I was visiting my friend in Beacon and we decided to come here to grab brunch. The place itself is pretty small - don't recommend coming with a large group but we were able to snag a seat inside without really waiting. There was actually a good amount of items on the menu which I was surprised about but everything sounded really good. My friend went with with the veggie scramble and I went with the Hobo scramble. The portion size was really good and both dishes came with a side of toast. The food was delicious - the flavors amazing and they really loaded up on the fillings. It was such a perfect brunch meal on a rainy Sunday in beacon. I will say the service was a little on the slower side but they were pretty busy and they were super nice. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are visiting Beacon and are in the mood for brunch! read more

Came in on a Sunday at around 11:30am with a group of 7 and were told to wait a bit until our full party arrived, which is totally fine and understandable. When everyone arrived we all got seated inside and the vibes were immediately off. It took us over 10 min to even get our menus and we were just sitting there trying to flag someone down to help us while we saw a waitress giving menus out to folks just coming in. When we finally got her attention, she just told us "someone will bring it to you soon," when she literally could've just grabbed a few and hand them to us. At this point we were about to leave, but stayed because we were all starving. This happened throughout our meal, we had to ask for water and cups multiple times and even got dirty plates sent to us, which we then asked if we could get newer ones. Not sure if it was because we were the only POC in the room, but we felt like this treatment was targeted specifically at us since everyone else in the place was attended to in a timely, friendly manner. The food was okay and took a while to come out. I got the crab cake benedict and there wasn't much flavor to it. The potatoes were also soggy. The saving grace was probably the banana foster french toast. Overall, we definitely felt unwanted there and would not return solely because of the service. read more

We visited Beacon Falls Café on Friday, October 3rd. From what I could find, it was one of the only brunch spots open on a Friday that also serves Bloody Marys, beer, and mimosas. The food was very good, and the atmosphere is charming, the screen door alone adds a unique, nostalgic touch you don't see often anymore. Service was friendly but a bit on the slow side, which I'm guessing was due to being understaffed that day. Honestly, I would have given five stars if the service had been a little more attentive. Overall, keep it up. With just a bit more focus on tightening the service, this place could easily become the top-rated breakfast-and-lunch spot (with alcohol) in the area. read more

First I like to a give shout to the service, the waitress here was very nice and polite, really made you feel welcomed here, plus I did a see a old women with her dog wonder in to order take out, not only did waitress say the place is pet friendly, she took the women to go order and offered her dog a doggy treat, it was really sweet to see. The place has a home vibe like eating a dining room at your home. So for the food, I got the peri peri chicken skewers and they really good, chicken was moist,tender and very spicy , I wish the skewers were bigger and I got more chicken. The arugula salad underneath was alright, but I had to use the tzatziki sauce as dressing and wish more smooth the chunky as sauce for that reason. The basket of house fries were great, actually very crispy and lightly seasoned. A definite great first time here for lunch. read more

Decent little cafe in Beacon - the service, the food, the atmosphere - all just okay. I got an espresso martini to start and it could have been better. The Rhode Island Style Fried Calamari ($18) was pretty good - I have never tried Rhode Island style and I will say this is my new favorite. The cherry peppers and vinegar matched well with the crispy calamari. The Avocado BLT Panini ($17) was a bit underwhelming and there was too much bread. They have $5 mimosas though, so I finished a late lunch off with that! Overall, decent spot for food if you are hungry and looking to get out of the cold weather outside. read more

My friends and I came here for brunch and unfortunately had a pretty terrible experience. When we first checked in, we asked the host for a table for six and immediately got attitude. She told us they could do it but made it seem like it was an inconvenience. We let her know three of our group were still on the way and were told they wouldn't seat us until the entire party arrived. Once everyone got there (about 10 minutes later), we were finally seated...but things went downhill fast. We sat for another 10 minutes with no menus. We asked twice before anyone brought them over. Same issue with water: we watched every other table get water in proper glasses, but we had to ask multiple times and were eventually given disposable plastic cups. When plates came out, several were dirty and we had to ask for clean ones. Throughout the entire meal, service was extremely slow and it felt like we had to chase down staff for even the most basic things. The overall vibe was that they didn't really want us there. To make it worse, because we were a party of six, they automatically added a 20% gratuity...so we couldn't even adjust the tip to reflect the poor service. The only redeeming part of the experience was that the food itself was decent. But overall, the service was awful, and the way we were treated made the brunch feel uncomfortable and frustrating. read more

Really enjoyed Sunday brunch at BFC after a few hours being inspired by the art at Dia Beacon. Asked the hostess for her recommendation between crab cake poach or the big breakfast. Without hesitation she recommended the big breakfast, "it has a little bit of e'rything!". The pancake was PERFECT... crisp, cooked all the way through (great pancakes are not sponges or uncooked in the middle). Not sure if the eggs were real, but they were cooked soft as requested. We got raspberry mimosas which were good, a breakfast sandwich that had French toast as as the bread and a breakfast sandwich that had bacon waffles as the bread. Stopped here for a brunch and have been thinking about this place ever since! We had the Sicilian Baked Eggs and the Cannoli Cream Stuffed French Toast. The food was a 5/5 but did take a while to arrive. The waitress also didn't check on us more than twice (once to grab our order and second to bring us the check), but honestly, it was super busy so I don't blame her! The baked eggs gave us a shakshouka kinda vibe and was melt in your mouth good. The French toast was not overly sweet, which made it the perfect dish to end our brunch with. The cafe is located on the main strip in Beacon, NY which makes the ambiance of the restaurant pretty lively, but still quiet enough to have a normal conversation. Today my wife and I had brunch at the restaurant. We ordered two dishes and my wife requested for the eggs to be well done and for my mine to be medium rather than poached. Two very simple requests. The waitress told us the chef doesn't like substitutions and brought me my egg Benedict with a poached egg. My wife sent back hers and they brought back the same thing. We saw at least 3 tables of people arrive after us and get their food within 15 minutes of ordering, meanwhile a half an hour later we were still waiting (and getting "hangry" tbh). Finally I flagged down the waitress and asked if our food was coming, and she brusquely replied that it would be out soon. The food itself was good - the plates were big. I got a hungry man style breakfast, which came with a side of French toast, which was delicious. However, we had to eat quickly, pay, and rush out to make our next appointment. It's fine if they missed our order, but I wish they could have admitted that or at least let us know what happened. Other places might have even comped something. Went there for Saturday brunch. Clean, neat interior. The food was SO GOOD. The chocolate chip pancakes were sweet and filling, and I took them to go. The waitress came and she was very nice. Orders came quickly, despite having 3 other people with me. It was nice and it was half filled. They took our orders to heart. You couldn't have a side of scrambles eggs but they made it work. Cute little place with decent service and good food. I had a French Dip that was on the lunch specials menu yesterday. It was cheesey and awesome. They only have one entry door that opens right into the dining room, so I imagine that could lead to some really cold patrons on some cold winter days... and they got a wine delivery that came right through the dining room, which is a little tight. In NYC, restaurants have deliveries brought down into a basement, but that might not be a choice up in Beacon. Overall, good place. I would come back if I was local to Beacon! read more

I came here and the service was amazing. Brooke was great and very nice. We ordered the pitcher of passion fruit mimosa and it was good. My sister ordered one pancake as her side and that was delicious. I had the breakfast burrito and that was ok but I preferred my sister's pancake. I think there are other items on the menu which may have been better than the burrito I ordered. I would definitely come and yes I do recommend it and get the pancakes. Brough the family to brunch here. The staff were nice and helpful. The food was a little underwhelming but was tasty enough. The issue was a former or current employee came flouncing in like she owned the place. We were not bothered until she publicly demanded a new server, ranting that "was this a joke", running to the back room and shouting "I said what I said, anyone but her" loud enough that we could hear her from the front room. It is 2:20pm on a rainy, chilly Monday in Beacon and I intended to have a nice, warm meal at the Beacon Falls Cafe. Upon arriving at the restaurant (2:15pm) I read the hours on the door- open to 4pm. There are two tables that have customers already sitting at them in this small cafe. When I walked in as woman in the process of sweeping cheerfully tells me "oh, we're closing now." Confused, I asked what the time was and she remarks "it's been a slow day, so the owner wants to close " , I'm noting that it's closing almost 2 hours early. Will I ever come back here again? No. I am not someone who frivolously posts bad restaurant reviews, especially when not having had the chance to eat. But it's pretty rude to have a potential customer come out in the rain and be turned away from your business within the posted hours on the door. read more

Stopped here for breakfast today. The inside was nothing special and the staff weren't all that friendly but what drew me there was a breakfast sampler, something I love as I can never decide between savory or sweet! Well, this might have been the best one I have ever had. Everything from the creamy scrambled eggs to the seasoned potatoes to the crisp, curly bacon to the tasty toast to the delicious French toast was just how I like it. The portions were generous but not gluttonous and the presentation was far beyond what you would get in a diner. Could have done without the bees on us or the weird sticky bug catcher thing that somehow got stuck on my companion's jacket (ew!) but will definitely be back - for the breakfast sampler and maybe to try the lunch options. read more
