Just all around great bagel shop, quick service and a small menu with only the basics. Sometimes you just want a great sandwich/bagel without it being complex, glad places like exist. Plus prices are more than fair. read more

I've been going to Downtown Bagel for years, and unfortunately the customer service has never been good. There's no greeting at all -- no good morning or good afternoon. Today I ordered three bagels: two with egg and bacon and one toasted with butter, along with a tea and an orange juice, which totaled close to $20. They forgot the toasted bagel with butter, so I had to place another order. When I asked if I had already been charged for it, the employee said he couldn't remember. I ended up paying close to $24, and I couldn't justify the total because I was not given a receipt when I paid. Prices aren't posted on the menu board, and with mistakes on the order, the cost is hard to justify. Very disappointing. read more

This place is amazing... when you get what you ordered. 9 out of 10 times there's something wrong with the order they give you the wrong protein, they put hot sauce or ketchup when you don't ask for it. They add butter so the bagel sandwich ends up being really greasy. This place used to be our favorite bagel place now it seems like they just give you whatever they want. read more

Not sure whats going on but downtown is definitely going downtown! Maybe new owners and the new ones not taking the advice of the old ones. Maybe cutting corners while raising prices. what ever the logic they are getting worse every visit. Some new faces at the counter really are not doing a good job and should not be there. Sal and his old crew did a great job and everyone liked them. Fast and efficient. The elephant in the room is the bagels. Not sure who's the baker but not good. Not a real Bagel chef. Short cutting the process, potentially cheaper ingredients and the real problem no consistency. Whoever is running Downtown now should take heed and get the ship turned around quickly. I've been here several times because of the reviews. But my experience has consistently been that their Bagels are hard as if stale, and what's with the attitudes? Like their doing you a favor! Very poor service. Slow and they seem to prioritize certain customers over others. Not sure what that's all about. It's like if you don't speak up they'll take someone else before you as you're reading the menu or watching what's going on behind the counter. They don't ask who's next or how can I help you! Forget a smile. The atmosphere is a bit run down and the place could also use a face lift. But I guess it reflects the people working there. These people really are "Downtown" way down! OMG! The bacon egg and cheeses are beyond delectably deliciousness. They serve up the right amount of everything in the sandwich. The ready made coffee isn't the best brand but is always fresh and plentiful. These guys are great for a quick breakfast when in the area. They also have great specialty bagels and a variety of cream cheeses. All in all, they are worth the stop and are easy to navigate into from Dolson Avenue. read more

Was given meat on a sandwich that was specified to be vegetarian. Did not prioritize remaking the order and did not apologize for the inconvenience whatsoever. The remade sandwhich, upon further inspection had small pieces of bacon in it and smelled like bacon. Probably because the stove isn't cleaned or they just did not care at all. I used to work with someone who every Friday she used to go to downtown bagels and get herself breakfast and rave about the bagels... I started going here in middle school. I'm now almost 37, consistency is everything. Always fresh bagels, recipe hasn't changed. They are amazing and have the best tasting cream cheese around. So I really really really love this place there food is absolutely amazing from there breakfast sandwiches to there cheesesteaks by far one of the best breakfast spots in the Hudson Valley. My only issue is when I walk in is the death stare I receive for the owner. Look i get so of my people are acting up due to the whole movement going on and yes how they are acting is absolutely awful given. I myself am ABSOLUTELY NOT part of that movement and extremely red and to the right and conservative. I served in the Marine Corp and am in Law Enforcement. Earlier this week I tried Orange County Bagels and while doing the review, I noticed this place was very close. Today, hubby and I got toasted bagels with cream cheese, lettuce and tomato. I liked the bagel very much, it was crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside. The vibe of the place is very casual and it was more "welcoming" that the feel of OC Bagels down the street. The place was pretty busy with Saturday morning traffic but the flow of the line went pretty quick. If I was nearby and wanted a bagel, I would definitely return here for a quick bite. read more

i went here for the first time. i ordered 2 dozen of assorted bagels. quick service and friendly employees. i always go to the shop rite on dolsen ave and i never noticed this little shop. its literally a couple of stores down . just park on the left side of shop rite and walk over. i got to work and everybody was raving about it. it was still warm even an hour later.. i guess they make them fresh every morning? my favorite was the healthy oats one. bagels were soft and dense, big sized , and worth every penny! i think i paid $20 cash..something like that. i will def be back! ----------------* came back here for another 2 dozen bagels. lightning speed service. love it!! read more
