Short Stack Pancakes, Biscuits and Country Gravy with over easy eggs, and freshly squeezed OJ
Jim P.

Awesome old school location, nestled on a small prop plane airport. The staff is super friendly and makes sure all your needs are met. Very busy breakfast spot for Sunday morning. The orange juice tasted like it was fresh squeezed from Florida. The food was delicious and tasted great. We will be going back!

Amazing food with beautiful view. Service was great. The lady that served us was so sweet. I love this spot. Variety of Small planes come and go which makes it so beautiful. Love this place.

If you fly planes please fly to this spot for breakfast. If you don't fly planes, please go to this spot for breakfast. This place is to the east of Poughkeepsie in the hills. If your flying in I warn you of the incline on the taxiway and the decline on the runway. The food was pretty yummy. We sat ourselves and we were greeted as soon as we sat down. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the staff is nice. I ordered the avocado toast with some chicken on the side. The avocado toast was good but I noticed it was more like Guacamole spread over the break. I liked it regardless though. If you like watching airplanes and eating right then come here lol.

I most important thing when visiting any restaurant, or café is the food and the service. The food was excellent. There was a table of 10 of us and everyone loved their brunch. The service was impeccable. What a pleasant Sunday, listening to a guitarist that was tucked in the corner, a delicious meal served with such a professional and friendly staff. I would highly recommend the Hangar cafe.

The Hangars cafe reopened under new owner and chef. The chef is a graduate from the CIA and we've been eager to try this place. They remodeled the interior to give it an open, bright, rustic look. Plenty of seating available, with a small waiting area by the fireplace. They also have outdoor seating during warm weather. We were greeted warmly and was seated promptly on a Sunday morning around 11 am. Breakfast all day and lunch menu starts at 11:30 am. Husband had the biscuit - Perfect portion and you can tell the biscuit is homemade and the gravy is thick and flavorful. Not too salty either. I had steak & eggs - nice tender piece and cooked to medium rare as I requested. No complaint what so ever. The place seems to be doing good; most of the tables were filled and the food are coming out at a nice pace. All the servers were cheerful and friendly. They were also giving out foam craft plane for the kids to take home. We will definitely be back here soon.

Father's Day Brunch

Went here for the first time today for Father's Day brunch - definitely a hidden gem!! Amazing fresh food & friendly service. Will be returning ASAP :)

Millbrook Continental - Mexican stew, comes with rice

Absolutely wonderful! The menu offers a huge selection of Spanish, Mexican, Latin, and South…read moreAmerican dishes plus American and Italian. I got the chicken fajitas and my dad got the beef stew. Both were generous portions -- the chicken and veggies were perfectly cooked and I have 1-2 meals worth of leftovers. The homemade tortillas were the best I've ever had. The hot sauce was fantastic too (unsure if made in house or not). Wanted to note that they now serve alcohol, as another reviewer mentioned they didn't. They have a full dining room plus a bar area, and both are equally nice. We went on a weekday evening and the place was fairly empty. Please do yourself a favor and check them out!

Highlight of this restaurant: amazing food but do not serve alcohol…read more Read on for our full experience - This restaurant used to be Maura's Kitchen, on Alden Place. It's a bit off the main street traffic and not advertised as they should. We were in the mood to try something new so decided to give this place a shot on a Friday night. The place was completely empty and I was a bit worried that this is not going to be a good meal. Once seated, the waiter brought a basket of tortillas chips and salsa to the table. My kids immediately attacked it. The salsa was not spicy so they really enjoyed it. A quick look at the menu we realized they don't serve alcohol, a bit disappointed but not a deal breaker. They did have many Virgin drinks such as sangria, Pina colada, Margarita, etc. I found their menu to be a bit all over the place. They have a Spanish section but also have burgers and sandwiches as well as Italian pasta dishes. Their appetizer also contains taco bowls and burritos which should be in main dish section?! The soup are also quite expensive, but maybe because they are big portions? The menu also don't give much description for the Spanish food (I'm no expert), so we made our orders and hoped for the best. The kids wanted milkshakes and I asked the waiter to split 1 order into 2 cups so they can share it. He was super nice to do so without charging extra. As the dishes come out, our worries were put to ease. Everything was absolutely delicious. Hubby had the shrimp sauteed (Camarones Saltados), big portions with a side of rice and salad. It was light and well seasoned, the rice were also very flavorful. I had the Mexican stew, which was tender pork in tomato based soup with fresh onions, lettuce and avocado on top. Comes with tortillas chips, green dipping sauce (guacamole-like, but not as thick), and a very spicy hot sauce (which I ended up adding to the soup as it was absolutely yum), and a side of rice. My daughter ordered the Garlic shrimp - she opt for mashed potatoes on the side. I was surprised to find the garlic shrimp was in a creamy sauce, but it was so good! I want to take that sauce home and add rice or pasta to it!! You can tell that the mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes. It has nice chunks to it and the color is slightly yellow. So good! My son had the calamari and it was served on a bed salad with lettuce, tomato, radish, and banana peppers. The creamy dipping sauce was so good too. We really wanted dessert but was so full from dinner that we'll have to plan better next time. All in all, great place with top notch food. I would give the food 5 but knocked 1 down due to no alcohol. We will definitely come back to try more dishes!!

What a great little find. I stopped here with family this morning (Thank you for being open on New…read moreYears!), and was so pleasantly surprised. If you don't look and turn too quick, you can easily pass by without noticing. It has a small parking area out front, and it's clearly a local gem. This is not the place you go to for a high end meal. You won't find fancy dishes being served. Instead, you walk into this quaint storefront and a friendly cashier standing in front of the push pin menu board. This is where you go on a lazy morning when you want that home cooked meal feel without needing to do any of the work at home. Think potato buns cushioning a warm homemade sausage cut, a griddled egg, that melty sliced cheddar, and add on a perfectly crispy hash brown. It was like my favorite relative made it for me as I sat in my pajamas. Truly a trip worth stopping in for, and as an added boost, walk around their little shop while you wait. You won't regret it.

I mentioned this cute little town because it's just one of the little niches along the Hudson river that makes a perfect little day trip. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: really quaint storefront, and first impression.Enter through the cafe door which also functions as a retail shop for handmade objects like soaps, etc. The gifts have an upscale vibe-worth a trip back. We had about 15 minutes to kill before attending a Yelp event across The Street so we opted to take the chill off by purchasing a hot beverage at Norma's. The staff is pretty laid-back, friendly, but laid-back. If you're in a hurry, I'm not sure if this would work. The hot and cold beverages are very straightforward and you can get some vegan options here. There were two behind the counter, but I felt they were a little engaged in their personal banter and we're not that attentive. Not a real sense of urgency or purpose. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but once they did give us their full attention, we let them know that we were waiting for an event across the street and didn't have a lot of time. They asked us if we'd like to sit down with our beverage and we opted to do so since it was pretty cold outside. We ordered two hot chocolate And two homemade biscuits. They gave us a table number stanchion for the table and let us know they would be bringing it to us. We did not need to wait. We took the three steps down to the main dining area, where we were pleasantly surprised that they were having a live event - in this case it was a storytelling event. There was a table available for the two of us so we sat down and quickly realized that the table was so off-balance that it post a potential safety hazard. When I placed my hot chocolate down and rested my wrist, the entire table tilted forward toward me. This is an easy thing to fix, but my guess is that it's been this way for a really long time. That's unfortunate. All that aside, the room was really cozy and had a lot of character - lots of two top and four top tables to provide a very intimate setting with each one having a good view of the small stage Minutes went by and there was no biscuit delivered. More minutes went by and we began to wonder if they had forgotten. I guess is that they weren't making the biscuits from scratch so most likely they did forget. Since we had already paid for everything with a pretty generous tip, we waited a a few more minutes. Time ran out when we noticed that the event attendees were lining up across the street. That's something we could see from the really great big windows that faced Main Street. Reluctantly, my sister and I got up from the table and headed to the counter where we had made the order. We let them know that we needed to go and asked if the biscuits were ready. They seemed perplexed at first and then a lightbulb moment. Yes. I suspect they did forget the order. I wouldn't bother so much but two biscuits and two hot chocolates. It was about $20 plus tip so when they recognized that the biscuits were still missing, they asked if we would like to take them to go. The lack of awareness was disappointing because they were clearly not busy with anything else A minute or two later, they emerged from the kitchen with a small bag, presumably containing the two biscuits. Service was definitely lacking, particularly for what is a bit of a higher priced venue. Maybe we caught them on an off night but my sense is that laid back attitude is built in to the business model. Would I return to Norma's? I'm not sure. The hot chocolate was good, not from a mix, but would it bring me back? I'll let you know.
