Delicious! The concha egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is a perfect combo of sweet and salty goodness. Add to that their salted caramel cold brew that is to die for! Highly recommend

Really solid trendy Mexican food in Newburgh, which could be straight out of Bushwick, BK. Deliciously flavorful red chilaquiles and slightly bland chicken-and-egg burrito. Massive portions which is amazing for the price!

It was almost closing time and they graciously made the best cortados and lattes!! Atmosphere and coffee was incredible. The historical view across the street was a plus, too. And they sell beautiful bouquets of flowers. We had to get those as well.

We decided to stop here on our way to the city and so glad we did! Staff were super friendly. It's a small cafe - so not ideal for big groups but ok if solo or 2 people. Their menu all sounded so good but we went with the burrito + add chilaquiles (do it), and a few pastries. The burrito is HUGE - so really easy to share. We tried iced lattes and the Japanese Iced coffee to drink. Super flavorful espresso and the iced coffee was like a mellow cold brew. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

One of my fave coffee shops...all of the food is amazing you can't go wrong with any of their options! And their beverages are delicious as well. Amazing quality at such a low price! The staff is all very sweet and add to the experience!

Loved discovering this gem in downtown Newburgh! Very clean space, the style is urban Mexico, and the coffee is fantastic. It really reminded me of my days in Baja California and Oaxaca. The syrups are self serve, water available, and very reasonable prices. They have decaf espresso (my midday choice), and my friend got their espresso tonic, and both are fantastic. Service was great, very professional, to the point of giving a slight chill but hard working, quick and effective. They have frequent visitor cards, which I definitely started one since I will be returning.

Cortado, Iced Latte w/ house syrup, BEC on Concha

This was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. Charming coffee shop in a rough location. Coffee is solid, everything priced reasonably. That giant BEC is $10 (and literally amazing).

Downstate, a coffee shop on Lander St. in the heart of the city of Newburgh NY, is a yummy peek at the future of the Hudson Valley. The interior design manages to reveal itself as both industrial and welcoming in the way that the most progressive new eateries in NYC tend to be. The staff, Brandon, Erik and Brenda greeted me with a pre-warmed cup for what was very good coffee and topped it off with youthful, welcoming smiles. My food was also quite good and my overall take on this place was; inspired and inspiring. Not at all cheap, but that's the future. It was fun and tasty and I think you will enjoy it very much.

Everything I've had here is superb, but the star of the show is the torta with chorizo.

Yes Yes Yes Yes…read more This place is in fact not overhyped. As an avid matcha enthusiast, I have to say, I'm shocked yet so satisfied. I'm usually disappointed by more matcha or coffee shops than usual however State Thomas has proved me wrong. First off this place is so simple, chic and aesthetic. I love the long tables that allow for bigger groups and just a collaborative family like setting. On both sides of the windows, there's also seating available too which is appreciated. The cute notepad wall filled with positive affirmations and sayings are such a sweet touch especially during the holiday season. The fact that you are able to choose your sweetness is one of the most simplest yet thoughtful things shops that sell matcha can do. It''s really customer centric which I appreciate. I ordered the matcha thomas with oat milk and 100% sweetness. The drink had the perfect color, has notes of coconut and vanilla and although it was 100% sweetness it was still subtle. There has to be some type of coconut cream or milk given the flavor and texture and its sooo yummy and refreshing. If you are in the Beacon area and like matcha, please don't hesistate to try this place out!

When I called the restaurant to inform them of the issue, the person who initially answered the phone did sound genuinely concerned, which I appreciated. However, my experience quickly went downhill when the "manager" or supervisor came on the line. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, she initially laughed when I explained what happened--which felt incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, she casually mentioned that she didn't see any missing water caps, as if that somehow resolved my complaint. I even offered to bring back the half-eaten wrap as proof, but the conversation continued to lack empathy or responsibility. She then asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement wrap. At that point, I explained that I just wanted a refund, not more food from a kitchen where bottle caps end up in customer orders. The whole situation left me really unsettled--not just from the physical contamination, but from the lack of genuine concern. Overall, this experience makes me question the hygiene practices behind the scenes and the way customer complaints are handled. A simple apology and visible concern would have gone a long way, but instead I felt like an inconvenience. I will not be returning, and I seriously hope this business improves its training and attention to food safety.
