    Sweater Weather Spritz

Def the people's choice by the amount of foot work this spot gets, there's a little wait but worth it. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with a side of regular fries and a cocktail. Everything was very tasty and made quick. The "Sweater Weather Spritz" drink was hitting. With a few places in the same area to eat, glad I stopped in.

This is in my unprofessional/professional opinion the best cocktail spot in beacon. It's probably the cheapest in terms of prices, but in terms of quality, taste, and creativity, it beats all the places in beacon.

We came on a whim while driving around the area antiquing. We were able to snag a couple seats at the bar, as they were quite busy at peak lunchtime on a Sunday. We got a double dutch, crispy chicken sandwich, and fries. To drink, I tried a seasonal gin cocktail. The cocktail was well balanced and refreshing. The burger and chicken sandwiches were tasty and messy due to the large size and generous toppings. Chicken was extra crispy. Fries were seasoned well and even better with fry sauce. Food came out pretty quickly - they were pumping food out of the kitchen. Bartenders were sociable and gave off good vibes.

This place is AWESOME. The vibes are so cool, staff is super friendly, and the food is awesome. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had and the dirty fries were incredible (love the pimento cheese). We're not from the area but I'd make a detour to come back here more often!

I love how they have an outdoor area! Indoors is pretty cool also. Great options for some brews and amazing burger sauce.

Maybe it was the 4 hour hike talking but this was an EXTREMELY GOOD burger!!! Every component was spot on - pillowy bun, stretchy cheese, perfectly cooked burger, grilled onion, and for once - not too salty! But honestly, the burger wasn't even the star of the show, the fries SLAPPED!!! My friend said it might've been the best fries she's ever had???? They had a slight crunch and soft interior and were thicker which gave them some depth. Thisnis a must try spot in beacon!!!

I first saw this place on social media and was enticed to go as I was going to be in Beacon. I would not have time to dine in so I placed an online order for pickup. When doing so they gave an address of X, Yet when I went to X, there was a sign telling me that they were relocated to Y. Something you'd think they'd tell you on the order or confirmation pages... Anyway, I walk in to Y to pick up my order and since it's food, I figure I'll wash my hands. NOPE. The hipster behind the counter quips "no public restrooms. The space they're in is pretty small but it does have a number of eat-in counter style seats which I didn't know you could have without a restroom. I wonder if this is up to code? Anyway, the burger tested pretty good but was a bit greasy and messy to consume. My wife wanted the chicken fingers which were underwhelmingly thin making them more breading then chicken. They also carried some odd deasoning I couldn't place - it was like a cross between old bay and Chinese 5-spice powder. The sweet potatoe fries were tasty but again cut very thin and like the chicken fingers waaaaay too salty. End result: Skip MOD. Maybe I'll give it another try once they're in a real space, but even then I'm interested by the atmosphere and libations - both of which were non-existent in this location. Date of my visit 1/27/25.

AMAZING AND DELICIOUS!!! Couldn't be happier with this place, I yelped the place before going to Beacon and was dying to try and it definitely didn't disappoint! The burguer was so filling and delicious, the service was quick and something that I love is that they bring it to your table according to your order number! The ambiance is great, so many people enjoing themselves, inside or outside, I loved it! Very recommended and also let me mention that the bathrooms and tables were very clean something that sometimes we forget to rate !!

We visited this place for its rave reviews on burgers & decided to see what the hype was about. I ordered the crispy chicken burger with fries, potato fries, and pickles. The chicken burger was incredibly delicious and perfectly crispy--absolutely living up to its reputation! While the fries were slightly on the salty side, it paired well with the burger. Indoor seating is a bit limited, and it was quite busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, but there's additional seating available in the backyard. This spot is definitely a must-try!

Super friendly staff, I heard they had the best burgers and so we tried it for my son's bday. I really liked they have outside seating in the back, free refills (can't be that!). They have something for everyone in the menu and I'm looking forward to our next visit.

True to the yelp rating, this is a solid burger joint in Beacon. If you are in tje area definitely come check it out. Cute ambiance, despite the long line dont worry about not getting a seat once you place ur order thwre is still sufficient time to find seatin bwfore ur food arrives. The food is tasty and filling. The burgers are flavorful and has a nice crust. The single is more thank enough unless you have a suoer big appetite. The double fried fries are a good complement tonthe burger. The fry sauce is to die for. So tasty goes well w thw burger and the fries amd every thing else. The citrus seltzer was good. Made with fresh lime snd lemon juice i think. Not overly sweet. You shpuld definitely swing by when in the area!

We stopped in for dinner last night and it was the best decision ever. The gentleman that took our order could not have been nicer. He made a great beer recommendation to accompany my burger. I had the single dutch (pictured) and a side of fries. My friend had the steak burger on special. I can't imagine how big the double dutch would have been! The double fried fries were spot on and seasoned with salt and pepper and SO SO good. The burger was perfect. I asked for no onions since they were raw and he offered grilled onions instead which I got and it was perfect. We ate at the table out front to people watch but there was also a nice patio with cool lights at dark out back. I would 100% recommend this spot. GREAT fresh food and very friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere.

Double Dutch Burger is the one to be written as delicious.

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

We shared the Butter and Blue salad, really well done. The fusilli Ferretto with lamb ragu was one of the best meals I've had in months. The homemade pasta was al dente and the lamb ragu was fragrant and meaty and rich. Perfect on a particularly cold evening. Liz had the sea bass and raved about it. We shared a bottle of Madonna Dell Donno Barolo wine which was probably not the best choice for the sea bass but was an outstanding match for the lamb ragu. The cocktails and dessert were also perfectly done!

On a trip to Colorado, Kihlmire visited a shop that featured an abundance of books and records. He came up with an idea to open a similar shop that would also feature craft beer. Kihlmire initially opened The Vinyl Room by himself in Wappingers Falls. In addition to beer, records, and video games, customers could also enjoy pizza by ordering it through a special window that connected to the Wagon Wheel next door. Although the concept was well-received, the small space and constraints from the landlord limited the full potential of the business. In July 2021, it moved to a new space at 344 Main Street in Beacon. Customers could order food from Roma Nova across the street. Unfortunately, the space was still too small and the owners received numerous noise complaints from apartment tenants upstairs. In August 2023, The Vinyl Room moved down the street to 393 Main Street to their third (and hopefully forever) location. For the latest version of the business, childhood friend Kane Licari came on board as a partner. This also marks the first time that The Vinyl Room features a kitchen with their own food. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, rice bowls, tacos, wings, and various bar bites. In addition to craft beer, the bar also serves wine, craft cocktails, and mocktails. I recently visited The Vinyl Room for lunch with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. Any place that features craft beer, records, and classic arcade cabinets sounds like Heaven to someone like me. I really liked the whole vibe of the interior with the industrial design and all of the pop culture and music references. My sons and I grabbed a booth and looked over the menu. For food, I had the "Crunchy Chicken Bowl" (sushi rice, pickled onions, avocado, arugula, charred corn, chili garlic crunch, creamy garlic sauce), my older son had the "Grilled Cheese" (Vermont white cheddar, havarti, slow roasted onions, roasted garlic butter, sourdough), and my younger son had the "Return of The Mac" (smoked gouda Vermont cheddar cream, buttery breadcrumbs). We were all very happy with our choices! To drink, I had a draught pour of Upward Brewing's "Summer Camp" (Helles Lager). After finishing our delicious meal, I scrolled through the impressive record collection. Then we all headed downstairs to have a blast in the arcade. Before leaving, I enjoyed a pour of Equilibrium Brewery's "Tidal Balance" (Double IPA; collab w/ Sand City Brewing). We all had such a fun experience at The Vinyl Room and we hope to return in the future!

Others were ahead of me, so I patiently waited to order: Tripple Smash Burger, Honey Buffalo Salad, Purple Rain (2), Diet Coke. I paid at the bar, served the drinks and waited for our food. The music was 80's MTV Themed {Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Bruuuce, Billy Idol}. Jenga, Horrible Couple and Cards Against Humanity were on the tables to pass the time. Or flip through the many records available for purchase until the food arrives. The salad was large in size and very good. Been a while since I had a burger, and this filled the void. Fries were not that hot, but we ate them anyway. Afterwards, we went downstairs and played some old school arcade games and then headed out. Upon leaving we saw someone was having a birthday party, which was nice to see. I'm sure in the summer this place gets packed. They also have a selection of draught beer (The proper way to spell it). Good choice for food, although it wasn't cheap. Bill w/tip was $100. I think having a server on staff for all hours would be a good decision for TVR to make, in order to TCB !

We were seated right by the window and it has a lovely view. Generally speaking, the ambience is really nice. All of the staff was very nice and attentive. We did have a newer server who seemed a little bit nervous and less familiar with the menu than you might want, but she was very nice and we have no complaints about the actual service. We split a half bottle of wine, which was a nice option since we didn't want a full bottle. We started with the French baguette, the brussels sprouts, and the whipped ricotta. The brussels sprouts were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop going back to them. The whipped ricotta was also really interesting and the flavors were amazing. What was really disappointing was the baguette. When I think baguette, I think crusty, hot, out of the oven. The texture of the baguette was weird because it almost had more of a pretzel like exterior that was chewy and not crispy. For mains, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the cassoulet. The sandwich was kind of a letdown. The flavors were all nice, but there was no textural difference. The bun was a little too big for the sandwich, the avocado, and the other toppings, just all kind of mushed into each other. It was perfectly enjoyable, but just nothing to write home about. The cassoulet was very good. There was a nice depth of flavor and smokiness to the meat. Overall, no complaints. It did seem as though our mains probably sat under a heat lamp. My guess is that because we were still working on the appetizers they did not want us to feel rushed, but with this kind of meal and the price point, they should do a better job pacing, or they should just bring the food out when it comes out. I would rather have the fresh hot food out of the kitchen, than have it sitting under a heat lamp. Overall, the meal was lovely. There were a lot of really high points. There were also some disappointing parts of the meal. Given the price point and the feel of the round house, the few missteps hit a little bit harder. But we would absolutely come back again. It was an overall very nice experience and we enjoyed our ourselves.

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
