Rosemary & Olive Oil Bagel
Whitney L.

You ever have a bagel so good that you had to go back for a second bagel? Well, I've never had to do that UNTIL I tried the rosemary & extra virgin olive oil bagel with fresh scallion & garlic cream cheese from Bagel-ish. We were in Beacon for the day and stumbled upon Bagel-ish when we were walking around. Bagels sounded good for lunch so we decided to stop by and check it out. There's a good variety of sourdough bagels and spreads, although by the time we got there (~2pm) a lot were already sold out. We placed our order and I appreciated that you can customize how much cream cheese you wanted on your bagel. The bagel was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The scallion and garlic spread was so fresh and flavorful and it paired beautifully with the rosemary bagel (be warned: you may have a lingering garlic-y breath after eating this). If we weren't embarking on a long hike right after, we would've gotten some bagels to take home. Can't wait to come back and try out more bagels!

Service prompt and friendly. Bagels absolutely delish. Nice little shop. Some standing room to eat a quick bite.

I love sourdough bagels and the storefront was so cute so I tried a Za'tar Evoo bagel- it was so good! Soft and fresh, and the seasoning was incredible. Didn't get cream cheese, and it didn't need it. Truly so flavorful I ate the entire thing while walking Main Street. Workers are very friendly and welcoming! If I'm ever back in Beacon I would definitely stop here again.

The service was a bit slow, but the owner explained there were a couple of staff out sick for the day. The owner was friendly and sociable. She indicated that it's a strong value of hers not to have sick staff on site, which I can understand and respect. The bagels were so tasty! I really enjoyed my cheddar bagel, which had a nice crunch but was also delightfully doughy inside. My friend got the BEC soufflé, which was made fresh and was delicious! The bagels are made of sourdough and are less likely to cause an insulin spike. The owner explained that she has had folks with CGMs eat her bagels and there is not a spike in glucose.

I had the best experience and the most delicious bagel today absolute perfection! It was so good I ended up buying nine more to take home! The line looked long, but it moved at a reasonable pace and was well worth the wait (and every bite!). The staff was so kind and even handed out samples of bagels to people in line, which was such a nice touch. I got the rosemary bagel with scallion & garlic cream cheese seriously amazing. The space is small but cozy, with great decor and a really nice logo and vibe overall. Can't wait to come back!

Best bagels in my life. My fiancee and I were walking at the Duck Pond in Ridgewood NJ and my fiancee said let's go to Beacon to get those amazing bagels. So we took an hour drive to get these delicious bagels. You will not leave here disappointed if you come. I can guarantee that!!!!

It's clearly family run and the woman who served us was so lovely. The food was incredibly fresh. It was so tasty. We came out very satisfied. The Turkish breakfast is essentially a smorgasbord of various foods. There's cheese there's nuts there's dried fruit. There's fresh fruit. There's cucumber and tomato salad, there's sausage, there's olives, there's bread, there's butter with honey, tahini with molasses, jam, and there's eggs. We got the eggs in the traditional style, which is mixed with peppers and tomatoes. And it was absolutely delicious. Overall, loved this place and would absolutely come back.

My friends and I got the kofta platter and Turkish breakfast with the menemen, which was this interesting tomato and egg dish that was very soft and mildly sweet. The kofta beef meatballs were nice and savory, perfectly paired with the rice and salad. The Turkish breakfast is primarily a lot of cheeses with sauces and small bites with a bread basket - would only recommend if you like different kinds of cheeses and since it is very light on its own it would prob be best to order something in addition to it. My friends and I also tried the salep tea which was this traditional Turkish drink that is very thick and creamy, has a very unique texture with a sweet flavor and cinnamon garnish.

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

We shared the Butter and Blue salad, really well done. The fusilli Ferretto with lamb ragu was one of the best meals I've had in months. The homemade pasta was al dente and the lamb ragu was fragrant and meaty and rich. Perfect on a particularly cold evening. Liz had the sea bass and raved about it. We shared a bottle of Madonna Dell Donno Barolo wine which was probably not the best choice for the sea bass but was an outstanding match for the lamb ragu. The cocktails and dessert were also perfectly done!

I didn't taste the sourdough but I am sure it was incredible. The MAPLE BUTTER was perfect. It had the perfect amount of maple that was not overpowering - very well balanced. The everything but the bagel butter was also really good. The salted was a great classic. I also ordered the BLTA which was divine. The bacon had a hot honey coated which was such a nice touch. It came with seasoned fries which I normally don't love but I enjoyed them. We got orange juice that was clearly straight from the orange! Someone at the table to get a side of sausage patties which you can tell were hand made and they were not too salty! The only con was that we had to ask to order because it was taking a long time. When everyone arrived we all got seated inside and the vibes were immediately off. It took us over 10 min to even get our menus and we were just sitting there trying to flag someone down to help us while we saw a waitress giving menus out to folks just coming in. When we finally got her attention, she just told us "someone will bring it to you soon," when she literally could've just grabbed a few and hand them to us. At this point we were about to leave, but stayed because we were all starving. This happened throughout our meal, we had to ask for water and cups multiple times and even got dirty plates sent to us, which we then asked if we could get newer ones. Not sure if it was because we were the only POC in the room, but we felt like this treatment was targeted specifically at us since everyone else in the place was attended to in a timely, friendly manner. The food was okay and took a while to come out. I got the crab cake benedict and there wasn't much flavor to it. The potatoes were also soggy. The saving grace was probably the banana foster french toast. Overall, we definitely felt unwanted there and would not return solely because of the service.
