We had the pretzel sticks for an appetizer and they were delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and my salad was fresh. My fiancé had a grass fed burger and fries and he said that it was probably the best burger he's had in the area. We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to visiting again. My kids immediately attacked it. The salsa was not spicy so they really enjoyed it. A quick look at the menu we realized they don't serve alcohol, a bit disappointed but not a deal breaker. They did have many Virgin drinks such as sangria, Pina colada, Margarita, etc. I found their menu to be a bit all over the place. They have a Spanish section but also have burgers and sandwiches as well as Italian pasta dishes. Their appetizer also contains taco bowls and burritos which should be in main dish section?! The soup are also quite expensive, but maybe because they are big portions? The menu also don't give much description for the Spanish food (I'm no expert), so we made our orders and hoped for the best. The kids wanted milkshakes and I asked the waiter to split 1 order into 2 cups so they can share it. He was super nice to do so without charging extra. I want to take that sauce home and add rice or pasta to it!! You can tell that the mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes. It has nice chunks to it and the color is slightly yellow. So good! My son had the calamari and it was served on a bed salad with lettuce, tomato, radish, and banana peppers. The creamy dipping sauce was so good too. He immigrated to New York City in 1981 and worked at several high-profile restaurants. Mikael met Charlotte when he began working as a chef for Charlotte's Catering where she was also working. After marrying in 1989, they bought the catering business. After a trip to Millbrook, they fell in love with the area and wanted to open a restaurant in town. They purchased the building that housed Allyn's Restaurant in 2006 and renamed it "Charlotte's Restaurant". The location was built in the 19th century as a church before being converted into a theater and finally a restaurant space. My wife and I recently dined at Charlotte's while we were visiting Millbrook. We were celebrating our sixth anniversary with a stay at Wing's Castle nearby. Charlotte's came highly recommended. We started things off with some Autumn-inspired cocktails: I had the "Apple Pie Martini" while my wife had the "Warm Cider with Spiced Rum". They both really hit the spot. We had about 15 minutes to kill before attending a Yelp event across The Street so we opted to take the chill off by purchasing a hot beverage at Norma's. The staff is pretty laid-back, friendly, but laid-back. If you're in a hurry, I'm not sure if this would work. The hot and cold beverages are very straightforward and you can get some vegan options here. There were two behind the counter, but I felt they were a little engaged in their personal banter and we're not that attentive. Not a real sense of urgency or purpose. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but once they did give us their full attention, we let them know that we were waiting for an event across the street and didn't have a lot of time. They asked us if we'd like to sit down with our beverage and we opted to do so since it was pretty cold outside. We ordered two hot chocolate And two homemade biscuits. They gave us a table number stanchion for the table and let us know they would be bringing it to us. We did not need to wait. I wouldn't bother so much but two biscuits and two hot chocolates.
