As probably the only reliable sit-down restaurant that opens on Sunday mornings, Cranberry's in Hyde Park, was it. This was an incredibly cozy spot for a laidback breakfast after wrapping up with an errand in the area. Aside from another couple, we practically had the place to ourselves. Almost imagine being in a quaint B&B's dining room with 50s Doo-Wop thrown in- well, that's the feel you get here. Service was nice and so was our simple, hit-the-spot breakfast. Between my tasty mushroom+fresh mozzarella omelette and hubs' BEC, we had no issues. As a heads up, these folks don't have iced decaf, what you'll get is hot decaf coffee with decaf coffee cubes. Different for these parts- but hubs drank it. My first Chai I ordered, came with warm milk on the side but when I poured it in my mug, the milk curdled. When I mentioned it to the owner, she said that she drank milk earlier that morning¯\_(ツ)_/¯. In my head I'm like, "did you NOT notice that it was spoiled????" Plus, the small pitcher the original milk was served in, had that milk ring on the inside. Ewww. I hesitated ordering another, but I was somehow convinced to. Needless to say, the 2nd, was safe to drink but I got flashbacks. Price was right and my drink issue was straighten out with a very fresh one.

    Right outside of Cranberry's.

I came here with my boyfriend for a quick bite after touring the mansions. Even though they were closing in a half hour, we were not rushed and were able to savor our sweets in the cute Victorian dining room area. I had the pumpkin bar, which was delicious and so generous of a portion that I had trouble finishing it. I also had a cup of their pumpkin coffee, which hit the spot on this brisk afternoon. My boyfriend had one of their chocolate chip cookies paired with chocolate milk. The chocolate milk was from their little help serve freezer section. It was local and super delicious. We definitely recommend this place if you're in the area as it is conveniently located, has reasonably priced items, and super friendly staff.

    Best pancakes ever!!!

Breakfast all day, salads, sandwiches, roasted chicken, meatloaf, pasta, soup, and desserts! Did something say milkshake? We came in after a tour at the CIA since the Egg wasn't open yet for dinner. We were seated quickly and our ice water came too. It took us awhile to settle on our entrees because there is soooo much to see. After asking our server for their favs, we landed on the seafood salad and patty melt to share. The seafood salad items (shrimp, scallops and calamari were cooked perfectly. They do not skimp on the size of the seafood either. The house tomato dressing is really bright with a hint of sweetness. Hubby's party melt was a little undercooked but still tasty. The rye bread was buttery toasted and the grilled onions were nice and carmelized. He also loved the seasoned French fries. Oh we really wanted dessert but passed. We did get a small black and white cookie because I'm on the hunt for the best. At only .50, how could I not get one?our server was very attentive and energetic. Loved her! Folks, don't let the low reviews stop you from coming here because they almost did for me. No regrets in the decision. We'll be back for breakfast!

I was told to order the #4 or the Vodka Chicken Parm hero. Ended up walking out with over $350 worth of food because I was so blown away. I'm not really sure where to begin: first of all as an Italian, walking into the restaurant already felt like home. I was blown away from the fresh made pasta's, various sauces I could take home, Arancini's (rice balls), and then how could I say no to the desserts. I was in heaven. I had a great conversation with the fabulous ladies behind the counter. I'm pretty sure everyone behind me picking up orders were like "can this guy leave already?". But I just had to continue chatting with everyone. The ladies helped me get everything from around the store that my heart desired. And then I remembered, I was supposed to come in and get a sandwhich. They showed me the screens mounted on the walls which clearly had a custom ordering template built out from the store with all the modification elements to add/remove toppings as needed. Blown away again. I'm a technology salesperson and that part hit a different satisfaction for me as they had this down - and quite honestly the Italian market/pork store is not where I'm expected the highest level of technology lol. Just blown away. Lastly, I told them about my fiancée and how her family owns DelFiore's pork store down on Long Island. At that point they grabbed Fabio, the owner, and we had an amazing conversation as I learned he knew exactly what DelFiore's was and even offered to help give us advice if we ever want to get into the family business. I was supposed to go in and get a rocking $25-$30 sandwhich and I walked out with $350 worth of food because I was being assisted by some of the nicest people I've ever met in the food industry. Just the most genuine caring people. Mind you, I had to schlep all of this back to Brooklyn NY in a Suburu Outback rental. And if you are wondering if everything stayed in the trunk on that drive back, fughetaboutit. I'm popping arancini's like candy on the Taconic home (no small feet with those turns). These people are in the food business because they care about making people's days and giving them the best possible food. Protect these people at all costs. This is a Mecca for quality Italian provisions. I'll be grabbing my fiancée and heading back up so we can continue chatting with everyone and not holding the lines up. 11/10 experience I'm blown away if you couldn't already tell. Just take my money, I can't pay enough for such enjoyable days. That drive home sucked at rush hour, but they all made it worth it. I like to think I gave them all a little enjoyment as well :). I was a little confused by the takeout process, as I had to wait about 15 minutes for my sandwich after ordering. That said, the sandwich was absolutely massive and delicious--I couldn't even finish the whole thing. On my second visit, I ordered online for pickup and had the sausage and onion pinza. My order was ready as soon as I walked in, making for a much smoother experience. The pinza was excellent, and just like the sandwich, the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all. The restaurant is very nice, the food was consistently delicious, and the portions offer great value. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
