Expensive. Poor quality. Uncomfortable atmosphere. This is disappointing to write because we used to eat from here pretty often. Probably won't anymore. I tried to place an online order at 2:10 (they close at 3) and online ordering was turned off. Okay, so we'll go in. We place our orders and the girl at the register says to my fiancée "I think I'm forgetting something you said" my fiancée says "the bacon" and the girl apologizes. No problem. Then we get home and there's still no bacon on the sandwich... I got the 'grandpa' sandwich and this is what it looked like inside. We paid FORTY dollars for the two sandwiches, 2 bags of chips and two iced teas. We usually order online for pickup because when you walk in the staff ALWAYS looks at you like they want you to leave. Convenience store/ deli atmosphere. Excellent service and clearly understand allergy vs preference when it comes to the gluten free items they offer. Got an omelette (yum!) and was given a choice of white or multigrain gluten free toast. Amazing! Coffee was hot and oat milk was one of the creamer options. While this is clearly more of a grab and go place, there are a few tables if you want to eat there. Would absolutely go back. read more

We were in the area and wanted to get a quick bite for breakfast. Shelly's was right down the road and it seemed very obvious where we should stop. I wanted a breakfast sandwich and they offer so many gluten free bread options that I was really excited for this meal. I had a simple sausage, egg and cheese on a gf roll. The sandwich was exactly what I was looking for. It reminded me of an easier time before I needed a gluten free diet, when I could just pick up a sandwich from anywhere. It's so nice to have a sense of normalcy and for the food to be absolutely delicious. The food was ready quickly, which was perfect because we had errands to run. Ordered a breakfast Philly wrap, home fries and medium coffee paid a little over $15... I figured if you want a good breakfast you should expect to pay a little more. I get home regular sized wrap folded to about the palm of my hand. Took a bite and I got that not sure if it was freezer burn taste or when the meat is about to go bad, could not pinpoint but obviously to the garbage it went. The home fries were basically overly fried cubes with maybe peppers and onions and lots of oil in the tin, so to the garbage it went. The coffee was ok. The service was average nothing really stood out, the place feels a little gloomy. I am all about supporting locally owned, and as long as the food is good I will happily pay whatever they charge. Wish I could say everything was great and that I would recommend but I just can't. Maybe their lunch menu is better, never had it so I can't review. read more

If anyone is looking for a convenient stop for fresh and delicious food, Shelly's is the place. There menu is quite huge, and there is a lot to offer at a reasonable price. Ordering is very simple, placing your order and providing your name then finally paying once its received. I ordered the chicken parm hero sandwich with an order of fries (doesn't come with it, I ordered it separately). Personally I liked the buns that were used, well seasoned and had seeds on it. They'll definitely be another opportunity to try their other selections on a future date. With COVID, there is no indoor seating provided, but there is however an outdoor seating only two tables and two chairs. Besides that, takeout is the other option. It can get pretty hectic while waiting especially during the crisis, so calling in and picking it up is the best alternative. Since everything is made to order, it took a little bit of time. But well worth the wait. The wrap was delicious! A bit of salsa would have been nice. Great for a quick take out lunch. Sandwiches are generous and they have a pretty nice drink/chip selection. The fries are crinkle cut fries. We had a Rueben and an Italian sub. Both were great. Rueben wasn't too greasy, which I liked. read more

A coworker got me their italian sandwich. Which i have ordered in the past and was happy with. Todays sandwich i had to open much later because i was trapped in work meetings until the end of the day. I opened the wrapper and much to my shock the sandwich was made with almost no content. Why in the world would you want to go to a sandwich/sub mega-chain when you can get something just as delicious and even more fresh at a place like Shelly's? And their menu shows they probably have double or triple the number of options. My pastrami reuben (on rye, of course) was toasted nicely without being greasy, with about an inch of pastrami inside, fresh sauerkraut, and a nice amount of melted cheese. The subs (wedges) I saw others taking out are about the same length but much thicker in diameter than the chain equivalents. They offer a nice selection of salads and hot items too. If you want to eat in, there's a nice, clean area with tables for 2-4 near the coffee station. But you can also order to go, and they also deliver. The inside is very clean. I like having Shelly's in the area... but I bet the competition doesn't. read more

Food is decent, but during this time... they don't enforce mask covering. I had to tell a guy not wearing a mask to in the deli he needs to be wearing a mask, to which he of course said "I don't wanna wear one." Kinda have to with the executive order going on right now. GREAT place! I go here often, it's only about a mile away from work. I recommend the Gramma & Grandpa subs, and their meatball subs -- the latter doesn't appear on the menu but call them first & ask if they have any meatballs that day. They make them the right way: without a ton of breadcrumbs so they're not rubbery. And if they're available, try the Bachmann's corn chips -- I find them to be way better than Fritos! They're also very conscientious of customers with food allergies: gluten-free, dairy, etc. read more

Especially with the way the owner treats and talks to his employees like he owns them and not just the business or they're his pet and he can curse at them and talk to them as he pleases which is not a very good way to to run a business in front of customers and expect to have employees that are happy to come to work and are joyful to work around and are nice to their customers... In my summer internship, I was responsible for getting lunch for 9 teenagers every day for 3 weeks & Shelly's proved to be the best food & most reliable order fulfillment. The food looked great, the students enjoyed it & Shelly's has a very good beverage selection, so we ordered from here frequently. Even though it was during their busy lunch rush, staff were still willing to go through the order with me as it was bagged, so I could be sure we had everything & there was never an item missed. At the end of the internship, I was told by our admin that I should have saved the lunch receipts, but I had not. Ricky at Shelly's Deli went above & beyond for us by searching through their records & sending me copies of all of the receipts.
