Well..... I used to come here quite a bit, but after today's visit while returning about 50 bottles/cans, I'll never be back. And I spend quite a bit of money each month in craft beer. Whenever I bring back cans and bottles, I ALWAYS purchase more suds while I'm there. I honestly don't care about the deposit rebates that much, but I'm big on recycling/reusing just about everything, plus it gives me a good excuse to go buy more beer! So, I'm wearing my nice office attire, and I bring my bag of returnables to the back, and as I was quietly mumbling the count to myself under my breath, the guy taking them from me says in a serious tone "Can you not count them out loud like that because it screws up my count?". When I looked up at him, he's got this super-serious look on his face, like he's really annoyed at me. I replied jokingly "Seriously? What - you don't trust my count?" (some people can't walk and chew gum at the same time) Based upon how he treated me, he apparently doesn't have a sense of humor, either. Then he says to me "Well, unfortunately, we can't trust the customers counting their own." 'Really buddy?' I thinking. I'm standing right here in front of you, taking them out one by one, and you don't trust me???. How much money are we talking about here, anyway, at 5 cents each for about 50 cans? Yeah, I get it.... it all adds up, but that's not the point. So, when I'm done, I count 51. I know my count is correct. He rejects 9 of them, saying they don't sell them (even though I know for a FACT that I had purchased the Rushing Duck there). He then gives me a slip for 39 returns. Wrong. You do the math. (Hmmmmm.... who is stiffing WHO here, buddy?). I said to him "Um, there is a discrepancy in our count, but that's OK, I'm not going to be a jerk over 10-15 CENTS!" (like you are). He didn't even reply. They're worried about the customer ripping them off, but in my case, they stole from me. And so, for the first time ever, I decided not to purchase anything, following a bottle return visit. When I went up to the counter, I said to the female clerk as I gave her my $-deficient slip, "I would have purchased something, but based upon the way I was treated back there, I changed my mind."
