheese and wings are my favorite go-to appetizers. Reservations recommended. It gets busy, especially given the prime location to Beacon's waterfalls. If you can snag a seat at the bar, that's a great spot to sit and dine. They also have outdoor covered dinning which is great for all seasons.

    BLT w/ truffle fries

I found myself at Melzingah Tap House with one of my college friends for lunch and to catch up. We hadn't seen each other in years and this seemed like a great place to reunite and grab a bite. That being said, we booked an afternoon slot and made our way. The last time I was in Beacon was roughly 10 years ago, and wow it has changed a lot - so many cute shops and eateries along the main strip. I heard property prices have soared up here and I totally believe it. Melzingah definitely fits well into this - as the aesthetics fit the classic design of the area while still having a contemporary feel. The dining room is moderately sized with that aesthetic you find in most modern eateries that popped up in the 2010s. The menu is American fare - mostly apps, salads, and sandwiches with some mains. Since they are a tap house, they have a good variety of beer as well as some cocktails. I decided to start with one of their cocktails which was quite good - the temperatures were reaching 60 outside so I was manifesting Spring and got one of their lighter choices. I was feeling a sandwich so I went with that for my actual lunch - the BLT was speaking to me firstly because it's a BLT, but secondly because they used arugula for the L, added an aioli, and served it on a baguette. The sandwich was really tasty - the helping of bacon was generous but not overly salty and the baguette was substantial enough to hold the sandwich together without being too hard. The sandwich came with fries as a standard but I decided to get truffle fries instead - I'm not sure where the truffle was in these because it just looked like they were topped with grated cheese? Unless the truffle was in the cheese? I'm not sure, I couldn't taste any truffle. Service was good, food came out at a good pace and all the staff were friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at Melzingah - the food was great, as was the service and the company. I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I find myself up in Beacon.

Bass, peanut noodles with chicken, stone fruit and burrata
    Cherie R.

Not what you'd expect from a normal tap house! Yes they had a great selection of beers and food, but they also had some extra items - like peanut noodles salad and stone fruit and burrata. We LOVED both dishes. The peanut noodle salad was perfect since it was cold and we were eating outside. Loved the flavors, the different types of mushrooms and edamame were yummy. Chicken was grilled perfectly. We sat out on the patio, which is probably nice on a cooler day, but it was VERY hot. I also got eaten alive by bugs. Overall it was yummy food but next time I'd probably want to sit inside lol

Stopped by for brunch this afternoon during my day trip to beacon and can honestly say this place has such a lovely vibe. From the industrial decor, to the solid menu featuring breakfast boards and brunch staples like French toast and frittata - you'll leave here feeling full and ready to explore the town. Ordered a shareable appetizer, the avocado toast board and paired it with the steak and eggs as my main. The avocado toast was good but not great. The steak and eggs hit the mark for me. It came with tomato-y home fries and arugula salad that really brought the whole dish to life. The service is super friendly and down to earth as well. Could see myself coming back here next time I'm in the area.

What a lovely place to stop for lunch in Beacon NY. Fabulous bar, beer and food scene in this little eatery off Main St. The cocktails are excellent, beer selection impressive and some good food to match. We had the hummus and pita with our drinks. We then shared the watermelon salad with salmon. Great flavors and very satisfying lunch on our road trip in the NY Hudson Valley. Service was good, chill place.

We've been to Melzingah a number of times and always enjoy it. Their dining room is cozy but lively. It can be pretty loud when it's busy (which is often), but they have a good sized covered and heated outdoor tent that's quieter if the noise level will bother you. We always end up ordering something different than the last time we were there, but I've really enjoyed their specials and fried chicken sandwich in the past. This time I got pasta which was great. The pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband got the massive bone in pork schnitzel which was fabulous. Crispy and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommended. Service is always excellent as well, whether you're inside or out. The space is quite small with quite a few high top seats, so if you have any mobility concerns it may be a little challenging. The outdoor area is probably easier. There is also only one van accessible parking spot as it's a small parking lot.

Came here on a Monday. Got sat right away inside. If you want to plan to sit in the outside area, call ahead and rsvp. Had some bar bites that were both delicious and filling. Can never go wrong with the buffalo wings! Cooked perfect. The pretzel bite were so good with the cheese dip. Had lunch Maine beer a 7% IPA which paired well. The hostess was super nice. She almost sold me on the Twix cheesecake but I was super full. Next time!

It may sound cheesy but it describes exactly the atmosphere of this place, a good time full of friendly people. It's a 2 two story building with plenty of seating. I have been here many a time where the upstairs is rented out for a private event. They also have two outside decks full of tables and chairs which is perfect to sit at when the weather is nice. And trust me when the weather is nice this place is packed!!!! The food here is delicious. In the warmer months they have a pizza food truck that comes. The pizza is sooo good my favorite is one they sell that has a white sauce on it instead of marinara it is delicious. The brewery itself makes small bites and has a few sandwiches that come with a bag of potato chips. They are also good. Last time we came our friends got the meatball sub and it was huge!!! They said it was amazing. They have a great selection of beers including IPAs, Stouts, Sours, and Ciders. I will say this brewery is what kindled my love for Sour beers. They have one that tastes like a red Starburst, so yummy! They also have non alcoholic beer and spirits on their menu. The staff is also friendly. I have seen them frazzled a time or two when it's really busy which is understandable. All in all it's good service both bar tenders and other staff that is working hard cleaning up tables ams sweeping to make sure the tables are ready for the next round of people. Also to note this is not table service. You go to the bar and order your food and either pay there or open a tab. They then bring out your food to you. You can also get beers to take home and other merchandise such as shirts, jackets, and some packaged food items. It very family friendly! Every time I come I see tons of families here, which is nice. Oh and the last thing to note the bathrooms are always clean!!! Which is something I really appreciate about any place that is serving food and drinks.

What makes this establishment so memorable and so sought after? Let me count thy ways. Hudson Valley awaits at the end of Beacon's Main Street, a fitting finale to a day spent ducking in and out of shops. Its wide open spaces and available sitting is a welcome sight for sore feet. Its diverse array of drinks, from wines to beers to sours, will quench any type of thirst. My drink of choice are their sours, and as someone who previously did not like these kinds of drinks, I was thoroughly converted. Perfect for people who don't like beers, their sours are berry-forward with a tartness that cuts through the sweet flavors. It's so good, I even lugged a six-pack home all the way to the train and back to the city! You simply cannot visit Hudson Valley Brewery without trying their pizza. It's one of my favorites. Cooked in an outdoor brick oven, their pizzas are charred to perfection; their crust thin yet provides a satisfying substantial bite; and their pie topped with ooey gooey cheese. Although I don't doubt that anything you order will be delicious, I have tried their sausage and pepper pizza, as well as their margherita, and can attest to how delicious they are. If you're visiting Beacon, end your day here at Hudson Valley Brewery. It's the ideal last stop.

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
