We made a reservation for Moreish during our fall day trip to Beacon, and it definitely did not disappoint! I studied abroad in London a few years ago, and this definitely satisfied my craving for a full English breakfast! The sausage was super juicy and the hash brown was also a flavored well and had a more unique texture than a traditional hash brown. I also appreciate that they have a vegetarian full English as well :) We also ordered the scones w/ clotted cream and jam which were super delicious! We were stuffed to the brim after. I think we could've ordered 2 full English breakfasts and 1 order of scones instead for 3 people and have been full. Definitely want to come back and try their afternoon tea or Sunday roast! I was recently visiting Beacon for the day with two close friends, and we had an incredible lunch at Moreish. I had looked into the place before we arrived and had tried to make a reservation, but they didn't have much availability online. We put our name in once we arrived and were luckily able to be seated about 40 minutes later. I had hoped to experience their breakfast menu, but they switch over to the lunch menu at noon. Nonetheless, we were all happy with the food, wine, and excellent service. My one friend and I had the fish and chips, which in retrospect, we wished we had shared since it was massive. Both the fish and the chips were perfectly fried and so tasty. Our other friend got the Ploughman's Lunch, which was also substantial but came with a salad, which made it lighter and more manageable. It's such a cute and charming restaurant and you can see how much care they take in preparing their food. I hope to return someday soon. read more

Great place. I'd been meaning to check Moreish out for a while, specifically for breakfast, but since we came to Beacon on the weekend a little later, lunch had to suffice. I had the ploughman's lunch, while my wife had the mushroom and tofu dish. Nicely sized portions, attractively presented, all of it flavorful. I also ordered a coffee, which was robust and not watery or bitter at all. Slightly disappointed that there appeared to be no menu for alcoholic drinks, as I'm sure my dish would've paired very nicely with a proper English ale. Pleasantly surprised that a high-chair was available for our five-month-old to sit in, since I would've otherwise presumed that this sort of place might discourage the presence of babies or young children. Timely service, as well. I hope to be back sometime early next year for breakfast. read more

We had a great breakfast experience at Moreish. The restaurant is tastefully decorated (the bathroom was my favorite!) Warm and inviting, the environment allowed us to slow down and enjoy the delicious food and tea. Here's what we had: 1. scones and clotted cream with jam (5/5) a delicious blend of sweet and savory and great way to start the meal. 2. Vegan English Breakfast (5/5). In one word- LOVE. There was a lot of attention paid to the tofu scramble. The taste of the olive oil really came through in all the right ways. Grilled mushroom and tomato, layers of flavors. When you know you are waking up in the morning and are going to have a full English breakfast without getting on a plane. Expectations!!!That's what happened to us today!!! We decided to take our Grandson to Moreish today for a true English Breakfast with all the fixings. I was most excited to try the black pudding, as I have had it both in England and Scotland numerous times and it is a luxury I have missed since before covid. Let me tell you, Chef Michael does not disappoint. I am a person who lives in the hill area Mt. Beacon, and I just don't want to go into town and deal with the tourists. I don't - I really don't. I am old and I am cranky, and I like my quiet and clearly do not want to fight for parking. Which is why, this Wednesday we decided to venture into town. First, perfection does not take 5 minutes. Be patient and know when the food arrives, it will be fresh. The yolk of the egg will be a beautiful bright orange and creamy. On my plate was the prettiest mushroom topped with a tomato. Of course, baked beans (Heinz - as the menu states) - Grilled British (yes imported) sausage, smoked back bacon, now this isn't the thin strips of Bacon, we poor American's are used to, this is real thick gorgeous bacon, as it should be. The hash browns were so good. And now onto my coveted black pudding. I was very lucky, that my wife does not care for black pudding in the slightest, it meant I got hers. What wasn't so great, our grandson LOVED it and he was able to eat one of hers. But that did leave me with 3 for myself and again... Totally worth the wait and we will be back. The only thing I predict... People will get word of this breakfast feast and will crowd in, and I will miss my good morning, Wednesday without crowds' breakfast. My wife and I had breakfast there this morning. I can't say enough good things about it. Got a table even though they were crowded and we didn't have a reservation. Loved the ambiance, we were able to hold a conversation without raising our voices. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was fantastic. When I visited London 9 years ago, I missed out on having an authentic English breakfast...just ate at our Marriott hotel. So I was happy and surprised that this type of food was available in 'lil ole Beacon, NY, where I was visiting family. It was very good, and I imagine, very authentic. First off, it's located in the food hall with other vendors, so I don't think they have a huge kitchen, but the meals were great and service excellent. Two in our party shared the Full English Breakfast; they loved the black pudding and everything else on the plate. I tried the baked beans, and they were delish. I shared the Steak & Guinness Pie and loved it. The crust was to die for, the steak tender, and mash with gravy was yummy comfort food. Someone else had the sausage roll and raved about it. I've been eyeing this place since I heard it was opening in the Hudson Valley Food Hall. I'm so happy we stopped in this morning to taste the Full English. Everything was delicious and just what I've been craving. Clearly everything was made with intention as we walked up and the scones were being rolled out and prepared to be baked - made fresh each day. Out service was friendly and fantastic and while the food hall is not the coziest environment- it offers a variety of options for everyone.
