Um, hello? Hi! Best stuffed bagel to ever exist? Yes. How do I know, um because they're the inventors! Creators. Originators. Geniuses. If you haven't tried Moonrise Bagels up until now (like me a few days ago heehee) um, what are you doing? Imagine a pizza pocket (what a throwback) except it's a bagel pizza pocket, or even better, a stuffed bagel. With pizza inside. I mean, if that's what you end up ordering (which you totally should because you really must). I ordered the stuffed sesame bagel with pizza that comes with a ranch sauce. I personally hate ranch. This tastes NOTHING like ranch which is what makes it even more incredible. I also got the vegan egg and sausage bagel. Let's pause here for a moment. You heard me say it right, the VEGAN stuffed bagel. This was FIRE. Not more fire than their mooney sauce. I highly recommend doing the everything bagel on the outer part which will pair sooooo good with this stuffed bagel. The mooney sauce has me on a chokehold. What is it? Nothing more and nothing less than their super secret awesome sauce. If you're craving the classic bagel with cream cheese feel, you must order their little bagel tots that come with cream cheese and you dip them like little tots/fries. So good and perfect for sharing. I will say, if you want to leave stuffed with stuffed bagels, you can't show up when they're sold out so plan ahead. Come early. I think the earlier the better especially for the freshly baked effect and the perfect bagel pull. Other than that, I'm so happy I finally got to try this place, they have another location in Woodstock and recently in NYC (where you know they for sure have a good line). Thirsty? When we heard about this place, it went down on our "must try" list. So as soon as we had the opportunity, we decided to swing by and give it a go! We were fortunate and found parking right in front. It wasn't a busy morning despite being a Saturday and the interior was simple yet inviting and clean. There was also very limited seating inside so it's best to take it to go. The staff were very pleasant. The bacon, egg and cheese stuffed bagel was pretty good! It's such a fun idea and is less messy than a typical BEC. The only real critique is that the bagel was a little doughy toward the end, but otherwise, very delicious! read more

I tried the buffalo chicken bagel. I set up a pick up time and it was perfect during pickup . It was nice and hot. The place itself is small and cute. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The buffalo wasn't over powering and the ranch dip wasn't your typical a store bought ranch dressing. It was really good. Can't wait to try the others. read more

The space was absolutely adorable and cute! The staff member at the counter was so helpful and answered all our questions. She was so kind and patient. The stuffed bagels we got, bacon egg & cheese and sausage egg & cheese, were AMAZING. I loved every bite. I loved the idea of the bagel tots, it was silly but an excellent use of food scraps & perfect for a little snack. (I think if they made these covered in cinnamon sugar too, I would 1000% get) For the comments mentioning that it was "inconsistent", it's a stuffed bagel, even in a regular bagel you get at a shop there are air pockets, it happens. 10/10, would recommend. read more

My friend and I figured we would see what all the hype was about stuffed bagels. We were both impressed with the food. We ordered the pastrami Reuben bagel and the sausage egg and cheese bagel. Both were delicious and I am looking forward to trying more. The bagels seemed freshly made and the fillings were delicious. Only problem is we wanted them cut in half so we could each have both bagels. They somehow ran out of forks and knives so the workers took them to the kitchen and cut them for us. Thrilling concept without good flavor. I got the bacon egg & cheese stuffed everything bagel. Candidly, I removed all the bacon bits and watched my travel companion remove the sausage in his. Best part was the center of the bagel - it was so doughy. We grabbed a bunch of bagels from the freezer to take home. The bagels are nice solo but I give this place a 3 because if you're going to be a stuffed bagel place, you gotta have great stuffed bagels. read more

When a $250,000+ degree doesn't provide you the career and life that the establishment promised you, you then move out of Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley and open up some hipster, trendy shop. Yes, I am making all assumptions with that previous paragraph on this bagel place but it just screams failed privileged art degree whose family will try to turn this concept into a franchise but ultimately it will be a write off for a private equity firm. When you look at pictures that the business posts and you go on their various social medias, you will see a much different product than what you actually get. What you see is stuffed bagels that have evenly distributed fillings. They look delicious. But what you get when you actually go to the store are bagels with fillings on one side and the other side completely bare. In addition these stuff bagels are pre-made so there is no alteration. If you like mustard on your pastrami bagel or ketchup/hot sauce on your egg sandwich you're out of luck . I guess you could dip it into a your desired condiment but do you really want to dip an Egg bagel into a vat of ketchup? If you cut the bagel in half and put it on yourself, that's when you'll see all the filling is on one side and also cutting it in half sort of defeats the purpose of it being stuffed. They also have a location in Kingston I haven't been there but I might try it out of curiosity. This particular location seems to be the concept that they will try to sell to investors. They will use the traffic flow of the college across the street as some sort of indication of what a great product it is. "The kids just love it" I've been here twice so far and it is one person working the counter, making the coffee, heating up the bagels and serving everything. I hear people in the back but who knows if they are watching Wes Anderson movies back there or actually working. Overall it is a decent bagel with a good concept. Unfortunately it's an absolute terrible execution. With all that being said, I might invest because this type of nonsense and product would do great in airports. read more

Stopped in for a vegan stuffed bagel but they were out so we had to settle for just a regular bagel with vegan cream cheese. The bagels are delicious with lots of topping which I love. The vegan cream cheese was also great almost non-distinguishable from regular. Although I was very disappointed that I couldn't try the stuffed bagels what is good is that they make bagels fresh throughout the day, we just didn't have time to wait. Maybe next time. I wanted to update my review to reflect the changes over at Moonrise. They have changed the menu quite a bit, and have unfortunately removed my favorite, the unstuffed everything bagel and white fish spread. Although this was a total disappointment at first, I now order their relatively new pastrami ruben stuffed bagel. It is so so good- stuffed with pastrami, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, and Swiss cheese, yum! My recommendation for that order is to get it with the everything seasoning, and to squeeze on some brown mustard before every bite. I also recently tried the bagel bites which were fantastic. They were $4 and very worth it, especially if you aren't hungry for a whole stuffed bagel. The atmosphere is still as nice as opening, and I love to sit at one of two tables and look out the window while I eat my bagel. Finally, the service was fantastic, the staff was very friendly and were able to accommodate all of my requests. I am moving from the area in a couple of months, and I know moonrise bagels will be one of my most missed restaurants! read more

Really disappointing experience for bagels, probably the worst I've had in the Hudson Valley from a bagel store. Bagel sandwiches would be much preferred over their bread-heavy stuffed bagels. I also ordered sesame bagel with lox spread which at baseline had a very thin 1-sided layer of lox spread (which considering the spread alone is nearly $6, a thin 1-sided layer is unexpected and disappointing). They did agree to add extra lox spread, which results in an appropriate amount. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Feels like a poorly executed gimmick. Got the BEC the bacon is weird and grainy, the egg is almost nonexistent and the cheese oozed out the side. On top of it they are super oily from them putting the seasoning on top. The moony sauce just taste like plain mayo. read more

They have a signature sauce, it was a little to strong of a taste (for me). Still tasted great. Pretty friendly and patient service while I ordered here, it is a very small menu, but have decide what's best without any pics to help. I got stuffed buffalo chicken bagel since honestly I was hoping for more breakfast types or maybe a pizza type since this place advertisement seems to be on creative side. I thought it strange how fast I got my stuffed bagel since it was way too fast. The bagel was stuffed all around with buffalo chicken so it was not only one portion and lacking on the other, but sadly the chicken got really soggy on crust and felt like weird texture wise. Don't get me wrong the chicken was spicy, but the breading was off and felt like bagel was made in advance and just thrown in a toaster oven to bring to temp. Wanted more a made fresh experience here. For what it's worth definitely something different and trying at least once. Translation ordered a everything stuffed bacon egg & cheese and as others mentioned not a lot of stuffing to enjoy. Maybe it settled on one side of bagel but not proportioned equally. Most exciting to have a bagel shop close to home and work. Went in and grabbed a bakers dozen for our team at work. And surprise we got bagels not round bready rolls with a hole in it. The flavours and crisp of each bagel was great. The team completely finished the bag. ( eight employees/13 bagels ). All Gone! We couldn't believe how small the bagels were and I wouldn't call them stuffed. Hardly any cheese and the bacon was crumbled. There was a lack of variety of bagels to choose from also. My sister and I agreed we will never come back. Have to say worst bagels we ever had in the Hudson Valley. Interesting idea but it fell short for me... the stuffing in the bagel was very unevenly distributed resulting in full bites of egg and then some bites with nothing but bagel. My husband picked up Bacon, Egg and Cheese stuffed bagels from the Moonrise pop up in Kingston. I was a bit skeptical at first. I love bagels. And stuffing one seems like a gimmick that would last a few weeks at best. However, this stuffed bagel was still warm and literally stuffed with bacon, egg and cheese! It is huge. People question and ridicule the $9.00 price. Let me tell you. $9.00 is a bargain for the size of the bagel and the amount of bacon, egg and cheese stuffed in it. The seasoning was perfect, the bagel was properly crunchy on the outside and incredibly fluffy on the inside! I dare say this is the best bagel around here now. First I want to say the service was excellent and very friendly but.... I paid almost $40 for 2 stuffed bagels and 3 bagels with cream cheese. The actual bagels were decent but not spectacular. The selection of flavors is fairly limited. I truly disliked the stuffed bagel. The filling made the bagel mushy. The filling itself was a mash of overcooked scrambled eggs and finely chopped bacon. I found the texture unpleasant. For me the very high prices are not supported by the product. I think there are good intentions here but I won't be back. read more

Heard about how these bagels were made the real old right way. Well found supermarket bagels, nothing special about any the bagels we brought home. Gave half to the birds. I really hate to be negative but for $10 for a pastrami stuffed reuben bagel was a big waste of money. I would really hate for someone to waste their hard earned money. Online they show this everything bagel stuffed to the hill. Well they only offer as a plain bagel at this time. As for stuffed - there was very little meat, and what meat there was it was fat and grizzle. Sauerkraut - about maybe 5 pieces in the entire thing. It was tasteless and dry.
