I must say I've been in there twice. First time I ordered a bagel which was good but got a cold cup of hot ordered coffee. 2nd time I went in thinking at 8am coffee would be hot .. wrong cold coffee again, I also ordered a egg bacon sandwich on a buttered toasted bagel... I ended up with a sandwich that was literally soaked in butter. No way to salvage the sandwich. Finally the girl that took my order was beyond grumpy she made me feel like she was doing me a favor taking my order.. I never leave reviews but I have never experienced such a crappy breakfast establishment i just had to. read more

I ordered twice a chicken chipotle wrap at Empire bagels. The prices are not updated in the website... just FYI. It's 2-3 dollars more.. First time I ordered the wrap, the avocado was expired.. Second time I ordered, the chicken was burnt. In the wrap, it had black, tart burnt pieces.. each bite I would take it was very sour and disgusting. I had to take sips of water after every bite. Not sure if they clean their grills.. There food portions are very little.. mind you, there prices are pricey. There's other places in Fishkill that will serve you better quality and fresh food like Flory's and Savonnas. read more

After coming here for around 3 years, I can safely say this is one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots for sure. The staff is always very friendly, efficient, and overall seem like such nice people. The place is always very clean, and they have a wonderful display of all fresh produce, bagels, etc. Their bagels are so soft and light, and their coffee is great. Whether you stop by for a grab and go snack, or sit down for a SEG on a toasted bagel (my fav), this place never misses. read more

Cooked in oil. Gummy dough BAD BUY Downtown: Reasonable price $4.25 Tons of fresh cooked tasty ham Cooked in butter "Everything" everywhere top and bottom. Amazing delicate crisp Real Americans these. Burger King: 2 for $4.00 Real cheese On a fresh croissant Tons of flavory delicious ham. I wanted to try a real New York bagel so we stopped in at empire bagels. The blueberry and chocolate mousse muffins were divine. The bagels were very different than what I am accustomed to. The bagels were lighter and flakier and the cream cheese was freshly made with a much lighter texture and taste. The staff were very friendly and considerate of our kids and we had a lively conversation about Mexico. I highly recommend both the food and the staff. This place has good bagels (they are not classic boiled ones but still better than everythign available around here). Counter staff is welcoming, warm and good, but my minus 2 stars is for a relatively recent change of the cook/grill person and since that time all my eggs are overcooked with brown marks on them. Burnt eggs are nasty and its a pity to throw away an omelet (and my money) time after time . I visit much less because of it and only for bagels now. read more

The entire ride home I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that she didn't mean anything rude by it. I was talking to my family going over every possible interpretation of what she could have meant. But after reading several reviews about how rude she is, I have accepted that she was literally insulting my appearance and the way I looked. I honestly can't remember the last time someone was rude just to be rude. Also, please know that I will be contacting the BBB, making an entire post about it on the Wallkill/Walden Facebook groups and Neighborhoods. The fact that there are so many bad reviews about this one person and she is still there tells me that either management simply doesn't care or she is the owner. I will do my part in making sure everyone knows to never go to this place ever again.
