Excellent seared scallops

My wife sister-in-law and myself went to the Millbrook Cafe for dinner on Saturday evening. Started off with the seared scallops and shrimp cocktail which were both excellent. Then we had the salad which was fresh and crisp. My wife had the full rack of ribs my sister-in-law had the salmon with shrimp and I had the Brazilian lobster tail with scallops and shrimp. All three meals came with excellent vegetables and red potatoes. The shrimp and lobster were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice I would highly recommend this restaurant I just wish they were open on Sunday.

Oh my goodness! If you're ever even close to the area do yourself a favor and have dinner here. Classy place. Reservations are a must because it's so good and small. Everything is cooked old fashioned with wood. So far I've had the chicken breasts, Cajun tilapia, and pork chops. Everything was AMAZING. Great bar as well, my Moscow mules and wine were perfect. Worth the drive, wait, and price. It's 4 star instead of 5 because they didn't have ranch or Italian dressing for the salads, I asked for no onions and got them, and the entire experience was great and high end until you got to the cheap crappy cookies at the dark chocolate dessert fountain. I'm nitpicking though, the place is a must try! Your taste buds will thank you.

Awesome chef

Wow! I had the opportunity to sit at the bar and watch the meals being prepared and cooked. This alone was amazing it was just unbelievable to watch the passion of the chef and synchronization by everyone. I ordered a steak and it was awesome & better than Ruth's Chris or any other premier steakhouses. My other observation was the behavior of entire staff seems to be program for 100% to satisfy the customer. (No Karens's here) Then comes the best part..I did not bring my reading glasses so really did not have the slightest clue what the bill would be for this awesome food, service and atmosphere, It turned out to be less expensive than appetizers and beer at the neighboring pub.

An adorable and bustling cafe in Kent! It was extremely busy on a Saturday morning in October, but…read morefortunately the line to order at the counter moved quickly, and there was enough turnover that we were able to get seats without waiting too long. However, they were out of a lot of bakery items by noon, so I'd recommend getting there early on the weekends. I went for the Smoked salmon bagel, and I kid you not, it was a religious experience. By far, the best jalapeño cheddar bagel I've ever had. I don't know how they made it but angels most definitely had to be involved. Order it with the scallion cream cheese and pay the extra $0.50 for the capers, it's worth it. I don't live in the area, so I will pray to the food gods to present me with an opportunity to return & eat that sandwich again.

I go hiking and then check out reviews of local bakeries. It's what I do…read more I love morning glory muffins and have had them at quite a few places. Everyone seems to use pretty much the same recipe with some slight variations. The muffins I had here were weird. I don't know what that dominant spice they used is but it was really kind of awful. Weird is just the only word I can think of to describe it. And the muffin was not dense at all. It kind of fell apart when you bit into it. I took a "sour cherry" pastry home snd it was ok. The apricot scone was bleh. I think this place will be a skip in the future.

I had the cashew bark, which was absolutely delicious, and a chai that was perfectly spiced and really hit the spot. The atmosphere is just as great as the treats. They have seating and even some games, which makes it a fun place to hang out and relax while you enjoy your snack. The staff were also kind and helpful when choosing what we wanted. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular here. Highly recommend stopping by if you're nearby!

The owner, Gary Kidd, goes out of his way to make it a destination with activities for kids and adults - photo booth, board games inside, outside games, and a winter igloo outside currently. Their handcrafted chocolates are phenomenal and there are all kinds of drinks to pair with them - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bobo tea and specialty drinks that are named after local spots (including the three independent schools in town). Ice cream is served year round. The ever-changing decorations inside are not to be missed - the Harry Potter theme one was particularly great with clouds suspended from the ceiling along with wands and other things throughout the store. We arrived and sat outside on the terrace. The road nearby was not too loud and the terrace was great shade on a warm day. We ordered gazpacho, ratatouille, onion soup, and clams linguini. Importantly, I almost NEVER order clams at restaurants. My family and I dig and eat at least a thousand clams a year in Rhode Island and I always assume and expect that no place can prepare them as well or as freshly. When the dish arrived I saw three cherrystones on top and figured this would be a small plate for a big price. I was completely wrong. The dish was better than anything I've made or had out. Full of tender chopped clams, the flavor and sauce were superb and the bread was excellent. We finished the meal with the pastry desert (cream puff with ice cream and chocolate sauce) and a merengue floating on a vanilla sauce. Both were wonderful. The service was great- Emelina (?) was very attentive and gave us spot on advice (and some basic French lessons) with a smile. The owner, Rober, also stopped by to make sure our experience was good. I would recommend strongly to anyone in the area who appreciates fine dining without too much fuss or to anyone wondering what French food is really like.
