I spent 15 years there thinking good Mexican food was just one of the things you had to give up when you moved to NY. Then I moved to Beacon, and bemoaned the restaurants I left behind in NYC. However, Los Portales (almost) made up for that (I still regret not being able to go to Vegetarian Dim Sum whenever I want). I've tried other Mexican restaurants in Newburgh, and they've been good, but Los Portales is the best. I've eaten there consistently for 11 years now, and the food has always been delicious. Plus, it's very clean, and the waitstaff is always nice. One night my friends and I placed a takeout order, and when I went to pick it up, they'd given us extra food because they were out of something we'd ordered. They're great.
