    Hazy ipa and sangria
    Kara S.

Cute little brewery in Beacon! Asked the beertender to surprise me and got their popular hazy which did not disappoint. My friend got their sangria which was fresh, tasty and great for a hot summer day. They have card and board games to play on all tables, plenty of seating inside and outside and a mini basketball toss game in the back! Plus the bathrooms were very clean-- very important.

If you can handles the crowds and nonsense of Main Street Beacon, this is a cool little gem of a brewery. We got here early (like, right when they opened to avoid the crowds) and got a couple of 4oz pours of their Octoberfest-ish beers. Good stuff.

Spacious beer garden type place Love the games they had on all the tables at your disposal while you sipped some delicious Beer Provided sample at the beacon crawl Event recently done. Very friendly staff and place seemed pretty cool and lucky we went early because by the time the event was midway this place was crowded

    4oz pours

We sampled nearly all the beers and they were all winners. Each one was more delicious than the other. Nice open space in a very laid back no frills vibe. Good for a Saturday afternoon hangout. Owner was friendly and welcoming!

It may sound cheesy but it describes exactly the atmosphere of this place, a good time full of friendly people. It's a 2 two story building with plenty of seating. I have been here many a time where the upstairs is rented out for a private event. They also have two outside decks full of tables and chairs which is perfect to sit at when the weather is nice. And trust me when the weather is nice this place is packed!!!! The food here is delicious. In the warmer months they have a pizza food truck that comes. The pizza is sooo good my favorite is one they sell that has a white sauce on it instead of marinara it is delicious. The brewery itself makes small bites and has a few sandwiches that come with a bag of potato chips. They are also good. Last time we came our friends got the meatball sub and it was huge!!! They said it was amazing. They have a great selection of beers including IPAs, Stouts, Sours, and Ciders. I will say this brewery is what kindled my love for Sour beers. They have one that tastes like a red Starburst, so yummy! They also have non alcoholic beer and spirits on their menu. The staff is also friendly. I have seen them frazzled a time or two when it's really busy which is understandable. All in all it's good service both bar tenders and other staff that is working hard cleaning up tables ams sweeping to make sure the tables are ready for the next round of people. Also to note this is not table service. You go to the bar and order your food and either pay there or open a tab. They then bring out your food to you. You can also get beers to take home and other merchandise such as shirts, jackets, and some packaged food items. It very family friendly! Every time I come I see tons of families here, which is nice. Oh and the last thing to note the bathrooms are always clean!!! Which is something I really appreciate about any place that is serving food and drinks.

What makes this establishment so memorable and so sought after? Let me count thy ways. Hudson Valley awaits at the end of Beacon's Main Street, a fitting finale to a day spent ducking in and out of shops. Its wide open spaces and available sitting is a welcome sight for sore feet. Its diverse array of drinks, from wines to beers to sours, will quench any type of thirst. My drink of choice are their sours, and as someone who previously did not like these kinds of drinks, I was thoroughly converted. Perfect for people who don't like beers, their sours are berry-forward with a tartness that cuts through the sweet flavors. It's so good, I even lugged a six-pack home all the way to the train and back to the city! You simply cannot visit Hudson Valley Brewery without trying their pizza. It's one of my favorites. Cooked in an outdoor brick oven, their pizzas are charred to perfection; their crust thin yet provides a satisfying substantial bite; and their pie topped with ooey gooey cheese. Although I don't doubt that anything you order will be delicious, I have tried their sausage and pepper pizza, as well as their margherita, and can attest to how delicious they are. If you're visiting Beacon, end your day here at Hudson Valley Brewery. It's the ideal last stop.

A real bourbon aficianado friend of mine from out of town, after tasting it, looked at me shocked and wanted to know where the heck it came from!!! Also, the Friday Happy Hour at Denning's is a real treat. The prices are very, very Happy Hour-esque and even if you hang for a while after you're not going to get murdered like you would other places in town. Alana (their amazing bartender) mixes great drinks, all featuring Denning's booze. Amy, the hostess (who mans the tasting room) is as welcoming and nice as they come. The room has its charms! It is a distillery, not a super high style bar though. So set your expectations accordingly. But I am a big fan and you will find me here with regularity as I roam the streets of town. Worth a quick detour off Main if you are an out of towner for sure.

The place was empty at one point and would have been nice to have a welcoming face when come in into the Tasting room. Later on I wanted to purchase something and taste some of the liquor which she offered very nicely! I think is important for them to show that the tasting IS NOT FREE, you get 3 shots of your choice for $5 (which is a pretty's reasonable price in my opinion) if you buy something the tasting is free tho. First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
