Cappuccino
Beth M.

Came here for cappuccino and breakfast pastries and wasn't disappointed. Kids got lemonade (with cucumber and mint) and berry iced tea (which had a distinct herby flavor we couldn't quite place - magnolia root apparently) they both liked their choices. Cappuccino was good and so so pretty. I liked the ham and cheese croissant although the lamination was eh. My partner preferred the almond croissant. We also sampled the green tea blueberry muffin which tasted a lot like tea and was enjoyed. My son loved the granola bowl and the sea salt cinnamon bun was really good. The service was delightful and the space is really great, with giant windows that open completely (with or without screens).

Very delicious bakery! From the toast to the banana bread to the basque cheesecake, everything is really well made. It's also a very relaxing cafe with open windows.

I have been trying to get to Kelly's bakery for months now and I'm glad I finally made it. It's a Saturday, late morning on a beautiful sunny day and the line is out the door and down the ramp. A very good sign! The wait was not that long as they are hustling inside trying to get everyone taken care of. We ordered hot cardamom lattes and they are so incredibly delicious that I wished I'd ordered a large. I got Kelly's egg sandwich. Nice and hot with yummy melted cheese, caramelized onions, a yolky egg and extra for avocado. For me the brioche bun was too thick although the bread is good. Also wish it had more onions and the avocado was a small smear. It was good but I would probably not order again. The BALT (BLT with avocado) was the sandwich to beat. A nice crusty, toasted bread with delicious bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato. I wish I had gotten this for myself! Haha. The pastry was also very good. Again those lattes were the bomb!!!

I recently went there for coffee and breakfast. Upon entering the café and bakery was very clean, well lit, and had nice displays. There was a little bit of confusion around who was helping us for some reason, so we stood there for a while waiting. Not a huge deal. The food was quite good but expensive. I got the mushroom toast and my friend got the BLT sandwich. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. I found it to be very pleasant with lots of available parking. My only complaint would be the cost of the food. I would recommend this bakery.

Their pastries are buttery, flaky, fluffy, not over the top sweet, and just delectable!! Favorites are croissants and palmiers. Always get the matcha latte as well which is perfectly made. Friendly staff. Get here early. Worth the wait. Trendy hipster vibe - I feel like I'm in Brooklyn or Portland.

Egg sandwich, hot chai, acai granola bowl

Just went back today after dropping my daughter off at college again. Still great. Great music, great vibe, nice people. I had the super delicious egg sandwich with the fried eggs perfectly runny. My daughter's hot chai looked awesome and she loved her acai granola bowl.

Mushroom toast

The mushroom toast is definitely my absolute favorite! I have to say, it's probably one of my favorite toasts ever, where the savory, meaty and woody mushroom paired perfectly with the creamy cheese! My wife also loved their avocado toast where the avocado spread was also very decadently creamy! The staff were also friendly and kind, conversing with us casually and it was a pleasure speaking with them. The cafe is very cute with spacious seating and welcoming designs all throughout, providing a comfortable ambiance for diners to relax and enjoy themselves, with both indoor and outdoor seatings. Overall, it's a very cute cafe and I highly, HIGHLY, recommend their toasts for a quick and light bite, especially the mushroom toast if you like mushrooms! Thank you for reading and best of luck!! (:

THIS PLACE IS TOP KNOTCH! Omg everything was scrumptious, ESPECIALLY the cheesecake. Our family said it was the best we've ever had. The decor was awesome and the staff was so nice. One of them saw me pull up a third chair that was too low to sit at a two seater table and insisted I get up while he brought me the right size chair. We got in line like three separate times because we just kept ordering. They had Matinellis apple juice too!

Croissants, monkey bread, cinnamon roll. So much yum!!!

Favorite bakery in the Hudson valley I SAID IT!! Kelly's can. not. miss. We discovered this spot in the midst of COVID when it was much less busy and it's been consistently amazing since. Quality has not gone down even with a line out the door! The croissants are the best I've had outside of France, the monkey bread is heavenly, banana bread is soft and moist and not too sweet and the chocolate babka muffin was super delicious. I've never had something here I didn't make happy noises whilst eating. I love the unusual + innovative flavor combos and constantly changing menu. They also have homemade flavored syrups for espresso drinks (my favorite is the lavender). The huge open garage door windows make this an ideal work/study spot in warmer weather but that's really only feasible on an off-time as they are constantly moving tables in and out (and ask you only sit for max 90 mins). I can't get enough of Kellys pls stay here forever!

The is absolutely the best breakfast and pastries you will have in Poughkeepsie! We were visiting for a friend's wedding and wanted to get breakfast in the morning and try the walkway over the Hudson. We started with a slice of buttered almond cake and pumpkin cake. Both were super moist, flavorful and delicious. We also had two medium, hot caramel lattes and the Kelley's egg sandwich. The roll was soft and fluffy, the egg was cooked perfectly, topped with caramelized onions and comes piled with Gruyère cheese. You can also top it with crispy thick cut bacon or chicken sausage. I highly recommend trying the breakfast sandwich!

The two times I went, there were a few patrons with toddlers playing with games/toys making the vibe less conducive for quietly reading or working, FYI. The baristas served not only great tasting coffee, but it looked amazing too! I ordered a drip coffee with oat milk and in my second visit, the cortado. The pastries were fresh looking but most had hazelnut or Nutella in them on the first visit (I'm allergic). They had a new selection of pastries on my second trip but sadly I didn't have any. Nice space that's modern and a great addition to the PK area.

From the moment you walk in, you feel like you've stepped into a little pocket of charm and warmth that's hard to find these days. You can feel their passion in every detail, from the menu to the atmosphere. They treat every guest like an old friend, and it shows. The food is exceptional, the ambiance is beautiful without trying too hard, and the service feels like a genuine extension of who they are. You leave feeling happier than when you arrived -- and that's rare. If you want a place with heart, character, and incredible food, this is it. Anna et Pierre is a must-visit.

One of the most unique cafes I've been to in recent memories. From the Ground Up, is located deep inside a 55+ senior living townhouse community. It was a little tricky to find driving through the different buildings in the complex. Once we figured it out, we were greated with a very large dining area that was super clean with big windows and plenty of natural light. They have a few cases of baked goods and coffee, as well as weekly specials. One look at the menu and I knew my order. Shakshuka (traditionally African or Middle Eastern) is a dish of eggs poached in a spiced tomato sauce with onions, peppers, garlic, chickpeas, and kale served with bread to soak up that wonderful red sauce and egg yolk. At $14, this was a steal. The Rueben and fries were pretty standard and my iced latte was decent. Finished things off with a chocolate chip cookie skillet topped with vanilla ice cream. Had plenty of leftovers to bring home. They do a lot of catering and use the cafe as a home base for their 2 food trucks. The chef is a CIA grad. Seems with the 100s of townhouses, they have a built in customer base. They offer some pretty standard stuff like paninis, waffles, omelettes, and burgers. Next time, I want to try the shepherds pie, fish and chips, or chicken and waffles. #highland #fromthegroundupcafe #shakshuka #coffee #reuben #hveats #hvfoodies #eater #igeats #ulster #hudsonvalley #ulstereateriesunited #cookieskillet #ulstereateriesunfiltered #cafe #townhouses @above_weddings

After we walked in one of the waitresses informed us that we can sit wherever we want. I instantly felt like I was inconveniencing her with my presence by the way she said it. Didn't take it personal just yet. What appeared to be the hostess came over a few minutes after we sat down and handed us menus that were very dirty. I looked at my husband and said I am ready to walk out of this place bc I am starving and it looks like they are too short staffed right now which is understandably out of a businesses control sometimes. But wait, instead of the waitress coming to our table to bring water or ask us if we would like a drink, she went to another table with a man and a child that she obviously knew well, and started eating their french fries and talking. That's when we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. So unprofessional. That couldn't wait? I hate to leave a review like this, but if I was the owner of this business, I would not want someone like that working for me, representing what seems to be a great place.

Love the indoor/outdoor bar area. I ordered a dirty martini. Made perfectly. We shared the Farmer's Wings, oysters on a half shell and a mixed green salad with Goat Cheese, soooooo good. My Wife also went with the Salmon & garlic mash served with green beans. Hella Good. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our server, a very kind gentleman, who's name a cannot remember made our experience even more incredible by going above and beyond to direct the umbrellas just so that the sun wasn't in my Wife's eyes and our view of the walkway wasn't blocked. The Negroni I ordered had a good balance of flavors but I always prefer a big rock of ice vs. chipped ice, which waters down the drink too fast.
